Bracelet

"Scott!!! We'll be late for our flight if you don't hurry up!" Scott's mom shouted. "Hold on mom!" Scott shouted back. "Sorry Mitchie." Scott said to his best friend. "It's okay. Do you have to go?" Mitch asked. "Unfortunately, yes. But we'll see each other again. And we'll video chat every night. I promise." Scott said, tears forming in his eyes. "I'll miss you so much." Mitch whispered, a tear running down his cheek. "Hey, don't cry. Look at me." Scott said, taking off one of his bracelets. "Take this. And as long as you have it, I'm not in L.A. I'm in Arlington Texas with you. Okay, Mitchie?" Scott said, wiping away Mitch's tears. "Okay." Mitch replied. Scott pulled Mitch into a hug, and they stayed there until Scott's mom stuck her head out the window and screamed "Scott, come on right now!" Scott sighed. "I love you, Miranda." Scott said. "And I love you, Stephanie." Mitch replied. Scott walked away and got into the car, Mitch watched as the silver minivan slowly got smaller and smaller, before disappearing altogether.

Mitch POV

It's been one year. He stopped video chatting. He stopped calling. He stopped texting. He probably wants nothing to do with me. Yet I still wear his bracelet everyday. I haven't taken it off since he put it on my wrist, exactly one year ago. I miss him so much. After he left, I realized how much he protected me. People started noticing he wasn't around me anymore. They started saying things about me. That's how it started. After that, they started throwing things at me. Then they started beating me up. It stopped eventually, but I didn't care. After he left me, almost everyone else did. The only person that stayed was Kirstie. But I didn't have any classes with her. I ate lunch with her, and that was it. My life has been complete shit since he left. He's probably talking to his new friends. I doubt he even thinks about me anymore.

Scott POV

It's been over 4 years since I last talked to Mitch. I miss him so much. My phone broke, taking his phone number with it. My Skype won't work, so I haven't contacted him in over 4 years. He probably hates me. I've been sitting here, thinking that maybe one of these people will be him. I'm looking for a roommate, and I know that he moved here a couple months ago. I saw him on the street, but he disappeared before I could get his attention. A knock on the door got me back to reality. "It's open." I said. I heard the door open, but I didn't look up. "Hey, Stephanie!" Someone said. My head snapped up. "Mitchie?" I said, pulling him into a hug. "Well who else would call you Stephanie?" He replied. "Oh my god, Mitch. I'm sorry! My phone broke, and my Skype-" He interrupted me. "Scott, let's be honest. You don't want to explain this, and I don't want to listen. So let's just get this over with. I don't care, I forgive you, and we hug. Huh?" Mitch said. "I smiled and nodded, wrapping him in my arms. "By the way, I think I've chosen my new roommate." I said after we pulled away, looking at the bracelet on his wrist.
