20 Days Before The Wedding 

"Hey babe, you have physical therapy in 30 minutes."

"Thanks for reminding me, love."

"I guess we should go ahead and leave now."

"Yeah, it will take me forever to get to the car."

"Hey Mitchy, don't say that."

"Well, I'm just speaking the truth. Now help me."

Mitch said as Scott helped him transfer from the couch, to his wheelchair. He hated using the wheelchair but, the doctor said he could get around any other way. At least Mitch was already showered and dressed because, that is the real challenge of all of this.

In the car

"See Mitchy, that didn't take very long."

"I just wanna walk around without help, that's all."

"Babe, I completely understand that.

"Scott?"

"Yes, love?'

"Can you just drop me off, and then get me when it's over?"

"What do you mean? Oh, you don't want me to come??"

"I-I-I'm just sure it will be really boring, and we need some more food from the store. So, I was thinking you could get all of that while I'm at therapy. I even made a list for you."

Scott is somewhat shocked that Mitch doesn't want him at his physical therapy appointment. However, he doesn't care to go to the store while Mitch is doing that. So, he agrees to just drop off Mitch and come back to get him.

"Yeah, I can totally do that. Can you send me the list, love?"

"Sure."

At physical therapy 

"Bye Mitchy, love you."

"Love you too, babe!!"

Once Scott has left, the therapy session begins. Mitch has never been to a physical therapist before, as this is the first time he has ever needed to go. He is asked a few questions about things regarding his health history, and such.

"So, Mr. Grassi-"

"You can call me Mitch, if you'd like."

"Okay Mitch, cab you explain what type of accident you were in?"

"Yeah, sure. It was a car crash, and I almost died. Someone ran into us, I went through the window and ended up on the hood of the car."

"Alright. Right now, where do you feel the most pain?"

"Mainly, the pain is in my legs when I try to walk."

"Do you feel any leg pain, while sitting?"

"No."

"So, Mitch, when you are walking how would you rate the pain??"

"10."

"Okay, what is your goal while going through this physical Therapy sessions?"

"To be able to walk down the aisle, at my wedding."

All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow 

Mitch wants to surprise Scott at the wedding by, walking down the aisle instead of being pushed in the wheelchair. So, in order to do that he doesn't want Scott to come to any of the physical therapy sessions and that will help him keep this surprise secret.

15 Days Until The Wedding

"Okay, Mitch, keep going. You are almost there."

Every Tuesdays and Thursdays Mitch goes to these therapy sessions without Scott. Now for the first time since being in the hospital, he has be able walk by himself without anyone spotting him or holding him up. This is a great achievement, and it only goes up from here.

One step closer 

"My legs are tired."

"Alright then, Mitch. We will stop right here, go ahead and sit."

"Okay."

Mitch sits down, and drinks some water

"Do you think I'll be able to walk down the aisle?"

"As your physical therapist, I will make sure you do."

10 Days Before The Wedding 

"Mitchy, who are you going to have wheel you down the aisle?"

Did he know the secret?!

"Umm....Kirstie."

"Aw okay, that will be sweet!!"

"Yeah, I-I'm excited." 

Time stands still

Beauty in all she is

What's standing in front of me 

Every breath, every hour has come to this

5 Days Before The Wedding 

"What do you say, Mitch? Ready to walk down the aisle in 5 days."

"Yes I am, this is the last therapy session before the wedding. So I've got to nail it."

"You've got this, let's start."

"Okay."

Mitch gets up from the wheelchair without help, which is something he has been able to do all by himself for awhile now. But. he still has Scott help him most of the time so he doesn't figure anything out before he is supposed to.

"Good job, Mitch. Now, I'm not going to spot you or anything."

"Okay. So I just keep walking?"

"Yep, or until you feel the need to take a break or stop."

"Alright."

He walks 2 times faster than he ever has before, and his legs only start to get tired when he walks back to the place where he started walking. But, he knew that he wasn't about to give up.

"My legs are about to give out but, I'm going to keep going."

One step closer

Mitch makes it, he walks to where he started

"I did it!! I did it!!!"

"I knew you would, you are one of the most hard working patients I have ever had."

Day Of The Wedding

"Nicole, this make-up looks fabulous!!"

"I'm glad you like it, love. Wedding starts in 5 minutes, you ready?"

"Ready, as I'll ever be."

And all along I believed, I would find you

I'll love you for a thousand more

Scott is standing at the alter, waiting foe Kirstie to wheel Mitch out in his wheelchair. He knows that this is not what Mitch wanted to do on his wedding day but, all Scott cares about is marrying him and that is all.

"Wow, oh my goodness."

He whispers under his breath, as he see Mitch starting to walk down the aisle all by himself without the wheelchair or Kirstie. He looks beautiful, even better than any princess. Mitch is carrying a pretty mixed bouquet of brightly colored flowers, he looks at Scott with a smile.

One step closer

Scott is wiping his own tears, that he cannot hold back anymore. This is an amazing moment that he will never ever forget. Mitch makes it up to the alter where Scott is waiting, he helps Mitch up on the platform who is also shedding a few happy and proud tears.

One step closer 

"We are gathered here today, to celebrate the wedding of Scott Richard Hoying and Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi. Now the couple will share their vows." 

"Mitch, I knew when I saw you for the first time at CATS we would be here in a chapel getting married sometime. If we were single at 30, or 15 I just knew you wouldn't only be my best friend. That, you'd be more. W-When you almost died, I was so scared. I thought that the only person I've really loved, was going to die. Today I become a husband, today I become accountable to someone else other than just myself. Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi, I become accountable for you. Together, no matter what happens. I'll be ready, for anything and everything. I can't wait."

Mitch whispers to Scott, as he wipes some tears off his face 

"I love you, Scotty."

"I love you too."

I have died everyday, waiting for you 

Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years 

I'll love you for a thousand more

"Scott, you are such a light and a talker. Sometimes to the point were it gets to be too much but I think you already know that. You support everything I want to do, and I love you for that. When we moved in together for the first time, in 2013. I was just getting out of an awful relationship. You made me feel SO loved, and that's when I knew nobody else could make me feel like that. I cannot wait to grow with you, to become parents with you, to have a life with you. Always, and forever."

And all along I believed, I would find you

"I pronounce you husbands for life, you can kiss."

Scott dips Mitch, and they share a very long kiss. When they finally come up for air, both of them just look at each other in awe for moment. Almost as if they, didn't even realize they had just gotten married. 

"I love you, Mitchy."

"I love you, more."

"I love you most!"
