"Hey Mitchy, you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Okay then, I was just checking."
Scott said as he and mitch walk into their shared dressing room, Scott had only asked Mitch if was okay because he was being really quiet today. If anyone knows Mitch personally, they know that he is always very talkative and sassy. Scott decides not to make a big deal about him not talking as much today because, he'll just keep a watchful eye on Mitch all day.
"You know, Mitchy....I'm SO thankful for everyone in my life, like all the fans that come out to see us really do care about each and everyone of us. It's honsetly so heartwarming, and I can't belive we get to do this everyday! Can you believe it, Mitchy?"
"Hm? What? Scott, I didn't hear you, can you repeat what you said?"
"I'm SO thankful for everyone in my life-"
"Not everything you said, just the question you asked."
"Oh, okay. I asked if you can believe that we get to live this life, every single day?"
"Ugh, I don't have time for your questions Scott."
"What, Mitchy? You just asked me to repeat my question, I don't get why you don't have time if you asked me to repeat it."
"Whatever, Scott! Just please be quiet!"
"Okay, I'm sorry Mitchy."
Scott said, as he saw Mitch take a deep breath and plug up his mini straightener. Scott knew something was up but, he kept his mouth shut and thought that maybe Mitch was having a high anxiety day or something.
1 hour later
The whole band was now waiting in the hallway for VIP to begin, they still have about 10 or so minutes left to wait. As they are all 5 standing there waiting, Mitch silently walks up to Scott and grabs his hand pulling him closer. Then, once Mitch has gotten Scott pulled close to him, he keeps ahold of his hand and rests his small head on Scott shoulder.
"Okay guys, y'all can go in now."
Esther said as all of them walked into the VIP room, when they started doing the individual photos Mitch could feel himself getting very hot. He didn't think anything of it though, I mean it was normal to be hot. However, when it was time to sign everyone's posters he really started to feel sorta sick. But, Mitch pushed that idea out of his head fast because he didn't wanna even think about being sick.
"Are you okay, Mitchy?"
Scott questioned for the second time, he leaned over to Mitch at the signing table because he really didn't look very well. Mitch was sweating, and he was as pale as a ghost.
"Y-Yeah, I'm okay. Why do you.. um ask?"
"I don't know, you just look kinda pale."
"Scotty, I'm fine, just a little hot is all."
"Oh okay."
Once everyone had gotten their poster signed, It was time for the Q and A plus the private performance.
"Who wants to ask the first question?"
"I will!"
"Okay, go ahead."
"Alright, I was wondering if it was hard for you guys to be always from home for susch long periods at a time?"
All 4 band members had answered that question, except for Mitch who wasn't focused. Scott tried to get his attention, so that he could have some say on how he feels about the question.
"Mitchy, Mitchy?"
"Hmm?"
"Mitchy, what do you think about the question."
"I'm sorry, what was the question again?"
"She asked if it was hard to be away from home for a long time, Mitchy."
"Oh, yes it really is."
During the rest of the Q and A Mitch didn't say much, only worrying Scott more because he knows how infested and normally happy Mitch is when he gets to meet fans. A few minutes later Kirstie announced that it was time to sing, and that they had decided to sing Take Me Home.
you, you light up in the dark
You're the glowing and priceless work of art
I see, I see your shining star
You're the light through my window from afar
Suddenly Mitch started to not only feel like a million degrees, he started also feeling some nausea. He just kept telling himself that, VIP would be over soon and he could lay down after.
And don't you forget
The only thing that matters is your heartbeat going strong
Oh, don't you forget
That nothing else can matter 'cause you know where I belong
Suddenly, Mitch feels a wave of nausea come over him again, stronger than the first one he had felt only a second ago. He try's to delay the inviable, of vomiting in front of everyone.
Oh, take me there
Won't you take me there?
Won't you take me home?
Oh, take-
There was no choice to hold it back now, Mitch stopped singing and leaned over quickly. He started to vomit forcefully, when the band realized that Mitch wasn't singing anymore they were in shock for a moment and so were the horrified fans. Once Scott's brain finally registered what was going on, his only thought was getting Mitch out of there.
"It's okay, It's okay, Mitchy come quickly."
Scott said as he walked up to the small sick man who was leaning over, gently grabbing him by the shoulders and guided him out of the room. The security guard made the fans exit, and the rest of the members ran back to the dressing room to figure out what had happened. When they walked in, their eyes were set on Scott and Mitch.
"Scott? What happened, man?!"
"I-I don't know, Avi. Just call your sister, right now!"
"Okay, I will.'
Avi dialed Esther's number in his phone and walked aside to go talk to her, while he was doing this Scott had sat Mitch down on the dressing room couch. He was holding a small trashcan for Mitch to throw up in, he hadn't stopped yet. Some throw up had gotten on Scott's arm but he honestly didn't care, because Mitch was also covered in it too.
