Come Along
(A/N, so I got this idea really late at night, so I hope this is good!)
Mitch ran off the school bus, hurrying in the house.
"Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad!" He said, as he chucked his backpack in his room.
"Hey, Mitchell!" Mr. Grassi said. "Do you have any homework?"
"Nope! It's summer break!" Mitch exclaimed. "I love summer break!"
Mrs. Grassi smiled. "Do you have any plans with your friends?"
"Kinda." Mitch said. "Mom, can I go outside real quick?"
"Sure!" Mrs. Grassi said.
Mitch ran outside, a piece of paper and a pen in his hand.
He went to the edge of the woods in his backyard, writing on the paper.
Dear Scott, I'm on summer break, can I come over soon? Love, Mitch
He put the note in the branches of the old, twisted tree in front of him, smiling.
"MITCHELL! TIME FOR DINNER!"
"COMING!" Mitch called.
The next morning, Mitch ran outside to the woods.
"Why does he run down there?" Mr. Grassi asked, looking out the window.
"I have no clue, but at least he has something to do." Mrs. Grassi said.
Mitch grabbed the piece of paper from the tree, reading it.
Dear Mitch, come any time you'd like, I'm here anytime you need or want. Love, Scott
"MOM! DAD! I'M GONNA BE IN THE WOODS FOR A WHILE!" Mitch shouted.
"OKAY! BE SAFE!" Mr. Grassi shouted back.
Mitch grinned, bending down. There was a knot on the tree that jutted out in a twisted way. He grabbed it, pulling it forwards, then turning it to the left.
"Oh my freaking gosh it's a door." Mitch said, as he crawled through, banging his head on the tree. "Ow!"
Mitch gasped, as he stood up. The place he was in was crazy. It looked exactly like his backyard, except the trees were HUGE, almost touching the sky. Another thing about the trees, and everything else for that matter was all kinds of colors.
Mitch bent down, touching the pastel flowers next to him. They were shaped like triangles, stacked on top of each other.
A bunch of orange and black things that looked like squirrels ran by, like they were running away from something.
"Come out, come out wherever you are!" A man's voice said. "AHA! I GOT YOU!"
Mitch ran behind a giant purple striped tree, peeking out from behind it.
"Wyatt, you cant be running away from me like that!" The man laughed, walking to where Mitch was hiding. "C'mon, Mitch will want to meet you!"
"Scott?"
The man whirled around. "Mitch?"
Mitch smiled. "Hi!"
"Oh my gosh, hey!" Scott exclaimed, hugging his friend. "Is it okay if I kiss you?"
Mitch laughed, pecking the boy on the lips. "Oh my gosh, what is around your neck?"
"This is Wyatt." Scott said, pointing to the cat like creature around his neck.
"What is he?" Mitch asked.
"He's a Canfero." Scott said. "They're my favorite kind of animal!"
Mitch stared at Wyatt. The thing looked like a mix of a cat, a snake, and a hawk. "He's cool!"
"That's what I'm telling you! Canfero's are the best!" Scott laughed. "You gotta come to my house! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to hang out with you!"
Mitch and Scott walked through the woods, finally coming to a huge tree.
"Why're we here?" Mitch asked.
"This is my house." Scott said.
"I don't see anything but trees."
"Right, you have houses on the ground, I forgot." Scott said. "Look up."
Mitch did, gasping. "Your house is in the tree!?"
"Yeah! Wanna go up?" Scott asked.
Mitch nodded, as Scott put his arm around him.
"It'll startle you, we're gonna go up quick." The blonde said, as he grabbed a low hanging branch, pulling it.
There must have been a spring board type thing under them, because Mitch, Scott, and Wyatt were shot into the tree house.
"Ohmygosh! Ohmygosh!" Mitch gasped. "That was awesome!"
Scott laughed, standing up. "K, house tour!" He grabbed Mitch's hand, yanking him through the house. "Kitchen, zipline one, zipline two, zipline three, then there's upstairs."
"Upstairs?" Mitch asked.
"Yeah! It's fun!" Scott said, climbing up the rope ladder. "This is my room!"
Mitch grinned. "This is amazing! I can't wait to spend the summer with you!"
"I can't wait either!" Scott said, holding Mitch's hands in his own. "We're gonna have so much fun!"
"K, ziplining is so f--king fun!" Scott said the next day. "Just hold onto the part, and put your feet up."
"Are you sure?" Mitch asked.
"Honey, I'm sure." Scott said. "I'm right behind you."
The two both ziplined down, Mitch screamimg and laughing the whole time.
"See the mushrooms? Just land on one!" Scott called.
Mitch looked down, seeing giant mushrooms under him. He let go, falling on one. "OHMYGOSH!"
He was bounced back up, his legs and arms flailing. "SCOTT!"
Scott fell next to him. "Fun, right?"
Mitch laughed. "Yeah! Is this your version of a trampoline?"
"What the hell is a trampoline?" Scott asked.
"It's a thing like this, but it's made out of metal." Mitch said, as he and Scott jumped up and down on the mushroom.
"That sounds boring." Scott said, doing a backflip.
"It is." Mitch said. "This is so fun!"
"Wait till you go swimming!" Scott said. "Or flying! Or reindeer catching!"
"I have the whole summer, Scotty!" Mitch laughed.
Scott nodded. "I know." He slid off of the mushroom, Mitch doing the same.
"Scotty, I love you." Mitch said, as they lay under the millions of rainbow colored stars.
"I love you too, my princess." Scott said. "Do you wanna stay here?"
"I'd love to." Mitch said. "Staying here would be amazing."
Scott smiled. "We can visit your place anytime you'd like."
"Okay!"
"What should we do tomarrow?" Scott asked.
"Anything, anything at all." Mitch said. "We've got all the time in the world."
(Hey, should I make a book by itself off of this oneshot? If you think so drop a comment so I'll know if I should try it!)
