"What are you doing here?" Kise Ryota tried to act as friendly as possible. Note the word "tried".

"Told you Y/N can't make it so I'm here to sub." Kuroo Tetsuro said calmly and swallow a spoonful of his chocolate sundae.

"Really?" Ryota asked, doubtful of the boy sitting in front of him.

It was supposed to be another date for him and Y/N but instead the "bastard", as Ryota likes to call him, showed up. Not his Y/N.

His Y/N that sounded so good to his ears that he did not realized he had smiled goofily in front of Tetsuro.

"I hope you are not thinking of perverted thoughts about Y/N while you are in front of me." Tetsuro uttered and looked at Ryota seriously.

Ryota's eyes widened and his face turned red.

"I wasn-"

"If you only like her because of her body, then I'm telling you, stop seeing her now." Tetsuro squinted his eyes and glared at the younger man.

Ryota returned his glare. "I love her. Not because of her body but because of her being. Her whole being. So I am not going to stop seeing her. And yes, I was thinking of her. But not in the way you were implying."

The two of them glared each other for a minute or two, before Tetsuro's eyes soften a little bit.

"Good then, don't wanna give Y/N to some jerk who can't appreciate who she is. Heh, you got a point from that dude." Tetsuro took another spoonful of his sundae and tasted its sweetness thoughtfully.

"Why do you even care?" Ryota asked and squinted his eyes to the other male.

"Huh? She's my childhood friend. And if you don't know about that, that means, since we were children we're always together. I care for her." Tetsuro said matter of factly and smiled at Ryota. At least he tried to smile at the blonde who is trying to be Y/N's boyfriend. Y/N should be proud, Tetsuro never smiled at Y/N's past boyfriends.

"Do you... Like her?" Ryota asked again, unsure if he should have asked him.

Tetsuro stared at him and his eyes soften yet again, before he answered.

"Yes. I like her."
