It's Nothing

A/N: HEY BABES!! So, funny enough, this story originally was supposed to be a oneshot that @SKRAMANILEGNA and I were planning. But, we decided that it would work better was a sickfic instead. As always, I take requests!! So, comment/message me!! ENJOY!!!

When Scott woke up this morning, something was off. His throat was hurting so bad. It was almost like his tonsils were swelled up, 2x the normal size. Nothing else seems to be bothering him right now, so he just decided to push it under the rug.

"Morning Scotty, we have to be at the venue in an hour."

Mitch sits down on Scott's bed, and pulls him into a really tight hug. He's just really worried about tou and everything like that. So, hugging Scott makes him feel much better. But, when he hugged him, Mitch could tell he felt warmer than normal.

"Hm....you feel warmer than normal."

"It's just from the blankets, Mitchy. I must've slept in."

"Yeah. I let you sleep in a little longer than normal today but, that's only because I'm going go pick us up some breakfast. I'm sick of plain cereal, I bet we both are. Where do you want me to go this morning, Scotty?"

"You choose, Mitchy."

"Okay then, I'll be back with Starbucks soon."

Mitch said as he skipped to the front door, picked up his keys, and left. When Scott was talking it hurt so bad, and that never happens. But, Scott knows that his he can get through whatever is happening to him by himself. He doesn't need to be cuddled, and taken care of like Mitch does when he is ill.

"I-I better go get ready, Mitchy will be back soon."

Scott whispered to himself, as he got up from his bed and headed off to the kitchen. He decided it would be a smart idea to check his temperature, just to be sure he wasn't running a fever. It took a second for it to beep, he in fact was running a low grade fever. After that, he headed to his bedroom to get ready for the dreadful day ahead of him.

20 Minutes Later

"Scotty, come down here!! I've got your breakfast and drink."

"Coming!!"

When Scott came down the stairs, Mitch had laid out a muffin for him and his usual Starbucks drink that he always gets. He sat down, and they really didn't talk much this morning. Normally Scott is always talking, like always, so it kind of shocked Mitch that Scott was being so quiet.

"Scotty, are you okay?"

"Hm...oh yeah, I'm fine."

"You haven't tried your muffin, yet."

"I'm not feeling-oh, I'm just tired."

"Okay then....we need to leave now."

Right as they were walking to the car, Scott was stumbling all over the place and he kept looking off in the distance. This really scared Mitch, because Scott is normally the only one who drives. He doesn't want him driving right now, he doesn't seem totally "there" this morning.

"Scotty?"

"Huh? Yeah??"

"Is something wrong?"

"N-No, why would something be wrong?? I'm great."

"You are stumbling all over the place, and your words. So, again, is there something wrong?"

"Nope, I'm perfect."

"Scott, give me the keys."

"Why? I normally drive, Mitchy."

"I know that but, I'm going to drive today. Hand them over."

"Fine, here."

Scott says as he hands the keys over to Mitch, and got into the passengers seat. It was a very odd car ride to say the least, something was off. Today they are heading to the dress rehearsal at the venue, and tomorrow is their first show.

When Mitch pulled into the parking lot, he looked over at Scott who had fallen asleep which was very uncommon for him. Mitch shook him awake, he would let him sleep but they really have to go inside right now.

"Scotty, wake up."

"W-What?? Hmm...."

"We're at the venue now, it's time to go in."

"O-Oh okay, let's go."

At The Venue

"Mitch, are we going through the full show?"

"Yeah. Scotty, you are so pale."

"I always am. Call me Casper the ghost, or something."

"But, your cheeks are like bright pink."

"I'm just hot, that's all."

"Okay then, lets head to the stage."

Time Skip

When they get to the stage, it is time to focus and get to work. This would be simple to do if you were not running a fever, and it didn't hurt to sing. Currently they had already gotten through Cracked, Na Na Na, and Cheerleader. During Can't Sleep Love, Scott just felt so much worse than he ever did this morning.

