Horrifying Halloween

The glass shatters, and the room goes black, save for one white light reflecting over the face of a young man with a skeletal mask, the light appearing to come from his hand. His mouth is not covered, the make only over the top half of his face. He speaks, his voice full of rage as his eyes, which can be seen, shake, blood shot as the veins on the side of his head throb, his rage filled eyes looking into mine. He speaks quickly.

"Emmret," he explains, almost yelling, as if trying not to when on the brink of screaming, "threat identified. You are a threat. Now you will know my pain."

"Easy easy," I plead, "I'm twice your size and-"

I blink, and in that time he goes from one end of the room to right in my face, which he grabs with his left hand, digging his nails into my cheeks. Laughing.

"Let him go!" A partygoer yells, charging.

"I'm not here for you!" The masked man exclaims, kicking the partygoer in the ribs, filling the now silent room of onlookers, who are horrified, with a cracking sound. He throws me onto the middle of the dance floor, sending a shooting pain up my spine. I get back up.

"Why are you doing this!?!" I demand as blood drips from my face.

He growls, now slouched over, a feral rage in his eyes as he approaches, ready to kill like a rabid animal as he speaks, "threats hurt sister. Emmret, men like you ruined my life without laying a finger on me."

I lunge at him, picking a shard of glass off the ground which he not only sidesteps but takes from me and stabs me with.

"Agh!" I cry out, blood now dripping from my left forearm.

"Listen to me!" I demand, "it's family business if my parents let me just parties and let me drink! Not yours! Not anyone's! It's our choice as teens-"

Before I even finish, he begins foaming at the mouth with fury, and in his wide eyes I see a desire to kill. He tries to speak, but what comes out of his wrath consumed mind is a series of growls and snarls as, on all fours, he leaps at me, biting deep into my stomach, ripping flesh with his teeth. I scream for help to no avail. No one reacts as he lifts me up, bleeding from the torso where three diffent chunks of flesh are missing, and throws me through the glass walls of the indoor pool and into the water where he laughs madly.

"Red water!" He yells, "the blood of those who poisoned her beyond repair with that wretched red. Come out! I'm just getting started!"

I manage to catch my breath, breaking the surface of the blood stained water as he attacks other members of the football team, clawing at them, biting them, snapping arms and legs like one would snap glowsticks.

I get out of the water, gasping for breath, only for him to leap at me, forcing me to crawl backwards.

I plead, "stop! Please! I'll call the police!"

"The police!?!" He howls with laughter, "they don't fucking care! If they did I would be calling them rather that attacking! Instead I have to beat every single one of you so you all know your place."

He grabs my shirt collar and begins punching me again and again.

"I must protect my herd from wolves like you. With each and every one you hurt in my herd, you indicte my fury."

I reach into my pocket and slowly pull a knife so he doesn't notice with each blow to my broken cheekbone I take, I hold back cries of agony until he pulls back, allowing me to stab him. He steps back, smiling as he pulls the knife from his wound, the wound closing quickly.

"Thanks for the knife," he smirks.

He leaps at me, as I cry, afraid for my life as he stabs my arms and legs, before leaving the knife in my left arm, laughing, as he breaks my right leg by getting in a hold, leaving me a beaten, broken, crying mess.

"If I hear about another party," he glares, "I'll finish the job. Goodbye Emmret."

He exits the pool, the others giving him a wide area as he leaves, he looks back at me, the Devil himself in the masked man's eyes as blood, not even his own, drips from his mouth. What I see is no man, but a monster. A demon. Bloodlust. Wrath. A man so consumed by rage he almost killed me. Why? Why?...

I awaken in the hospital God knows how much later, my leg in a cast. I notice something on the desk next to me. Flowers? What the? There's a note too. Wonder what it-

Oh God!

"I meant it," the note reads, made of cut up letters from magazines, "one more kid starts drinking because of you, and I will end your life.-Skull."

I break down crying. God no! No! No more skeletons! Keep him away! Keep him away!

Images flash in my mind of his smile. Images of a devil. Images of wrath. I won't let him hurt anyone else! Skull must be stopped! He's a monster! Whether what I do is wrong or not is irrelevant in the face of such bloodlust! Such horror!

I look outside, to see a green fog over the parking lot outside the window as I look out over it. What the-

"So you do have The Gift after such an encounter," a voice speaks. I turn to see Beth, with wolf ears?

"Did I hit my head?" I ask.

The wolf ears disappear as she smiles, "no no Emmret. You have what is called The Gift. I wanna ask you something. Do you wanna continue what you're doing without fear of Skull?"

I nod.

"Very well," Beth replies, "then let me explain. This is the Black Sun Dawn..."
