Chapter 6
(Christine's POV)
I waited after school for Erik. My folders were in a huge bunch in my embrace and my bag was resting over my right shoulder.
I checked my phone for time. 2:30. Where could he be? I wondered, but immediately saw him coming.
'Okay...'
"I am sorry that I came so late, but I was finishing a test." He apologized as so as he neared me.
"It's okay. I came a bit late too, so you shouldn't worry." I smiled at him and a folder slipped out of my hands. Erik, however, quickly caught it and asked: "Do you need help with the folders?"
'No guy has ever asked if he could help me...' I thought to myself.
"Sure, you can carry about a half of them, and I'll have the other half." I poured about five or six folders into his arms and he was smiling at me the whole time.
I quickly fetched my red scarf as we went by the lockers and Erik helped me to put in the few folders I didn't need to do homework from.
We exited the building and went a few minutes until we came along my house.
"May I stop home to put away these folders?" I asked carefully.
He turned his head and answered: "Of course. Why couldn't you? It's your home."
I have to say, I have never met a nicer guy in my life.
Erik stopped at the fence and sat down on the extended little piece of it.
I ran inside and upstairs, into my room. I put the folders into the little bookshelf which I marked 'Homeworks'. I threw my bag onto my bed and took just my phone.
As I ran down the stairs, my mom came into view.
"Hi Chrissy! Where are you rushing?"
"Um, my friend is waiting for me outside."
My mom gave me the look that I believe is called the 'swag face'.
"Don't do anything nasty, darling."
"Mom!" I yelled. She really has to tease me, doesn't she?
I went outside, finding Erik on the fence and Aeisha by him, purring.
"I see you and Aeisha like each other." He looked at me and Aeisha crawled over his knees to me. I scratched her head behind her ears and under her chin.
I took Aeisha into my arms and she put her front paws onto my shoulder, her tail waving side to side on the other shoulder.
We arrived at a very tall house with black walls and an outer balcony on the ground level.
"We're here." Erik said as we stopped at the beautiful black fence. He opened the door and we walked along the cobble pathway.
We came to the grand door in the front and Erik opened them.
"Ladies and angels first." He said with a smile.
I returned him the smile and stepped inside.
'A guy just called you an angel, Christine!' I internally screamed at myself.
The inside of the house was as beautiful as the outside. I hanged my blazer onto the hanger by the door and also my bag.
Erik lead me into a room up the stairs and at the end of the corridor. Behind the door was a gorgeous room with a high ceiling and a chandelier. The walls were decorated with paintings. On the side was a majestic organ and opposite it was a black piano.
"This is so beautiful!" I squeed. This was perfect.
Erik came to the piano and picked out a few papers from the matching cabinet next to the piano.
I neared him. "Are you going to play to me?" I asked, pointing at the scores.
"I will, only if you accompany me." He said as he came closer and handed me half of the scores.
I gulped. I wasn't sure if my voice was in good condition today.
I opened the script and read the title.
"Rolling Girl" I read the beautiful handwritten title. "What is it about?"
"You will find out as you sing." Erik smiled and sat down on the bench.
I took my spot next to him, straightened my back and prepared my lyrics.
Erik began to play the soft melody on the piano and I joined in with my voice.
"Lonely girl is dreaming all the day
Of things she knows are far away
Screaming out, all the voices in her head
Are now eating away, hear them eating away
"I'm just fine" her breathing out of sigh
You know those words are just gone with the wind?
So, she fell short, more and more
Thinking back to where she had made made the mistake again,
Can't find it, so I'll roll on!"
Erik joined me in singing the chorus.
"One more time, one more time!"
"Please, just let me toll for another day!"
I sang as I was still amazed at his voice.
"That's what she said, what she said
Don't you know the meanings are hidden under cover?!"
"One more time?"
Erik's voice echoed in the room.
"Just a little more,"
I replied, clutching my score in my hands.
"Waiting 'til the day I see the end"
"I'll stop this breath from seeping out...
For now!"
Erik played an another part on the piano, smiling at me the entire time. I was entranced by his magical eyes that I almost missed my line.
"Rolling girl has given it her all
It's just too far, the hue she recalls...
Screaming out, all the voices hurt her head
They're now mixing around, hear them mixing around!"
I caught myself staring at him again. I quickly turned my eyes away, so he wouldn't get a wrong message.
""I'm just fine" still breathing out of sigh
You know, those words are gone with the wind?
No matter what 'I'm fine' and such
So watch me climb the hill
That I know I will always fall from
Guess I'll roll again!"
I winked at Erik, because our next part of singing togheder was coming.
"Yeah, one more time, one more time!"
"Please, just let me roll for another day!"
"That's what she said, what she said
Whispering the meanings she has hidden under cover!"
Our voices blended in unison. I felt the strange tingly sensation in my stomach once more.
"One more time?"
Erik asked, litterally looking through my soul.
"Just a little more"
I layed my hand on his shoulder. He stiffened at my touch, but relaxed over a while.
"Waiting 'til the day I see the end."
I whispered, trying to stare into his soul, but he resisted.
"I'll stop this breath from seeping out...For now
One more time, one more time
"Please just let me roll for another day!"
"That's what you said..."
Erik sang softly into my ear.
"That's what I said..."
I fell into a sort of trance by his melodic voice.
"Don't you know the meanings are hidden under cover?"
"One more time?"
Erik asked carefully with the tenderness and care I never heard in anybody's voice.
"Stop, it's fine..."
I whispered as he was only a few inches away.
"Aren't you getting tired of doing this?"
We were so close...He was singing into my ears and I was drowning in him; his eyes, his moves, his everything...
"I'll stop your breath from holding out...for now..."
We sang, our two voices becoming one. So near, I couldn't resist the sudden urge. So, I leaned forward and onto his lips...
