chapter eight (part one finale)
One month later, today was their first year's last day of school, whether they were gathering together for one last stand.
Some people took their stuff out of the lockers while Dominique walked into the hallway to check everything out during the five-minute break. Dominique interacted with Zoe right before Zoe headed to the Study Hall to prepare for class.
Zoe: *walks past Sidney and sits at the desk*
Sidney: *going through with the phone*
Alan: *confronting with the boys*
After class, some students said goodbye to Ms. Stewart, especially Zoe, who stepped up to her right in front of the desk.
Alice: Zoe, are you feeling OK?
Zoe: It's been for weeks.
Alice: It's been a month...actually.
Zoe: You're right. I'm here to apologize for it.
Alice: You don't have to apologize for how you treat yourself. I could get to think about myself fast. I've been through all of my experiences over the years.
Zoe: *hearing*
Alice: Life has changed; you should change. Whenever your heart feels inside of it.
Zoe: *hearing*
Alice: Sophomore year will be good for you without lousy energy. You would have to learn something different.
Zoe: I did a fantastic job on my own; the semester has gone a little too far for me, but I really am.
Alice: *hearing*
Zoe: I guess I'll see you after vacation.
Alice: *nods softly*
Zoe: *tried to leave*
Alice: Zoe? *stands up*
Zoe: *turns around*
Alice: Thank you for your apology.
Zoe: *smiles a bit and leaves*
In U.S. History, the rest of the students have free time in the class because of the last day; Jesse is looking around, chilling himself while he looks at Travis, confronting Ms. Moore, as he gets up to walk over to them.
Jesse: Travis, let me talk to you real fast.
Travis: What's up?
Jesse: I...I'm not continuing this school in the fall because I'm moving.
Travis: Wow...I...I didn't expect this shit. Mainly, you got my phone number to call.
Jesse: Yeah. It's always having the numbers at each other.
Travis: *gives him a high-five with palm*
Jesse: *doing the same*
Travis: *walking around*
Maggie: Travis?
Travis: *sits on the desk* Maggie, what's up?
Maggie: I hope the next semester is going to be the same.
Travis: Really? I hope everything will be another option throughout the semester.
Maggie: I would never quit to fall apart like cutting class, which I didn't. It would be best if you cooked it up as well. Look in the mirror.
Travis: *hearing*
Maggie: Most new students are coming around anytime soon.
Travis: Make you feel blessed.
Maggie: *hearing*
Liliana and Zoe enjoyed themselves while walking around the hallway during the last day of Reading/Writing class. Zoe followed Liliana, taking care of her bookbag when they checked out of each room since the students were enjoying the same thing.
Zoe: I'm going to miss you already. Liliana, you're soft, and I know this.
Liliana: I would be kept forgive you, Zoe. We're going to give out the prize.
Zoe: *hearing*
Liliana: I wouldn't be stuck at home in summer; my cousins and I are going somewhere in the town.
Zoe: Well, good luck with your family without being bored.
Liliana: Yeah.
After school, math teacher Cashmere Warren takes a lot of his stuff right after he finishes the last day of his job to say goodbye to their student while he's putting into the car. Tobias Menziel walks over to him to help him out.
Tobias: Good luck in your next career.
Cashmere: It is always my pleasure on you, coach.
Tobias: Be careful on your road.
Cashmere: *gets in the car and drives away*
Tobias: *looks around and at the school building* It seems my job is done for this semester. What a happy day. *gets in the car and drives away as well*
