Seto anxiously stood next to Brice as the two challengers stood towards the end of the room, informing Miss Rosenthal about the upcoming battle. Though being a powerful person he was, Seto's thought of cooperation and teaming seemed a bit too "irrational," or possibly not "idealistic" for his own taste. He could decently protect himself when concerning situations that were bound to bring trouble, but at this time he didn't expect anything to escalate this far.

"They both specialize in hand-to-hand combat since they're both singular Summoner II users. In addition, they use axes and bows with special enhancements at their pleasing, which you'll have to watch out for as well." Brice informed, opening up his hologram and scrolling to the database, "I've beaten those two many times, they're extremely persistent. They have been improving, but since it's Tag Team, I can do most of the work."

"Tag Teaming?" Seto asked, his voice lingering in a bit of an accent.

"One person can freely fight the opponent to their pleasing. Both competitors can choose to opt out by 'tagging' their teammate into the battle." Brice explained, closing the hologram and sighing. "For most of the part, I would most likely be taking on Jerome, since Mitch has been wanting to battle you. Jerome will most likely give it his all for Mitch until I am the one who drops, then that will force you to switch out. Mitch has a more reckless personality, so be warned for that. I won't drop easily, though."

"You dropped for me." Seto blandly said in monotone. Brice lifted his arms up in defense while chuckling.

"I o-obviously wasn't giving my all—" Brice chuckled, scratching the back of his neck while looking down towards the dusty floor. "I was going easy on you!"

"Quiet, they're coming towards us now." Seto hushed, elbowing Brice in the stomach. Brice winced but then straightened his posture a bit.

"Alright, the Double Team is set up!" Mitch cheered, clasping his hands together.

"Double Team? I thought you said this was a Tag Team!" Brice had retorted, his teeth gritting to together. Mitch threw out a sinister laugh as he turned.

"Whoops~" He snarled, strolling towards the east end of the battlefield. Jerome quickly jogged behind him, the two giddy and filled with enthusiasm. Seto began to make his way towards the west end of the battlefield; Brice slowly shuffled behind him.

"There will be a Double Team battle occurring in ten minutes! Prince Brice Purton Solace and Seto Kaji will be teaming up against the formidable team of Mitchell 'Hunter' Hughes and Jerome Aceti! Please come watch!" The familiar noise of the robot's malfunctioning static flooded through the school, putting everyone in shock and alert.

Little by little, students began to flood into the battle grounds. Seto's eyes shifted around, somehow managing to spot Kyle in the crowd. He gulped, feeling his palms sweat as he turned to face towards Brice, who of which was slouching a bit and seemed to be deep in thought. Seto decided it wouldn't be rational to interrupt the blond, he could possibly think of a plan that could benefit the two of them and take down the enemy.

"Auntie, have you fought alongside Headmaster and Mama once?" A five year old Seto had asked, his eyes glistening in the artificial lights. He held a police car in his small, pale hands.

"Ah, well..." his aunt had begun, frowning, "being alongside your deceased Mother and your Father has been proven as a difficulty."

"How?" Seto perked up.

"One of the many difficult things about being a Sorcerer is that you cannot supposedly fight alongside being, for as your Sorcery will cancel out—unless you have been trained and skilled enough to do so; like the armies. The only exception is that you have a deep faith in the other person; in which it could be shared. Your hearts will sync into one, and it will be a dynamic experience. I hope you experience that one day, child. Your Mother's heart was one of the kindest souls out there, pure and full of forgiveness. She could match her heart up with anyone, whether it would be the cruelest of people, like your Father, or the silent spoken." His aunt explained, tearing up.

"Is my heart like Mama's?" Seto questioned.

"Only time will tell, my darling. I hope you will grow up to be like your Mother; she was a kind, gentle being that loved everything and everyone. She gave up her life energy to bring you into the world, she loved you very much, Harvey. Maybe when you are older, you will become a fair and graceful Headmaster, unlike your Father. I hope you grow to be loving and kind, just like your Mother was."

She took a breath, then continued, "It's funny how your fate will work; you were born to both a destiny of evil and good, duality perhaps. You are not good, and you are not evil; you are solace. You are the one who gives comfort in a time of distress. Your older brother is the same, but there's something about him that doesn't give me the same calming vibe as you do."

