chapter five

*April*

Dominique was sleeping well in the middle of the night when she dreamed about riding in the car with her dad. She and her dad had a good relationship before he passed; she confronted him in the car while her father dropped her off from school.

Dominique's father: *looks at her*

Dominique: *looks at him and smiles*

Dominique's father: *continues on the road and gets crashed by the other car*

Dominique: *wakes up from the dream and takes a breath*

The next day, Alan wrote the science questions, including Kholi; while everyone was in the class session, Dominique walked in the hallway while the few girls stood in the bathroom as she tried to walk there.

Girl 1: Where are you going, missy?

Girl 2: *tried not to laugh*

Girl 1: You have to pay to use it.

Dominique: What the hell is your problem? Because you're broke.

Girl 1: I still have my money on.

Dominique: *hearing and trying to go inside*

Girl 2: Pay her. Bitch.

Dominique: I'm going to make all of you mind if you two ladies don't move out of my damn way, bitch. *goes inside* Tudos!

Girl 1 and 2: *looks at each other*

The next day, Dominique and Brooke chilled in the park while sitting on the bench beside each other.

Brooke: OK, what??

Dominique: Those girls standing in the bathroom wanted to pay to go to everyone who walked in.

Brooke: I see the same girl from the same spot, and I see her talking to Kholi, and the boys dragged and beat him up.

Dominique: Ouch.

Brooke: Who's going to stop her? What grade is she in?

Dominique: I don't fucking know. You weren't here yesterday.

Brooke: I don't understand why she is skipping class.

Dominique: Because she's a hater.

Brooke: Still a bitch.

Dominique: Facts. *stands up* Come on, let's get out of here. *leaving*

Brooke: *follows her*

After the two girls leave the park, they walk on the train tracks behind the station and begin walking on the tracks to make a shortcut.

Dominique: It's a little chilly. What is going on outside?

Brooke: I have no idea. I might be hungry cause my stomach is about to feel growling.

Dominique: You wish.

Brooke: Do you have any brothers and sisters at home?

Dominique: My little brother. He's an honor and straight A's.

Brooke: Damn. He is better than you.

Dominique: I tried to be good to him, and we both bothered each other.

Brooke: You have to make it up with your family, do you know that?

Dominique: *looks at her*

Two girls get off the tracks as they walk close to the front of the diner place, and they help each other with homework while eating simultaneously. In contrast, Dominique and Brooke stick to the plan for their assignment to get their grades up.