"It's alright, Mitchy. We're all right here, helping you, baby."
"Scott, Esther's coming."
"Okay, great. There you go, Mitchy."
"What can I help with, Scott?"
"Uh...Kirstie, you grab Mitch a different outfit."
"Kk, I will."
"Thank you, Kirst. You done yet, Mitchy?"
Scott questioned, and Mitch looked at him for the first time since all the vomiting had started. He nodded his head, saying that he was done throwing up for the moment. Scott sat the trashcan in the floor, just as he did that Esther came in very confused.
"One of y'all 5 better explain to me what all just happened. Scott?"
"I don't know, we were just singing and he started barfing. I knew something was up today because Mitchy wasn't acting normal, it must have been because he was not feeling well."
"Oh okay, my goodness guys. Mitch, does anything hurt??"
Esther asked as she got a good look at him, he looked completely miserable and ill. Just as she was doing this, Kirstie came in with a different outfit for Mitch. Avi had been at the vending machines, trying to get Mitch a sprite or something for him to drink. Kevin was trying to find some type of paper towels or something to clean Mitch up with.
"Y-Yeah, it hurts, it hurts!"
Mitch says as he starts to cry, everything has just been way to much for him today and he's at his breaking point. Scott, thank god for him because he is such a good best freind to Mitch. So, when Mitch started to cry he and Esther were right by his side in seconds trying to figure out what was wrong.
"What hurts, Mitch? Can you tell Scott and I??"
"M-My head."
"Your head?"
"Y-Yeah."
"But your tummy doesn't hurt anymore, Mitchy?"
"No."
"Mitch, right now Jake is calling the medics. Okay?"
"Esther, W-Why?? I-I'll be okay."
"I'm sure you will be Mitch but, they have to clear you proform tonight. You still want to proform tonight, right? Or do you feel too ill?"
"No, No, No! I have to go on stage tonight, I can't let the fans down."
"Shh, Shhh, we understand. Yelling will hurt your head more, Mitchy."
As Scott and Esther are calming him down, the medics arrive. They ask Mitch bunches of questions and check a few things out.
"What is your name, honey?"
A female medic asks as she walks up to Mitch, he looked very scared so she thought it was best to be on first name basis with him to make it not seem as bad.
"M-My name is Mitch."
"Hi Mitch, I'm Tara. I'm just going to check you out for a second, it should't take very long. First all I'm going to do is, check your heart rate. Can I see your finger?"
"W-Why? Are you going to prick it?! That's gonna hurt!"
"No Mitch, I'm not going to do that. I just need your finger so I can check your heart rate, it won't hurt at all. See, this is just going to go on your finger."
"Oh okay."
Mitch puts his hand out in frount of him and, she puts it onto his finger. Once Tara gotten all the information from that she takes it off of his finger and digs into her bag for something else.
"Alright sweetie, now I'm going to take your blood pressure. It doesn't hurt one bit, it'll just give your arm a squeeze for a second. Is that okay, Mitch? Your doing very well, by the way."
"Yeah, that's fine."
Tara puts the blood pressure cuff on Mitch upper arm, and just like she said it only squeezed for a few seconds. Then, she took it off. Scott was sitting next to Mitch, ready to step in if anything happend or if Mitch got scared.
"Okay, one last thing and then we'll be out of here. Next I'm just going to take your temperature, I'll just hold it under your tongue and wait for the beep."
"Good news, Mitch. You don't have a fever, so now all I have to do is ask some questions."
"Okay, go ahead."
"Does anything hurt now?"
"Yeah, my head really does."
"I heard you threw up, right?"
"Yep, right in front of all the fans."
"Well Mitch, I'm going to clear you. Just take some tylenol, I'm pretty sure you've been suffering through a migraine all day."
"Oh, okay. Thank you, for helping me."
"You are very welcome, dear."
Once the medics left, Esther had decided to push the show back about 30 minutes so Mitch could at least rest a little bit. Scott helped Mitch change into some non vomit clothes for the time being, and cuddled up with him on the dressing room couch.
"You know what I have learned from this awful day, Scotty?"
"What, Mitchy?"
"I learned, that it just makes such a diffrence when people are....helpful and sweet. I-I was like covered in throw up and everyone didn't think about anything else but, helping me."
"Of course, everyone takes care of each other here because we're all a big family. Mitchy, you really scared me today."
"I know, and I'm sorry. Y-Your my best freind and I should have told you that I was sick."
"It's okay, Mitchy. Just next time, let me know so we don't have to have a repeat of today's VIP fun."
"I will, Scotty."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
"I'll be quiet so you can sleep for a bit, Mitchy. Mitchy...? Aweeee!"
Scott looked down at the man on his chest, who was now sleeping soundly trying to get rid of his skull crushing headache. He always hated to see Mitch in any type of pain, physical or emotional so today was a very hard day.
"My little baby bear, sleep tight."
