BTW: They are a couple in this sickfic. That's what the requestor wanted. I DO NOT ship them in real life ofc. I love their friendship and that is IT. So, I hope it doesn't bother yall. :)

Oldest Brother: Carson

 Middle Brother: Grayson

Youngest Daughter: Brighten

"Morning, Lovely."

Mitch said, walking into the kitchen

"Good morning. Sleep good?"

Scott questioned as he kissed Mitch's forehead, handing him a cup of hot coffee. It was Monday morning which is Scott's day to make breakfast. They switch every other day. Mitch is in charge of making their lunches, which is easy since he pre-packed them last night.

"I slept fine last night. You?"

"Tossed and turned a few times, but it was good. Hey, Carson."

Their oldest son walked into the kitchen

"Hey. What's for breakfast?"

"Waffles. How many do you want??"

"Just 2."

"Carson, did you brush your hair?"

Mitch asked, as his sons hair was all out of whack

"No, I'll do it later."

Mitch rolled his eyes, grabbing Brighten's hair bush

"Dad, no."

"Just let me fix it, like I did when you were a whittle baby."

He joked, walking behind Carson and styling his hair as he ate

"Whoa, is dad your new stylist??"

Grayson said, laughing and sitting next to his brother

"Gray, did you really have to say that?"

"Yes, I had no choice."

Scott giggles

"You guys are too much. How many waffles, Grayson?"

"Um...I'll take 1."

"Okay, here."

"Done. Thanks for staying still."

Mitch finished up Carson's hair

"Let me guess....you need to fix mine too?"

Grayson questioned

"Hm...nope you look fine. Eat."

Time Skip: 10 Minutes Later

"Where's Brighten? She's going to be late."

"I haven't seen her all morning."

Carson replied, and Grayson agreed

"Me either."

"Scott, I'll go check on her."

"Okay."

Mitch quickly walked up the steps, she really needed to be out the door in about 10 minutes. He checked the bathroom first. Brighten wasn't there. Then, he knocked on her door. Shouting her name.

"Brighten?? Are you getting dressed, honey?"

He knocked

No answer

"Brighten...I'm coming in."

Mitch opened the door, she was still in bed

"Hey, wake up. You're going to be late."

He shook her wake

"Hmm....what..?"

"You've got ten minutes. Let's go."

She still looked confused

"Brighten, you've overslept."

"I did?"

"Yes. Now, you have 10 minutes to get ready."

"Okay, okay, I'll be down soon."

"Alright."

Once Mitch left her room, Brighten stood up.

"Whoa..."

She felt off, and her stomach was cramping. Deciding that it was nothing, and that she'd be okay. Brighten threw on a hoodie and some sweatpants. Putting her hair in a messy bun. No make-up today.

"Was she awake?"

Scott asked as Mitch came back down the stairs

"No. She overslept. I got her up though."

"Okay. Guys get in the car, I'll drive you to school today."

The boys and Scott walked to the car

"I'll send her out when she gets down here."

"Sounds good. Love you."

"Love you too, Scotty."

Time Skip: 5 Minutes Later

"Morning, hun."

"M-Morning. Where are the boys?"

"They are in the car. Take this breakfast bar."

"Okay, thanks."

"Have a good day!"

"I-uh-I will."

Brighten walked to the car, leaving Mitch alone in the house

He thought to himself,  that maybe she was a little pale?

"No. She's fine."

Time Skip: 12:00 PM: At School: Lunch

Brighten was having stomach pains all day, she didn't know why. Poor girl couldn't even eat her lunch so she just sat there, cradling her stomach. Brighten knew she could go to the office to call home anytime. Her parents weren't working. They could come get her in a second.

"Are you okay?"

A teacher asked, concerned

"Oh yes, I'm fine."

Time Skip: At Home

"Hey Scotty?"

"Yes, my love??"

Scott looked up at Mitch, sensing something was up

"When Brighten left this morning, was she acting right?"

"What do you mean, Mitchy?"

"Was she talking any??"

"Brighten was kinda quiet, but she's not loud like the boys."

"Oh."

"Why?"

"I don't know, I just thought she looked a little pale is all."

"Well, if something was wrong she'd say something. Right?"

"Yeah, yeah, you're right Scott. I'm just over thinking."

Time Skip: 2:00 PM: At School: Math Class

"Okay, do this problem. I'll give you a minute or so."

Brighten was in math class, which she already hated. This stomach pain wasn't making it any better. Only worse. But, focusing on the fact that math is her last class of the day and then she can finally go home. Brighten knows she should've stayed home but, she'd be alright.

"Brighten, can you tell me the answer to this equation?"

"Huh??"

She was pulled out of her head

"Oh um...123?"'

"Nope, nice try though."

Time Skip: 2:50 PM: School: Car rider Line

Since Scott took them to school this morning, Mitch went to pick the kids up. He just has to sit in the car, and then the kids will all pile into the car in a few minutes. Grayson was first. He was always first, because his class was closest to the exit doors in the building.

