2.Why does our body weigh so much?
When we eat a lot, we know why we weigh a lot, but, not when we are thin.
Why does the scale keep tipping towards the right? Is it just the fat?
Water takes up most of our body mass. The average adult human body is 50-65% water, averaging around 57-60%. The percentage of water in infants is much higher, typically around 75-78% water, dropping to 65% by one year of age.
Our muscles also weigh, more than the tummy flab. The percentage of muscle mass in the human body depends upon gender, age and physical fitness. For men, the average muscle mass is between 38 percent and 54 percent, while for women the range is between 28 percent and 39 percent.
Body weight varies throughout the day, as the amount of water in the body is not constant. It changes frequently due to activities such as drinking, urinating, or exercise.
So, the next time you see the scales tipping towards the right, don't worry, you aren't fat, you are just way too strong!