Seto teared at the memory, but wiped it away with his sleeve. He felt a slight tap on his shoulder, then turned around to see Sub. He handed his blindfold to Seto, quickly signing, "This will help you use your Eye Ability without them noticing, it's quite helpful. I wish you the best of luck, I will try my best not to interfere."

Seto nodded as he watched the Sorcerer in green stroll away, disappearing into the crowd of chattering students. He put the blindfold on, his eyes hidden and able to see through it as he shifted his eyes to the color of purple. Brice tapped his shoulder, mouthing, "Can you see through that?" Seto simply nodded.

Soon enough, the principal clasped her hands together. It was loud, almost like a large bullet shooting the wall. The room went silent, then the principal spoke. "Alright, students. This will be a Double Team battle with allied forces Seto Kaji and the Prince of Hybrids, Brice Purton Solace, and the formidable duo Mitchell 'Hunter' Hughes and Jerome Aceti. Please, contain your excitement and don't try to shoot one of them while they were battling. Boys, please refrain from killing each other, we've had that a lot. Don't worry, you'll be healed."

The groups nodded, getting ready in their stances.

"Three." Miss Rosenthal counted down.

"Two." Some students joined in with the countdown.

"One!" All of the students yelled and clapped their hands, excited for the battle.

Brice's arms began to roar with electricity as he was dashing foreword. He aimed for Mitch, who seemed to be the stronger one out of the two. Summoning his enchanted diamond axe, Mitch threw a swing at the blond. Brice had grunted, blocking the attack with an electric shield that was summoned last minute. He threw a kick towards Mitch's stomach, causing the other to wince and absorb the pain. He was focused on getting Mitch away from Seto; he knew that his weakness was hand to hand combat, which Mitch had accelerated at.

Jerome summoned his enchanted diamond axe as well, quickly running towards Seto and jumping up, aiming for the brunet's head. Seto's eyes flashed purple in surprise. Not knowing if his Sorcery would properly function, he saw an available weak spot and quickly threw a wind gust, launching the other backwards across the field. The dust began to increase during the battle, the blindfold had helped Seto get dust out of his eyes. Brice managed to summon electrical goggles, which had slightly blocked his vision but kept the dust out of his eyes.

Mitch managed to fake a kick, causing Brice to block his stomach with his left arm in surprise for a brief moment. He used this opening to jab at his chest with his axe's handle, causing Brice to cough up blood. He was pretty sure he felt something crack in his ribs, but he ignored it. Mitch smirked, signaling Jerome to switch places. Jerome and Mitch darted past each other while Brice was recovering. The blond widened his eyes, quickly launching himself foreword with his electricity and toppling himself over Mitch.

Seto stepped back in surprise as the two boys landed in front of his feet. Using this, Jerome slashed at Seto's pale cheek, hoping to get a decent amount of blood to leak out. To his surprise, Seto quickly blocked with his arm, a layer of ice on his forearm preventing any severe damage. The enchanted diamond axe managed to cut through and pierce Seto's skin, but it was like a large paper cut; annoying and not as bloody.

As Jerome recoiled, Seto quickly began to slice the other with small, wind daggers. They cut through his clothes and pierced his skin, soaking his attire in blood. He aimed for the points where the specific body part would need to bend, for as that would cause the most suffering. Jerome furrowed his eyebrows, obviously in pain. He shook it off as he attempted to dodge the onslaught of wind daggers as he went to slice Seto's chest. The brunet barely managed to dodge. His footsteps were light; elegant, while Jerome was stomping while swinging his axe furiously.

Brice struggled to breathe, but he still continued to battle. He threw a punch at Mitch's ribs for a type of "payback," then punched him randomly. Mitch, since he has the disadvantage of being under Brice, covered his face and body with his arms. The blond decided to kick it up a notch by beginning to bolt him with electricity, causing the Canadian to squirm. Mitch quickly whistled, drawing Jerome's attention.