"Hey, Gray. How was your day?"

"It was good, I got to talk to Mrs. Charity."

"What did she say?"

"She said I can re-take that test since I missed it."

"Okay, great."

Carson opened the car door, jumping in

"Car, how was your day?"

"It was crazy but, in a good way."

"Oh good. I guess we'll just wait for Brighten."

Time Skip: 10 Minutes Later

Time had passed slowly, and normally she'd be in the car by now

"Did you see Brighten at all today? Either of you??"

"Nope, I didn't. What about you, Gray?"

"I saw her at lunch, she didn't eat."

"She didn't? That's weird. Oh here she comes."

Mitch said, as he saw her walking toward the car

"Brighten, what made you so late hun? Teacher keep you?"

"Nope, just had to run by my locker is all."

Brighten didn't do that, she could hardly walk

"Oh okay, let's head home then."

As Mitch was driving home, he was looking in the mirrors. Brighten looked so pale just like he'd thought she looked this morning. Her head was resting on the seat, she almost was asleep. But it was a Monday, and Monday's are always tiring. Maybe she just needed some rest?

Time Skip: At Home

All the kids got out of the car, the boys of course were racing to see who could make it in the house the fastest. Sometimes Brighten could play along with them but, not today. She walked into the house with Mitch following behind her. She was walking so slow, too slow for her age.

"Hey, Bright. Come talk to me."

Mitch dropped his keys on the counter, waving her over

"What?"

"Are you alright? You look rough."

Before Brighten could even answer, a hand went over her mouth. She ran to the bathroom leaving both of her parents confused in the kitchen. They quickly followed behind her realizing what had happened. Carson was washing his hands, when suddenly his sister ran in and pushed him out of the way. Dropping onto her knees, and vomiting into the toilet.

"Oh my goodness, I knew she wasn't acting like herself."

Mitch said, grabbing her hair and holding it out of the way

"I'll get paper towels, Mitchy."

"What's going on?"

Carson questioned

"Brighten's sick. Go to your room, she needs space."

"Here."

Scott came back with paper towels

"Thanks. Here honey, are you done?"

She nodded

"Okay, wipe up with these. Scott, let's get her to the living room."

"Alright."

When Brighten was ready, they both helped her over to the couch. Mitch sat down right next to her. Playing with his daughters sweaty hair. Mitch knew she wasn't well but, he couldn't figure out what illness she might have. Scott came back in with the thermometer.

"Open Bright."

She opened her mouth, and closed it

"Wait until it beeps."

few seconds later it went off, Scott pulled it out

"Does she have a fever, babe?"

"Nope. It's normal."

"That's weird."

"Hurts..."

Brighten said, grabbing her stomach

"What hurts? Your stomach??"

"Y-Yeah."

"Scott, you'd better grab a bucket."

Mitch requested, afraid she'd throw up again

"Okay. On it."

He grabbed the trash, sitting it next to her

"I-I want to go to my room. Lay in my bed."

She wined

"Well, maybe it's a good idea to stay here so we can watch you?"

Scott said, Mitch agreed

"Yeah."

"No, I'll be fine. I just wanna sleep, I'm going to my room."

"Brighten-"

She'd gotten up off the couch, started walking to her bedroom

"Okay, fine but I'll come and check on you in a few minutes."

Brighten was already upstairs, heading to her room

"Scotty, what are we going to do with her?"

"I don't know. I've never seen her throw up without a fever."

"Yeah that's weird. I don't know, should we call her-"

They heard big and fast footsteps coming from the stairs

"Dads!!"

It was Grayson

"What?!"

"Brighten-she passed out."

Both Scott and Mitch look at each other in fear

Then, they ran up the steps

"Brighten, Brighten, baby girl."

Mitch said, putting her head in his lap

"Should we call for help, Mitchy?"

"No-I mean, not unless she doesn't wake up in a minute."

"Wake up, sweetheart. We're right here."

"Hey, what's that?"

Mitch saw something on the back of her pants, and on the floor

"What's what?"

"On her pants and on the floor? Turn her."

Scott turned her, to get a better look

"What is that, Scotty?"

"Blood."

"Wait, what? Are you sure??'

"Yeah. She's 13. It makes sense."

"Her first period."

Mitch almost couldn't make sense that his baby girl, was no longer a baby. She started to come back around, and now they had to tell her about what she gets to deal with every month.

"W-W-What happened?"

"Bright, you've started your period."

"I have?"

"Yes, we think it's what made you get sick and faint."

"Well, how do I...you know...handle this?"

Scott and Mitch gave each other a look

"I have pads in my bathroom, let me get them."

"Dad, you already have some?"

"Yes, I've had them for a few months."

"Why?"

"I've got to be prepared for my...not so little girl."
