"Which among the following is the letter of your choice? A. Nuissance B. Hardly C. Often D. Always" Sir Nuestro, our professor in English 101, said and we all wrote down our answers on our yellow pad.

We're having a pop quiz today because only few had turn in their homeworks today.

I was able to submit mine and had an advance reading yesterday so I was not worried about our pop quiz.

We were silent all throughout our fifteen minutes short pop quiz before we passed our papers in front.

We still have one more subject before we call it a day.

Well, for them, at least.

Today is our half day schedule and I have to report after lunch at the library since I am a student assistant.

I am taking up BS Psychology here in Boulevard University.

I flashed a sideways glance at my friends, Duchess and Alexa, showing them my uninterested expression in the subject.

Luckily, Sir Nuestro was busy with his phone when I did that else, I will be suspected of cheating when I was just bored.

Minutes after, we passed our papers and he collected it.

Just like that, the bell rang signaling the end of the class and the start of the next subject.

As soon as Sir Nuestro was out of the classroom, students started to buzz around.

"Kaloka! Hindi man lang pina-check sa atin!" Alexa exclaimed and shook her head.

Just like me, Alexa is concerned about her grades.

She was running for Dean's Lister this semester and I am silently cheering for her.

Aside from being an honor student, she is also a varsity player and that even made her one of the campus' celebrities.

"Hayaan niyo na. Baka naman nagmamadali talaga si Sir." Duchess remarked and I just nodded silently.

Duchess, unlike Alexa, was a silent yet fierce type of woman.

Behind her glasses, she displays a soft yet feisty look.

She was their class' defendant also known as spokesperson against bullies and according to her, after she has reported to their guidance counselor about it, the bullying has either stopped or lessened.

She was a tough person to beat yet her caring nature exceeds her personality.

She was always the thoughtful one in our group.

"Hey, guys, check out Jacob's IG! May bago na naman syang post!" Alexa hissed at us.

Obviously, she has long been crushing on our classmate.

Varsity player din daw kasi.

Common interest daw.

I just rolled my eyes and leaned my head on the wall.

I am seated at the far end of the row beside Duchess, on my right, and in front of Alexa in our seating arrangement.

I can freely lean on it when I don't feel good and want to take on a nap.

"Wala daw si Miss Devins!" Our class president, Lindsay Tori Williams, exclaimed. "You know what to do, guys. Attendance before going home!"

Our classmates cheered and scampered to the Teacher's table to sign themselves up.

All were excited to come home.

I closed my eyes and waited until they were finished.

I'm not feeling great today but I still have work to do in the library.

I have to get up since I wasn't able to tell Ms. Almeda I couldn't come in.

Duchess and Alexa continued talking and soon, I surrendered for a nap.

I woke up to Duchess tapping my right shoulder.

"Hey, okay ka lang ba?" Duchess asked worriedly.

I smiled and snatched the attendance sheet from her to sign myself up.

"Thanks, mga mamsh! Duduty pa ako sa library. Una na ako ha. See you bukas!" I said and gave back to her the almost full attendance sheet.

I grabbed my things and shove them inside my bag.

I was about to stand up when my knees became weak and almost topple over Alexa behind me but she was quick to catch me before I fell.

"Oops! Tulog pa, besh?" Alexa joked and I managed to smile half-heartedly.

"Sure ka, kaya pa? I can drop by at the library to excuse you for not being well today." Duchess offered, concern is evident in her voice.

I shook my head and balanced myself.

"Thanks for the concern, mga beh. Pero oks lang me. Nabigla lang sa pagtayo." I said and they finally let me go.

I was able to get away from them and was walking down the hallway to the library when I felt dizzy and I stumbled against the floor.

I wasn't able to see who was the person who went to my aide but I felt being carried to somewhere.

And then, there was black.
