"What? What do you mean; 'Time's change'?" She was trying to figure out what he meant, making an attempt at cancelling out what he had implied.
"Organism functionallizer. Dude who lived here invented them so he could build Edward. It'll keep him - and you, now - alive basically forever." The man looked coldly at the two lookalikes standing before him.
Edward turned slightly to Andy, a sorrowful expression in his eyes. He didn't say anything.
Maybe he didn't know about this. She thought desperately. But how could he not have? It's built into him, after all.
"You're a monster. You know that? All I was up here for is because I found someone who seemed lost, and didn't know who he was. I was trying to help."
Andy's eyes started to tear up, and she took a few slow steps toward the man.
"As was the family before." He said back, almost tiredly. "Then I didn't know much about the outside world, so I didn't intervene. But now I know what will happen if you get out." He finished with no explanation. And then he calmly walked behind a bush, and when they looked at where he had been, he wasn't there.

"I think we should still try to get out." She suggested after a few silent moments had passed.
Edward paused. "But he said..."
"And you're going to trust him? How long have you been here?"
"...A long time,"
"Well - don't you want to get out?"
"I can't go back out there." He said quietly as if he was being told off.
"I'm sure you can." She persuaded. "Even if the other people don't accept you, my family sure will. Besides..." she held up her now lethal hands. "I desperately need some assistance."
So Edward hesitantly agreed for the first time in decades to come down from the mansion on the hill. It had been a painfully long time, and even though he felt he shouldn't be going back down, something inside him made him agree.
