Day 7: 30 Million Light Years

Alas, my Earthlings and extraterrestrials, we've come to the end of Science Fiction Week.

Thank you for participating, using your imagination, and in some instances being vulnerable. We enjoyed reading all of your responses, and already look forward to the next Science Fiction Week.

To close out the week, we're going to ask you to get a little sentimental one last time.

"It didn't matter if I was thirty milllion light years away. I'd always feel the love my family had for me."

You're leaving for a renowned Space Academy early tomorrow morning. You're excited, but you'll miss your family deeply.

Write a 2,000 character story (AKA the length of an entire comment box) about what you and said family do the night before, and insert the line "It didn't matter if I was thirty milllion light years away. I'd always feel the love my family had for me" somewhere in it. This is your chance to really explore the theme of family and what it means to you, whether it's a biological family or friends that have become like family to you.

(What has been your favorite prompt/challenge this week?)
