Doctor

"It's a tad chilly, no?" He mumbled as he rubbed his arms, although the thin layer of sweat covering his face said otherwise.
Mitch shook his head slightly, ignoring him and looking out to the water instead. The waves were slow and small, but he still sat near enough so they would reach his feet for a few seconds.
"It's too sandy." The man added. Mitch scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"It's the beach, Anthony. It's sandy." He replied with playful annoyance, although he truly was annoyed with him. Every time he got lost in his head, trying to come up with a new idea, Anthony would find something painfully obvious to complain about.
"If you don't want to be here, then you should just--"
"No! I do, I do." Anthony defended quickly. Mitch sighed and looked away from him, sticking his hands in the sand and closing his eyes, ignoring Anthony's sigh of boredom. He allowed the wind to create chills on his body.
The sounds of the waves hitting the shore and crashing into his feet made him feel relaxed and at peace. He felt his mind swirl into a land of creation and freedom, where nothing was impossible. He could create an idea, he could bring it to life with a pencil in hand. He could make up a person, a mind. They would have their own ideas, they could--
"That water is kinda loud."
Mitch opened his eyes, bunching up the sand in his hands for a temporary stress ball. He released the sand and put his hands in his lap. He sighed, trying to put himself at ease for a few seconds.
"Ew, gross, seaweed!"
Mitch released a harsh breath and stood up slowly with a groan.
"You know what? I'm gonna go take a short walk," he said, Anthony looked prepared to stand up, "alone." Mitch finished. Anthony looked confused for a second, but then nodded and looked down at his lap where his iPad was.
Mitch rolled his eyes, sighing to himself as he began to walk away. He let the wind carry his direction, and as minutes went by, he could no longer see Anthony when he turned back.
Nobody was around anymore.
Mitch grinned to himself.
Perfect.
He sat down again contently, digging his feet in the sand closer to the water. He didn't close his eyes this time, at least not for a few minutes. He watched the water, he watched the birds and the clouds move at their slow pace.
His eyes slipped shut without him even noticing, and he happily kept them closed. The sound of his deep breathing and the water, this is what he loved.
He began thinking of a character he was in the process of creating. He wanted to create a book in the POV of a man with great adventure.
Perhaps he would time travel, maybe he would be a wizard. Maybe he would be a writer just like himself.
He wanted his character to be handsome, but humbled and oblivious. He wanted him to be a hopeless romantic, but not stupid enough to allow his emotions to be played with.
He wanted to create the version of himself he wished to be. But different, a better version. But yet he couldn't thinking of a name or even a face. He created his personality and a simple plot easily and carelessly, but he couldn't even come up with him himself.
He opened his eyes.
He felt zen in that moment, he could almost started to come up with the face.
A sharp jaw but soft eyes-
Mitch then noticed a person was sitting next to him. He jumped and let out a yelp.
"Dear lord, you scared me." Mitch laughed, although he felt a tad uncomfortable and confused. The beach was huge, there was nobody else around, and this stranger decided to sit right next to him.
But when Mitch talked, The man was the one to jump.
"Geez, you scared me." He mumbled.
Mitch tilted his head and narrowed his eyes at the strange man who may or may not have mental problems.
"But you were the one to sit here." He stated slowly. The man look at him with confusion for a few moments.
"No, I didn--" he then grinned and looked away, "yeah, my bad."
Mitch looked back at the water, unsure of why this random handsome stranger was sitting with him, but for some reason, he didn't really care.
"So, why are you still sitting here, then? Any sane person would've probably left by now." The man asked. Mitch looked back at him, but the man was still admiring the view of the ocean.
"I was here first, wasn't I?" Mitch quipped.
The man grinned.
"But perhaps I'm just not sane." Mitch added.
"Perhaps you aren't."
Mitch smiled and looked down at the sand beneath him. He subconsciously began taking out bits of shell and random sea muck and gathered it in a small pile.
"Well, what's your name then?" Mitch asked after a minute. The man clearly hesitated before answering.
"John smith." Mitch eye'd him for a few moments, the name didn't suit him well, but Mitch nodded.
"I'm Mitch." The man--John Smith smiled as him and shook his hand.
Mitch noticed that the sun was beginning to set, and rather quickly too. He frowned slightly, he really wanted to stay here for longer, but Anthony would probably be looking for him to complain about it being 'too dark.'
"Anything the matter?" John wondered as Mitch frowned in self pity.
"Yeah... I kinda just want to stay here forever." Mitch mumbled, furrowing his eyebrows slightly as he watched the sunset, which seemed even more beautiful reflecting against the water.
"Where's the fun in that?" Mitch shrugged, a small smile making its way to his face.
"I just like it, I suppose."
"Who are you avoiding?" John asked. Mitch chuckled and shook his head slightly.
"Is it that obvious?" John smirked with a soft smile.
"Well... I have this kind-of-almost-maybe boyfriend. He's nice, but he's just... so... so," Mitch sighed and shook his head at himself, looking back down at his hands.
John nodded.
"Like salt water."
Mitch chuckled softly.
"Something like that." John looked up at the sky, he looked at it with a knowing smile that Mitch was curious about. He wondered why he looked at the sky like that, like he knew it better then anyone.
"Guess I should head back.." Mitch mumbled, wishing he could stay for longer, but Anthony might start to worry.
"It's been nice talking to you, Mister John Smith." Mitch said, standing up with a groan as his knees popped.
John seemed hesitate before he asked Mitch.
