You were in your car driving to your new job at the SCP foundation. You were very depressed but you didn't want the guilt of killing yourself since you thought you'd be punished in hell if you did.

The SCP foundation was full of monsters, you like that stuff so you decided to work there.

When you arrived you parked and went in and looked for Dr.Alot.Clef's office since he would be showing you around. You saw a map and memorised it almost instantly which was weird for you, you normally took days or weeks memorising things.

You arrived at the office and knocked, the door opened to show who you presumed was Alto Clef.

You: "Hello, are you by any chance Dr.Alto.Clef?" You said with not much emotion.

Dr.Clef: "Yup! And your Y/N correct?"

You nod he grabs your hand and takes you around showing you the most important places when you leave the cafeteria.

You: "I'm supposed to be at SCP-049's cell in 10 minutes"

He stopped.

Dr.Clef: "Wait are you kidding? Well no one wanted to work with him, weird"

You followed him and arrived at the cell in 9 minutes.

You: "Thank you"

You scan your card and walk in and go to the observation room and see it. You heard he couldn't take off the mask but it was off, you saw his silver-blue eyes and jet black hair. He looked so nice. He put his mask on and saw you.

049: "Di-"

You: "Yes I did but since in the files it says you can't take it off I'll stay silent... Like I've been doing for all my life" You say the last part in as mumble.

You sit at the desk and start to work a bit when 049 speaks up.

049: "Are you new here? I haven't seen you at the foundation"

You nod and continue working.

049: "May I ask for your name?"

You: "Y/n, don't get to attached, people say I'm heartless"

You hear a hum of confirmation. You then start to think.

You: "What's your name? If you have on that is"

049: "I've had many names in many, many languages but people here call me SCP-049 or Doc"

You: "Ok 'Doc' can I give you a new one?"

049: "If you must"

You: "Simon"

049: "Hm?"

You: "Your new name is Simon"

He nods and I go into my pocket and grab a Sharp razor. I look at him and see he isn't looking at me, I roll down my sleeves and cut my wrist, little ones so I don't get blood everywhere. He must have seen me cause when I look up he is looking me dead in the eyes.

049: "What are you doing with the razor?" He asks firmly

You cut a bit of loose thread off your lab coat and cover your wrists.

You: "Umm, I was cutting a bit of loose thread off my lab coat!" You say showing him the thread.

He looks at you sceptically. 

049: "Ok"

He turns around and you sigh in relief. You do work until your shift is over.

Time Skip

You hear an alarm go off, you look at your phone and see that your shift has ended. You get up and look back at the glass. Those silver eyes enchanted and confused you. You shook off the feeling and walked to your office. You hear noises in the vents and think its just your mind.

You get to your office and sit awake on your sofa for god knows how long you look at your phone and see the time 3 am you sigh and scrap the idea of going home. You lay on your sofa and slept the night away.

The next day

You woke up to someone pokeing your face, you sit up and see a scientist with ruby red eyes and ginger hair.

Dr.Bright: "Hello! You're the new scientist working with 049 right?"

You: "Yes I am and what are you doing in my office?"

Dr.Bright: "You have an interview at 5 pm and it's 3 pm and people were confused when you didn't go to 049's chamber at 2 since your shift starts at 2"

You get up and do your hair and go into your bathroom and brush your teeth and come out. You dip your head.

You: "I'm sorry, it won't happen again"

Dr.Bright: "It's fine, let's just go"
