A/N: HEY SWEET LOVES!! Firstly, I just wanna say that @s-sophies requested this sickfic!! I've done this type of story once, and it didn't go over well..so I really hope this one does!!! Just so y'all know, on my conversations, I'm taking requests for both of my books!!! ENJOY!!

"The doctor is coming to-"

"Wait what Esther?? A doctor is coming, why?"

"To give everyone the flu shot, I don't want to have sick babies during tour. Last year was awful when the flu spread around our whole team, and we're going to prevent it this time."

"Oh...um.....what time is he coming?? Today?"

"No, tomorrow."

"Okay."

Mitch said as he walked away from Esther, and went up to Scott who was just watching some TV on the small bus TV. He knows that there is nothing to worry about but, he never ever does good with needles.

"Scotty??"

"Yes?"

"Did you know that the doctor is coming tomorrow??"

"No. Why is that?"

"We're supposed to get the flu shot."

"Oh, gotcha."

"Y-You're not worried, Scotty?"

"Nope, it's nothing."

"Oh yeah, I guess you are right."

Time Skip: After The Show, In the Hotel

They had just finished up a show, and it was a really good one. Everyone else was hyped up because of how much fun they had but, Mitch was feeling....off. No, it wasn't because he didn't enjoy the show, he really did. It's just because, he cannot stop thinking about that shot.

"Scotty, how bad do you think the shots gonna hurt?"

"Are you worried about it, Mitchy??"

"Just a bit."

That was a LIE

"Well don't be, it's just a pinch."

"Yeah but-"

"No buts, babe. You got this, now let's get to the room."

"Kay."

Once they got into the hotel room, Mitch looked at his phone. It was 10:00 PM and he remembered hearing Esther say that the doctor would be coming sometime in the morning maybe at about 11:30 AM.

"Scott didn't Es say the doctor was coming at 11:30 AM?" 

"Yeah."

Which means, if you do the math, he has about 14 hours to worry about this shot.  He knows that he shouldn't be thinking this way but, he just can't help it at this moment. Scott knew something more was going on when, Mitch was googling things about shots and how much they hurt.

"Mitchy, worrying about it only makes it worse."

"I know, I know. I'm just scared, needles are scary."

"Well, I'm sure when the doctor gives you the shot you won't even feel it. That's what normally happens most of the time, and then there's no time to freak out."

"Yeah but, you never worry about it, so it not as scary."

"You're not wrong, Mitchy. That's why I'm saying all of this, if you don't worry it will make it go by so fast. But, if you worry about it all night and all morning it will be 10 times worse."

"Do I have to get the shot?"

"Yes. You don't want the flu, Mitchy."

"B-But, the flu isn't THAT bad."

"Mitchy are you telling me, that you'd rather have the flu for like a week than just getting a shot that only takes a second?"

"Yeah."

"Don't think like that, babe. Go to bed with your mind clear, and with no worries. Everything will be just fine, and you know that. Okay?"

"Okay, Scotty."

"Night, night."

"Night...I'm scared."

"Don't be, just sleep."

Time Skip: The next morning

Scott woke up to his alarm clock, and Mitch cuddled up right next to him. They had gotten a room with 2 beds but, when one of them is worried or stressed they end up in the same bed. He looks at him phone for a bit, and Mitch should already be awake right now but Scott's letting him sleep in so he will worry less. 20 minutes later, he has to wake Mitch up.

"Mitchy, Mitchy, time to wake up. I let you sleep in."

"Huh?? Wait, what time is it?"

"It's 9:30, Mitch."

Just 2 hours away

"Oh...why did you let me sleep in??"

"Cause, you need it."

"Alright then, I'm g-gonna go shower."

"Okay. Happy thoughts?"

"Happy mind, Scotty."

Time Skip: 1 Hour and 30 Minutes Later

"Mitchy? Are you ready??"

"Uhh yeah...I think so."

"Okay, great."

