Always a bridesmaid
**
"And through love, and communication..."
I rolled my eyes, I've heard that one at least five times.
I sat on the uncomfortable white wooden chair, watching my best friend get married.
Don't get me wrong, I couldn't possibly be happier for her. But she was my nineteenth friend to get married.
And I, a very friendly and mostly nice attractive male, was still single.
I wasn't even talking to anymore romantically.
I was always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
That's actually a true statement too. I was her bridesmaid because equality, and I've been five other people's bridesmaid as well.
Why?
Because NOBODY WILL LOVE ME!
I was teary eye'd looking at my best friend of twenty years getting married to a handsome, kind, and loving man named Jeremy.
Although it was bittersweet for me.
She was going to move in with him tonight and then I would be all alone with my Shake Shake French fries and contact list that is lost of any cute guys' numbers.
Although there was a cute guy--freaking beautiful guy sitting next to me who was Jeremy's best man.
I was Kirstie's Maid Of Honour. So I guess I lied when I said I was her bridesmaid but I needed to get the message out there that I'M SINGLE AND ALONE AND SO MANY BOYS THAT ARE EMOTIONALLY STABLE AND LIKE MUSEUMS ARE STRAIGHT.
Anyway...
"So, I guess I'm the only one that doesn't cry at weddings."
The beautiful man whispered to me with a smile.
I smirked and looked around subtly, noticing that lots of people were indeed crying.
"I'm not exactly crying because she's marrying the love of her life, I'm crying because now I have to start buying more Sphynx cats until I become a sad cat lady."
I replied, equally as quiet.
I glanced at kirstie who was staring into the eyes of Jeremy, crying and smiling. She was glowing with happiness and in that moment, my eyes watered for a different reason.
I've been with her through breakups, mental breakdowns, sexuality questioning, bad days, and the good ones.
I even went to kindergarten with her, she's my best friend.
And she's getting married.
"Flubbing hell, you jinxed me."
I said, wiping my eyes. The smoke chuckled softly before handing me a tissue.
Tissue boxes were under the seats because Kirstie's family is very emotional.
"Oh frick."
I glanced at Scott and his eyes were watering too.
I chuckled and then handed him a tissue as well.
"Haha, sissy." I said to him sarcastically. He snickered as he wiped his eyes.
"Me and you, we're practically related now. Watching our best friends get married. And I'm practically Jeremy's mother."
He said, chuckling. I nodded with a smirk.
I looked back at Kirstie to see her looking back at me.
I smiled widely at her.
She seemed to be uneasy. I've been so countless weddings, and this always happened. Although it's understandable, right? Getting married to somebody. Living the rest of your life with them.
Unless you separate, but I knew her and Jeremy were it. I just knew it.
I have her a small nod and she took a deep breath and shifted her gaze back at Jeremy. And the light in her eyes sparkled when she saw him, I knew she wasn't going to back out, there was no way.
"You're Mitch, right?" The beautiful man asked me, my gaze flood back towards him. I nodded a few times before narrowing my at him.
"I remember Jeremy was really nervous to meet you when they first got serious. He was pacing the living room and he was already dressed and ready to go like, an hour early."
I giggled, trying to keep quiet.
"Yeah, I kind of tried to freak him out because her last breakup was really messy, and I key'd the guys' car and egged his house. So I just needed to make sure Jeremy wasn't going to hurt her...in a weird way, she's like my baby."
I giggled again and shook my head slightly.
"Exactly. We're in laws now." He joked again. I nodded and held my hand out subtly.
He shook it although he was looking at Jeremy and Kirstin.
"I'm Scott." He introduced. Our hands disconnected and our gaze shifted back toward the groom and bride as we watched our children wed.

"And now, Kirstin Taylor Lewis is going to have a dance with her best friend and Maid Of Honour, Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi."
I rolled my hands and looked toward Kirstie who was jogging toward me. My newly married best friend.
"Are you serious?" I asked laughing, she grabbed my hand and lead me toward the dance floor.
"Come on! Just because I'm married now doesn't mean we can't have sister bonding dancing time!" I laughed as she began dancing, her hands still in mine as she tried to get me to sway and twirl with her.
I eventually gave up and began doing whatever weird dance she came up with.
I looked behind Kirstie's shoulder to see Jeremy and Scott talking. Scott's glance shifted at me for half a second and his smile got a little softer.
I'm probably just imagining things.
"Hey, Wife!" Jeremy called out after we finished our 'dance.'
Kirstie giggled and turned around.
"Oh yes, beloved husband?" Scott rolled his eyes playfully with a smile whilst I just laughed.
"You remember Scott, don't you? We had dinner a few weeks ago." Kirstie smiled and quickly went to hug Scott.
"Of coursies! We literally text all the time, he's a real hoot." Kirstie complimented, pulling back and giving his cheek a kiss.
Jeremy sighed dramatically and crossed his arms.
"Oh great. We've been married a few hours and you've already cheated on me with my best friend."
Kirstie giggled and put her arms around Scotts neck and rested her cheek against his chest.
"Yes, it is true. I am having a secret love affair with a gay man."
She laughed.
That's when I really began paying attention.
"Oh?" I mumbled to myself. Kirstie then unattached herself from Scott and went to hug Jeremy instead.
Scott was smiling widely at the couple before looking back at me.
"What about you? You having any love affairs with girls?"
He asked jokingly. I laughed sarcastically as I then noticed Kirstie and Jeremy walking towards Kirstie's excited mother who held a cameras tightly in her hand.
"Unless the girls are secrets men, then no. And besides, I'm just the bridesmaid."
I answered, my brown eyes making eye contact with his pale blue ones which were making my legs shake.
"I'm always the...who am I kidding, I've only gone to two weddings." He replied. I giggled as I was yet to break contact with his eyes.
"Well, whenever you want to be in another wedding just hit me up on Instagram."
He raised his eyebrows with a slight smirk and my eyes quickly widened.
"Not like our wedding! I meant like, because I'm the bridesmaid... um... okay well, I have to go.. uh, leave... so um, later."
I quickly turned and went to where Kirstie and Jeremy were taking photos.
"Hey, Jeremy?" I asked as he snapped a photo of Anjelica and Kirstie.
He turned his head for a moment with a smile before taking another photo.
"Yes, sister in law?" I laughed and rolled my eyes playfully.
"Your um...your friend Scott is single, right?" I asked carefully, crossing my arms subtly. Jeremy smirked and glanced at me.
"Yep. And he's emotionally available, financially stable, loves his mother then he will ever love anything else, likes long walks and treats any romantic interest like their a magical goddess..."
I pressed my lips together and looked back at Scott, who was talking with Jeremy's mother.
I then looked back at Jeremy.
"Oh... and he kinda had a thing for brunets." Jeremy added.
I smirked quietly and bit my lower lip, looking back at Scott and noticed that he was looking at me too.
