Mind Palace
hey...comment down if....okay just comment in an attention whore, aight? There! I said it...
**********
I walked through the empty, unknown, scary halls of...Unknown. There were papers scattered across the floor, some ripped, others in perfect condition. I kept walking. The lights above me started flickering as I graced my finger on the wall as I strolled.
"Look to your left" a voice that seemed to be everywhere spoke. I turned my head to the left as told and a picture appeared.
Like a floating screen with gloomy, dreamy, edges; a perfect imagine for me to touch....to remember.
It was me and my mother baking cookies in December. We were laughing as she put cake batter on my nose after I flicked flour at her. The tv played in the living room on a low volume, basic reports of riots, crazy snow storms and random interviews playing on the silver flickering screen.
I smiled as I watched the scene; my mom laughing so hard tears sprung to her eyes as my past self said something that was seemingly...hilarious.
My smile soon faded and I knew what was coming. The gloomy and dreamy edges formed into black cobwebs that took over the corners of the floating imagine.
"Turn it off! Take it away!" I asked the Unknown.
Past mother laughed again with past Mitchell before her heard toward the TV screen as her laughter got quieter.
"Insane car collision on the highway causing over ten cars to be damaged and people injured! One man in a car identified as Mike Grassi the famous photographer because rushed to the hospital for severe head trauma! More information coming soon, families are now being notified."
Her phone rang.
The floating imagine vanished, leaving blue dust to smoke around where it once was. I turned my head forward and continued walking.
I looked down at the papers that were surrounding me as I walked down the hallway of the Unknown.
I bent down and picked one up; I unraveled it and saw smeared ink over the top and sides of the paper. I squinted my eyes and attempted to read the scattered words and humbled meanings.
"He talked to me today, it was amazing. I wonder if he knows my name?" I crumbled the paper again with a small smile.
I found another piece of paper, unfolded it and read the words with sadness.
"I fell in love with Scott Hoying."
Frustrated tears in my eyes, I ripped the letter.
"Mitch?" I heard a voice echoing throughout the hallway. "Mitchie!" The voice grew louder. I became scared and walked backward, looking in all directions to find the voice-
"Mitch!"
My eyes shot open and there I was, on a train, Scott's hand on my leg. I looked around and there was Kirstie, avi, Kevin, Esther and Mario all around, chatting or on their phones.
I looked next to me at Scott.
"You okay?" He asked with concern. I shrugged and avoided eyecontact with him.
"Yep...just in my mind palace."