Somebody wake up my heart

Light me up

Set fire to my soul, yeah (Uh huh)

'Cause' I can't do it anymore (Yeah)

Scott started to feel dizzy, he figured that his fever had gotten even higher at this point. Which it most likely did, as he never took medication to lower it. He just wants to lay down, and not feel sick anymore.

Gimme that can't sleep love

(Gimme that can't sleep)

I want that can't sleep love

(Gimme that can't sleep love)

To Scott, it felt like he was fighting to stand up properly. His vision was going in and out as if he was in a tunnel, or something weird like that. It could've been caused by the lights that are surrounding him but, he knows it's not that.

The kind I dream about all day

The kind that keeps me up all night

Gimme that can't sleep love

(Yeah)

Just second after he knew something was wrong, he was on his knees. When the rest of the band heard him hit the ground, they all were shocked for a second but ran over to him quickly after. Scott was breathing so heavily, dripping sweat, and clearly wasn't okay,

"Oh my god, Scotty!! What's wrong?!!"

"D-D-Dizzy."

"You are dizzy, because you haven't eaten today. Can he get some water, Please?!"

Mitch semi yelled, as he and Kirstie were on their knees right next to him. Kevin had run to find a water bottle for Scott, and Avi was looking for his sister. They really had no idea, of what was going on at this point. It was about 2 minutes later, when Esther ran out on the stage.

"What happened, Kirstie?!"

"Es, I don't know. He just fell to his knees, he might be over heated."

"But, it might've happened because he didn't the breakfast I had gotten him this morning. Scotty, how are you feeling?? Can you tell us, please?"

"T-Tired, need drink."

"Okay, Kevin will be back with your water in just a second."

"Guys, when he is ready take him to the dressing room. We will take a break, because I don't want him onstage until he feels better."

"Alright, Es."

In The Dressing Room

"Here, Scotty. Eat these crackers, it should make you feel better."

"K-Kay, Mitchy."

Mitch sat down next to Scott, on the dressing room couch

"What happened out there, Scotty?"

"I-I don't really know, guess I got too hot."

"Okay well, you aren't going back on stage until you are ready."

"I know, I know."

"Scotty, are you shaking?"

"Yeah. So what?? I'm just cold."

"Just cold?"

"Yep."

"How can you cold, when you are dripping sweat??"

"I don't know, I don't any more crackers."

"You only ate like 3."

"Whatever, I just want to lay down."

Time Skip

It had been about 30 minutes since Scott laid down, he could feel that his fever was getting higher still. Mitch was sitting on a chair next to the couch, and he was trying to edit the Superfruit video for today. All the sudden, Scott put his hand over his mouth and ran for the bathroom.

"Scott, what are you-oh, crap."

Mitch said as he took his ear buds out, and stood up. He peeked into the bathroom to see Scott on the ground, vomiting in the toliet. He really didn't know what to do so, he opened the dressing room door and walked out. Mitch went up to Esther, who was on her computer.

"Esther?"

"Yeah?? How's Scott doing?"

"He's getting sick, come please."

"Okay."

"I knew it, I knew something was wrong."

With that she was up and running, they both went back to the dressing room. When they opened the door, all that could be heard was retching. Esther went into the bathroom to help him clean up, and Mitch just paced around. When Scott had finished, she carefully walked him back to the couch.

"Scotty, why didn't you tell us you were sick?"

"Mitch, this isn't the best time for questions."

"N-No, it's fine. I j-just didn't want to ruin anything."

"Ruin anything?? I'm confused."

"I didn't want to miss rehearsal, and I knew if I told anyone I was sick they would make me stay at home. I didn't want that to happen. Not at all."

"How long have you felt sick, Scotty?"

"Since I woke up."

"Scott, you not telling us, made it like 10 times worse than it could've been. Next time you are sick, please tell us. I'm not mad at you, I'm just worried. I want you to promise me, that you will speak up about it and tell me. I don't want you to be miserable, I want you to able to get rest at home when you need it and get better."

"I will tell you, next time."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

A/N: THANKS FOR READING!!! I wrote this because, every time I'm sick I go to school just to tough it out instead of staying home like I know I should. Please take care of yourself when you are sick, I definitely will be from now on!! BYE Y'ALL!!!
