(Monday)
"Bye Han, have a good practice!!"
Scott said, dropping his daughter off at practice
"I will, thanks dad!!"
Hannah said, walking into her 2 hour gymnastics practice for today. She has been tumbling since she was 2 or so. It's always been in her blood, and her dad's are always there to cheer her on. Even though they are very busy winning Grammy's for their band called Pentatonix.
"Hey Hannah, you can go ahead and start on the beam today."
"Okay, thanks coach!!"
She sat her bag down, and got to work
"5, 6, 7, 8."
Hannah started to do her routine on the beam, sicking every single move perfectly. She smiled to herself, knowing that when her parents see this, they'll be so proud. Suddenly, Hannah realized that she had gotten too into her head and she missed a step. Falling off the beam.
"Ouch, Ouch!!"
She looked around, no one was there
"C-Crap, what am I going to do??"
"Hannah, are you okay?!"
One of her teamates asked, coming over to her
"Yep, was just taking a water break."
She lied straight through her teeth
"Oh alright,"
Time Skip: 2 Hours Later
After seeing her dad's car pull up, hannh wobbled over, getting in. When Scott had dropped her off 2 hours ago, Mitch was at the studio. When the time came to get her, they switched places. So Mitch was the one who had picked her up this time. He didn't notice her limp.
"Hey honey, how was practice?"
"It was good."
"Great. When is the meet again??"
"2 weeks from now."
"Okay, remind me to tell your dad, he'll forget."
"I will, dad."
(Wednesday)
Hannah was surprised that her dad's hadn't picked up on her pain, and the limping yet. But she was good at keeping it hidden, that's why they didn't pick up on it. Today Mitch was driving her there, Scott would pick her up. Littie did they know, that wouldn't actually be the case.
"What time do you get out tonight, Han?"
"7:00."
"Okay. Well, have fun!!"
"I will, bye!!!"
"Bye!"
She limped into the buliding already knowing her leg would hurt so much more today. Hannah didn't know if she had sprained something, or broken her leg. She had no idea. Not a clue.
"Hannah, I want you on bars."
"Alright, coach."
Time Skip: 20 Minutes Later
"Ouch, ow, ow, ow!!"
The coach looked over, seeing hannah on the ground next to the bars. She was holding her leg while also rocking back and fourth. She knew something was up because Hannah never cried. She was the toughest on the team. Always hated to seem weak, or hurt even when she was.
"O-Ouch, it really hurts!!"
"Hannah, what happened??"
"I-I was on the b-b-bars, and I made a w-w-w-wrong move."
Her coach looked at her leg, it was already swelling
"Okay Hannah, let me grab my phone-"
"N-No, pl-plase coach d-d-don't call m-my p-parent's."
"Hannah, I am responsible for you and you got hurt on my watch."
It was too late, the phone was already ringing
Coach: "Hello, Mr. Grassi-Hoying, I don't mean to bother you."
Scott: "Oh no, it's okay. Is everything alright??"
Coach: "Actually, no. Hannah was on the bars, and she has hurt herself pretty badly. I think she needs to be checked out quickly. Hannah can't move her leg right now."
Scott's heart sank, and he went into panic-dad mode
Scott: "Oh my goodness, I'll tell Mitch, and we'll be there soon."
Coach: "Okay, thank you."
After hanging up the phone, Scott sped to the bedroom
"Mitch, babe."
"What's up love?"
Mitch was relaxing on the bed
"We have to go get Hannah."
"Scott, we don't have to pick her up until-"
"No. She's hurt, something about her leg."
Mitch's mouth opened, shocked
"What?!"
"I don't know, I just know her coach called and we need to get her."
It only took a second, and then they were both on their way
"Hannah, your parent's are coming."
"They will be so mad at me."
She cried
"Why would they be??"
Hannah suddenly remembers not to let the secret out
"I-I don't k-k-k-know."
Time Skip: 15 Minutes Later
Mitch and Scott entered the buliding, the coach had met them at the door
"Hannah's in the main gym, follow me."
They walked down a few hallways, soon making it to the gym where she had been practicing. Hannah was sitting on a mat, with other coaches icing her leg, she was crying. From the moment they walked in, both of them could tell from her screams that it was so painful to her.
"Oh my goodness, Hannah Lee!! What happened?"
Mitch said, running and kneeling next to Hannah
"Ow-Ow!! D-D-Dad, it hurts, I can't move it."
"Okay, you'll be fine. Han, you need to breathe.'
"I-I can't, hu-hurts-"
Scott could clearly see that his daughter was in pain, and that this wasn't just a small injury. Mitch had always been good at calming her down, he always succeded to making everything all better. That's how it's been since she was little. While Mitch was doing that, Scott took a look at her leg to see what damage had been done. It was purple.
"Mitch, she needs to get checked out."
"Alright. Hannah, we're going to take you to ER."
She began to panic again
"W-W-What?? N-No, pl-please i-"
"Honey, we have to go, you can't move your leg."
"N-N-No, I-I'll be okay, I just n-need l-l-lot's of bed rest."
"Yes. But, we need to make sure nothing is broken Hannah."
Mitch knew that the next thing he said would change her mind
"Sweet girl, my sweet girl. You might have to sit out longer, if we don't go now and figure out what this is. I know that you don't like hospitals but, the faster you go, the better you'll be."
Hannah knew she had to go, there was no point in fighting it
"O-O-Okay, fine."
"Let's go. Scott, you got her?"
Mitch questioned, grabbing her gym bag
"Yeah, I'll get her. I'm sorry, this might hurt."
Scott carried her out, placing her in the back of the car
"Ow-Ouch, dad, that hurt."
"Sorry, I'm sorry."
He buckled her in, tears continued to flow
"W-W-What if it's broken?? I-can't sit out. What w-w-will I do??"
Mitch turned around, looking Hannah in the eyes
"We'll worry about that when we cross that bridge, Han."
Time Skip: 2 Hours Later
"It seem's like Hannah, based on the X-Rays, has re-broken her leg."
The doctor said, and Scott was super confused along with Mitch
"Re-broken?"
"Well yes, she must've done something to it days prior."
"Oh, I see."
Scott really didn't see, he was still not understanding
"She'll need a cast. Hannah, what color do you want?"
"Purple."
"Good choice, I'll be back in a second."
The doctor said, leaving the room
"Hannah, you have some explaining to do."
Scott said, standing next to her hospital bed
"What happened, honey."
Mitch added, squeezing her hand tightly
"W-Well, on Monday at practice, I landed wrong. I a-a-actully heard my leg pop but, I-I never said anything. It really hurt, and I should've said something. Then, today I went to do the bars. I fell off of them again, that's when it broke for a second time. I should've said something."
They were shocked, Scott asked the next question
"Hannah, why didn't you tell us?"
"I-I knew you'd make me come here, I was scared."
"You even went to school with it like that, we had no clue."
"I know. I shouldn't have gone to school with it."
"You should've told us, sweetie. You know we'd make you get it checked out but, that wouldn't be as worse as going to school and walking everywhere with a broken leg. We love you."
"I love you guys too, I'm sorry I kept it from you."
"It's okay, just as long as you have learned your lesson."
"Who's ready for their pink cast?!"
The doctor said, walking into the room
"I have learned my lesson, and I will be for the next 12 weeks."