Mitch looks at the clock on the nightstand 

10:30 

1 more hour

"Mitchy? You comin??"

'Yeah, yeah. Let's go."

After they leave the hotel, they get back on the bus. Esther told them that they would be riding the bus, as always, to the venue and then the doctor would be coming there. It was so crazy to Mitch at how everyone was so calm, and he was not...at all.

"Mitchy, you are turning pale. You gotta relax, baby."

"I know, It's just that I can't."

"You can if you try, Mitchy."

"Well, I don't want to try. When this sort of things happen, if I don't worry then they turn out being awful but, when I do worry everything ends up being just fine. Worrying seems to be the better option Scott."

"No it isn't. Worrying yourself sick, is just going to make it worse."

"I'm just scared, Scotty, I need you to hold me."

"Anytime, babe."

Scott said as he moved his arm, and Mitch just cuddled into his side. Scott really didn't know why he was so freaked out over all of this but, he isn't going to ignore how Mitch feels about all of this. He is going to help him through it, and hopefully hey can overcome the fear.

Time Skip: 30 Minutes Later

"Guys, we're at the venue."

Esther announced, and as she did Mitch pulled away from Scott's chest to look at his face. Mitch just had this look of horror, and anyone on the bus could tell he was on edge. Kirstie even texted Scott to see what, if anything, was wrong.

K: What's up with Mitch? He looks freaked out.

S: He is, he's worried about the shots.

"Mitchy, it's all going to be okay. Grab all your bags and let's head into the venue. I know you are very scared but, I promise it's not that bad. Okay?"

"Okay.."

When they walked into the venue, they sat down all of their bags and other items in their dressing room then they went to meet up with the doctor. Some of the crew members were getting theirs done first, and just seeing that made Mitch look away. 

"Scotty, how does that not hurt them?"

Now, it was the bands turn to get the shot, and Scott decided to wait and go right before Mitch. Once Kirstie, Avi, and Kevin got theirs done, it was time for Scott to get his. He sat down in the chair, with Mitch standing right next to him watching. The doctor wiped off his arm, and stuck the needle right in. Scott had no reaction.

"See Mitchy? It's not that bad, promise."

"A-Are we r-re-required to get the shot?"

Mitch looks over to Esther, asking that question

"Yes Mitch, just get it done honey."

She replied, and Mitch really started shaking

"Scotty, I don't want too, I-I can't."

"Yes you can. Come on, sit down."

Mitch reluctantly sat down, and he grabbed ahold of Scott's hand

"It's all going to be just fine, Mitchy. It's just a pinch for a second and then it is all done. All it's going to do is hurt for a second, and prevent you from getting the yucky flu. I know you don't want the flu, Mitchy."

"I'd rather have it, than this Scott."

"No you don't, you are just saying that without thinking."

The doctor wipes down his arm, which caused him to jump and hold Scott's hand even tighter but, he didn't mind. Mitch's eyes quickly shut, and he's so scared.

"Mitchy, it will only be a second I promise."

"You promise? Ouch, ouch!!"

Mitch yelled as the doctor put the needle in, and he jumped up in fear for a second. Before he really has time to react, or tell Scott how much it hurt...it really didn't hurt anymore. He looks up at Scott, shocked at he was taking it this well.

"Well, that didn't even hurt."

"I told ya it wouldn't, Mitch!!"

STORYTIME: So, this story is VERY personal to me. IT'S REAL!! I'm TERRIFED of getting shots and I have been for most of my life. I'm going to be honest, I haven't gotten a shot since 2018. I was due for more in March, I cancelled because I was so scared. Then I got a new appointment for May but, I cancelled for the SECOND time. Rescheduled again for August, and cancelled for the THIRD TIME. I'm not proud of it but, this is my worst fear and now I've put it off for SO long when I should've just got it done in March. I don't have an appointment right now but, at some point I'm going to have to get them...I just don't know when I can handle it. Anyone relate??