"What if you could?" Mitch seemed confused as he crossed his arms, noticing it was rather chilly.
"Then I'd probably just take a nice long walk in the morning... it's a long drive from my house, so I can never get here at sunrise." Mitch replied softly. He sighed and dropped the shell he was holding.
"If you want to... follow me." Mitch narrowed his eyes at the man who had a small smirk on his face.
"Um... pardon?" He wondered. John smith stood up.
He didn't say a word as John began walking away. Mitch turned to the direction he originally came from, shaking his head slightly at the strange man who was probably insane.
But he didn't walk back. He was curious, interested and he really couldn't deal with Anthony right now.
So, even thought it was probably dangerous and idiotic, Mitch turned back and followed john smith.
"Oh, that was actually surprising." John said with a low chuckle. Mitch crossed his arms, wondering if he had made a life risking mistake.
"Yeah, tell me about it... anyway, where are we going?"
He curiously asked.
John then stopped walking and gestured toward a blue telephone police box. Mitch tilted his head and hummed.
"A police box? These still exist?" Mitch walked forward and touched the door, moving his fingers in its square design.
"It's cool... wait, what does this have to do with me wanting the beach? And why is this here?" Mitch asked. John raised his almost white eyebrows and tilted his head toward the door.
Mitch didn't understand, and simply raised his eyebrows too.
"Open the door."
Mitch stepped backwards slightly, hoping this man wasn't about to lock him in this police box and mug him. Although he pushed the door open gently, and his eyes widened at the sight.
"What in the name of..." Mitch mumbled as he peeked inside.
"This is... this isn't possible. How on earth did...?" Mitch stepped back and looked around the box. He walked around it at least two times before going to the door again.
"You can step in, if you'd like." Mitch looked back at John and scoffed.
"Just so you can kidnap me?" Mitch replied.
John laughed and shook his head.
"Kidnap you? You can take a picture of me and send it to your mother just in case. I'm not here for that." He replied. Mitch raised his eyebrows, and took out his phone.
The man laughed again as Mitch snapped a photo of him and sent it to Kirstie with the sentence.
"getting into a mysterious box with this dude so if I get kidnapped here's what he looks like, rlly tall and probably homo. bye xoxo."
After his text was sent, he pushed the door open again.
"It's... why is it...?" Mitch out one foot inside and reached his hand out as if it was just a picture.
"Bigger on the inside, smaller on the outside? Yeah, it's just like that." John replied.
Mitch stepped inside and gasped quietly. He looked around, it was like a spaceship. His eyes were shining as he looked around.
He was absolutely speechless.
His senses soon came back to him and he quickly turned around.
"Who are you?" Mitch asked as he crossed his arms. John tilted his head and opened his mouth to reply, but Mitch held his hand up to stop him.
"And don't say 'John Smith' because I'm not stupid. What's your real name?" He asked. John--stranger danger smiled.
"I'm the Doctor."
Mitch raised his eyebrows and narrowed his eyes at him.
"The doctor? Just the doctor?" Mitch asked. Stranger danger--the doctor nodded and brushed past Mitch.
"And why did you take me to your magical box, Doctor?" Mitch asked curiously as he stepped inside, still amazed.
"Because this magical box is too big for one person. Thought I'd pick up a random stranger and take them on an adventure." The doctor replied. Mitch scoffed and followed him toward the middle, where a circle panel was. There's were levers, knobs, buttons and random keys on in, Mitch had no idea what any of them did.
In the middle it looked like a giant straw, to Mitch.
"What is this?" Mitch asked. The Doctor smiled and looked around the machine too.
"It's a spaceship." Mitch laughed and shook his head slightly. "Okay, but seriously. What is this? Some sort of... house? Museum?"
The doctor shrugged. "She was in a museum once." Mitch laughed again. "She? Is... is this thing alive?" Mitch asked nervously.
The doctor shrugged again.
"Well... that's debatable. And don't call her a thing. That's just rude." The Doctor mumbled. Mitch touched one of the buttons in confusion.
"What does this even do?" The doctor grinned and looked like an excited child to Mitch.
"Want to find out?" Mitch was tempted to say get, but then sighed. "Anthony is going to be looking for me. Perhaps you could find another person to abduct." Mitch joked. The doctor smiled, but shook his head.
"That won't be a problem. Don't worry. Once we get back... it'll be like you were gone for only a second." The doctor laughed at his own words, but Mitch didn't understand.
"What do you mean by 'what we get back?' Where are we going, does this thing... does she move?" Mitch asked the doctor smiled widely, and pulled a lever.
This caused the box to shake violently, Mitch yelped and grabbed onto the controls for dear life. The box shook for a few seconds, made a strange noises, but then it stopped.
"What the... bloody hell, what happened? Was that an earthquake?" Mitch asked worriedly. He quickly walked to the door and pushed it open.
"If it was, then I should--"
Mitch stopped. He looked outside, and it wasn't on the same beach. It was different. He was on a different beach, and in was sunrise.
Mitch's eyes went wide, and he stepped outside of the blue box.
"How did... where are we? How did you do that?" Mitch, amazed, asked. The doctor walked out too and stood next to him.
"Pretty, isn't it?" The doctor asked casually as he leaned against the box. Mitch stammered as he looked at the man.
"That's not... not possible. How are we at a different beach? Is this a prank show?" Mitch asked. The doctor laughed, but didn't reply.
Mitch stared at the orange sky for a few seconds before looking back at the blonde man.
He narrowed his eyes at him and crossed his arms.
"Wait... doctor who?"
