A Secret Shrine
Velma slowly gets off Ben, but realizes she lost her glasses. "Ow-wee. My glasses." She starts feeling around the floor to find them. "Oh, brother. Not again. I've got to consider contact lenses." She complains. Ben slow sits up but winces in pain as he looks and find that his right palm had been cut. Good thing Gwen talked him into carrying some bandages, just in case. "Hey, Velma. I need a moment. My hand got cut by one of the boards." He tells her. "Okay." Velma says.
But as she feels around to search for her glasses, she activates a movie projector. Ben, after wrapping his hand, looks up and sees that the projector is playing a video showing Jonathan Jacobo. His eyes widen as he stands up and looks around the cave. Velma, who can't see clearly without her glasses, squints to try and see as best she can. She notices something hanging from the cave ceiling. "Some kind of scary bat." She comments.
Ben looks and sees what she's talking about, "That's not a bat." He states. He walks over to Velma and helps her up. "Wait a minute." Velma says, as she notices a a newspaper article, "That's a pterodactyl. It's the Pterodactyl Ghost." She then grabs a photo, as she feels around, and brings it up to her face. Ben looks at the picture from an old newspaper and finds that it was taken in front of the Coolsonian, but someone was standing in front of it. Someone very familiar. Velma stuffs it into her pocket and Ben sees another photo, this one framed, and picks it up. Velma squints hard and finds Jacobo looking at the camera with others and even a young red haired boy.
"A shrine! To Jonathan Jacobo? But who would be so obsessed with him?" Velma says, as Ben puts down the picture. But without them both knowing, someone walks towards them. "Velma?" The two jump and turn back, Ben calming down after seeing who it is. "Lose something?" The person questions, as they hold up Velma's glasses. Velma squints at who it is, but then grabs her glasses and puts them on to see, "Patrick." She says, shocked to find him here.
"What are you doing here?" Ben questions him, but Velma backs away as Patrick steps closer. "I'm trying to solve this mystery. Same as you, guys." Patrick answers. "Right. So how did you-" "Why are you so obsessed with Jonathan Jacobo?" Velma interrupts Ben. "What are you talking about?" Patrick asks, confused. Ben looks back at her and finds that she's scared, of Patrick.
Patrick takes a step towards her, "No way, Jose." Velma says, as she takes off. "Velma!" Ben calls out to her, as he quickly follows her. Patrick follows after them, calling out to Velma. They end up on the walkway in the Monster Hive. "Velma." Patrick calls out again as he and Ben stop while Velma looks back, looking at Patrick with fear. "Stay away from me." Velma says, backing away from Patrick. "Velma." Ben tries to calm her. "I know who you are." Velma ignores him.
But she fails to notice the broken grates and falls through the walkway, screaming. "Velma!" Ben and Patrick exclaim, Ben rushes to her and grabs her hand with his right hand. "Ah!" He exclaims in pain and quickly grabs the railing with his left hand. Patrick had come over and lends his out to Velma, as she holds onto the grate with her other hand. "Velma, give me your other hand." Patrick tells her. "So I can fall to my death?!" Velma asks, screaming. "No, so I can pull you up." Patrick says. "You gotta trust me."
"Velma, please! He's not behind this! And I feel the bandages coming undone!" Ben exclaims, loosing his grip on Velma. "I only trust the facts! And all the facts say that he's the Evil Masked Figure." Velma tells him, but feels herself slipping. "What does your heart say?" Patrick asks her. "I don't know. It's beating too loud for me to hear." Velma says. Ben tries to hold onto her but she keeps slipping. "Look deeper. You gotta trust me." Patrick pleads with Velma.
Velma looks to Ben then at Patrick, not sure what to do. But she slowly lets go of the grate. Patrick grabs her hand and he and Ben pull her up to safety. "You saved my life." Velma says to Patrick, shocked. But then Patrick pushes Velma and Ben back as the Pterodactyl Ghost appears and grabs him instead. "Patrick!" Velma exclaims, worriedly. She and Ben could only watch as Patrick screams while being carried off.
"Velma!" Daphne calls out, as she Gwen, Fred, and Kevin runs to her and Ben. "Ben! Are guys okay?" Gwen asks them, having changed into her human form. "That thing just flew off with Patrick!" Velma exclaims, pointing in the direction the Pterodactyl Ghost went. "The best we can do for him right now is get that control panel back where it belongs." Daphne tells Velma.
But Velma and Ben share a look and the others see that they didn't have the control panel. "Where is it?" Daphne asks, trying to remain calm instead of panicking. "Yeah... About that..." Ben says, nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "We, uh.....gave it to Shaggy and Scooby." Velma admits, fixing her glasses, nervously. Fred and Kevin then laugh. "That's weird. It sounded like you just said you gave it to Shaggy and Scooby." Fred says.
But Ben and Velma remain silent and everyone realize they're not joking. "So, you gave the only thing that could destroy all the monsters and save the city to the biggest chickens in the world?" Kevin asks, still hoping it's a joke. "Yep." Ben answers plainly.
As for Shaggy and Scooby, they had entered a familiar building that leads to the Monster Hive. They locked the doors behind them for safety. "I think we lost them." Shaggy says, excited and happy. "Scoob, we made it." Scooby nods in agreement, but then a giant pink monster with a cone on its head appears behind them.
"You shouldn't never had locked those locks." The monster says. Shaggy and Scooby turn around to face it, becoming scared. "Now you're stuck in her with me! The Cotton Candy Glob." "Cotton. Candy. Glob?" Shaggy and Scooby say in sync, looking at each other as their fear fades away. "Yes." The Cotton Candy Glob says, letting out a menacing chuckle.
But instead of being afraid, Shaggy looks at it with a smirk and Scooby claps his paws in excitement. The Cotton Candy Glob, not liking the way they look at it, becomes nervous. Shaggy and Scooby help themselves to the sugary monster. "Nooooo! I'll give you cavities!"
