It started with the barista who looked directly into Jonas's eyes while handing him his coffee. She said his full name even though he never gave it to her.

Then outside, his cell phone rang but the voice on the other end wasn't one he recognized. The only thing it said was, follow me. As he walked along drinking his coffee, Jonas was interrupted by an elderly woman.

"Are you Jonas?"

"Yes..."

She shoved a letter in his hand and hobbled away, ignoring Jonas as he tried to ask her who she was. He unfolded the letter quickly, knicking his fingers on the edges and read the words, we are watching you.

Jonas darted his eyes about and people were in a frenzy on their way to work, however none of them were paying attention to him. Was this a prank? He crumpled the letter and tossed it but when it landed, he saw another message written on the pavement. The chalk read, go to Water st.

It was the next block over and dead-ended into an alleyway. If it wasn't for the crows cooing alon the electrical line above him, he would've missed it. On the top floor of the vacant building in front of him, handprints spelled out, we're waiting up here.

His stomach tightened and his limbs suddenly felt cold. Then he realized, he didn't have to listen to these messages! So Jonas turned on his heels with a scoff and made his way back to the main street.

"Go back." Said a phlegmy voice.

A homeless man bundled in a dirty tattered blanket, extended his arm and pointed his arthritic finger back toward the alley.

"No!" Jonas barked.

He brought his hand to his face and rubbed his temples. This was too much weird for one morning but when he lowered his hand, the homeless man was gone.

"I don't understand." A scaley creature said as it sat up from a telescopic lense. "I thought the humans would be easier to sway."

The other reptilian creature walked on its hind legs toward a vast window where there was a view of Earth. "Taking over their bodies will be harder than we thought. Time for plan B."