Seto felt his heart skip a beat as he saw Jerome summon a bow and a singular arrow. The trajectory that Jerome had was perfect at his standing point, the arrow could easily go through Brice's head without his own knowledge. He saw the other take a breath in, focusing, then positioning the arrow between his fingers and the bow. He pulled back, then released.

"STOP IT!"

"STOP IT!"

"STOP IT!"

Seto's next move was slick, fast, and reckless. Within midair, he changed the bow's course towards the one who fired it; Jerome. He gasped, the arrow piercing through his chest and out his back. He widened his eyes, coughing up blood and falling backwards and onto the ground. The dirt floor below him disappeared, causing him to fall into the darkness of the underground to be, what Seto assumed, healed. Of course, he did feel guilty but it didn't really matter; one down and one more to go.

Brice smirked, but the sneer was quickly faded as Mitch managed to sit up, shoving the blond away and quickly running towards Seto. Brice plopped onto the dirt floor, hitting his head. He recoiled, trying to make himself stand up. His hair was now a dirty blond, and his outfit was all messy. The electric goggles had disappeared, his vision was now crisp and clear. His blue orbs shifted around to see Seto dodging Mitch's moves, his footsteps seeming to be as light as a feather.

Seto was tired, his body was aching and ready to give. His mind was blank, he couldn't think of a reacting move. Mitch, on the other hand, was leading the other towards Brice's direction. He planned for the two to recklessly topple over each other. He would swing at Seto, and, knowing Brice, would hit the blond instead, causing him to be eliminated. It would leave him and the brunet alone; his main purpose and goal. Brice wouldn't let Seto get hurt, he wasn't a futuristic thinker concerning different chain of events.

Seto continued to lightly dodge as Mitch threw his purposeful reckless hits. Mitch's eyes shifted as he saw Brice turning, the timing was perfect. He threw one last swing that aimed upwards towards his chin, causing the brunet to jump back a bit farther. He landed onto the blond. The two toppled down onto the dirt ground; with Brice softening Seto's fall. Not exactly how Mitch had wanted it, but it could work. Seto's eyes went back to chocolate brown, startling the brunet.

Mitch breathed in, lifting the axe over his head and slamming it down, aiming it toward's Seto's chest. Brice didn't have time to think as he quickly blocked it with the palms of his left and right hands. The blood slowly oozed on Seto's chest, making the Sorcerer gasp. Mitch smirked evilly as he intensified his power, causing the axe to dig deeper into Brice's palms. He winced in pain, holding back the screams. Seto gulped, his heart pounding out of his chest. He couldn't use his Sorcery to summon wind, fire, ice, or water.

"The only exception is that you have a deep faith in the other person; in which it could be shared. Your hearts will sync into one, and it will be a dynamic experience."

Did Brice trust him, or could he trust Brice?

"Do something Seto!" Brice grunted, his voice cracking, "I don't know if I could hold it much longer—!"

Seto gulped, his hands shaking and twitching light streaks of purple. He felt Brice's chest heavily breathing up and down, and his heart not in a calm, collected composure.

Why did it work before? The most plausible accusation would be that the two boys would not be fighting against a singular enemy within the beforehand, they fought within their own abilities without the reliance of others. Now that there is a singular entity, it messes up the whole cycle. Seto was still blank in thought.

The blood dropped down on his chest in an increasing amount. Seto, without his own realization, kicked Mitch in his groin. A loud snap! could be heard, followed by Mitch toppling onto the ground and squealing silently in pain. Brice and Seto stood up, the Prince of Hybrids tried his best not to laugh. He faced Seto, ignoring the opportunity to attack Mitch and had asked, "Are you alright?"

Seto blinked, gazing at Brice's wounded hands, "I-I'm alright! I should be the one asking you!"

"Well..." Brice turned, laughing at the other who had been on the floor. He strolled up to him, quickly kicking him harshly in the head. Mitch didn't give in, for as he quickly picked up his axe and had gotten ready to throw. Seto reacted fast, freezing Mitch's hand.

'Anticlimactic.' Seto thought to himself.

Brice continuously kicked Mitch's head, to the point in which blood was visible. The Canadian gave in, his eyes shifting around frantically as they shut and his body going limb.

They won.

They won their first battle together as a "Team."
