Seto groaned as he sat up in bed, his hair messy and his eyes stinging at the arising sun. He shifted his orbs around the ever so familiar room. He assumed he had fell asleep on the hillside the night before while gazing at the stars with Brice; which would explain why he would be taken here in the first place. He swung his feet towards the creaky wooden floor and fixed the covers; it was the least thing he could do for the Hybrid's kindness. Stretching, he shuffled out of the room.
He was greeted with a pleasant aroma, an unfamiliar one to say the least. His eyes shifted around the dining room before spotting the blond in the kitchen. He whistled as he was washing, trying to get the grease off the surface of it. He turned, smiling at the brunet as he gave a small wave, "Morning, Seto. I made us both breakfast—waffles, an omelet, and bacon. The bacon is kinda burnt though, hope you don't mind that."
Seto stayed silent, before speaking, "...what's bacon?"
Brice gasped, dramatically placing the half-decently cleaned pan back into the sink. He dried his hands and quickly grabbed the two plates that were sitting on the side. He placed them down on the dining table, then spoke, his eyes seeming to sparkle with a flaming passion, "It's only the best food in the world! It's crispy, bacony, delicious! Only pizza and fries top it, but pizza with fries that are drowned with cheese and bacon is the most heavenly thing on the planet Seto! Honestly, you're missing out—let's eat!"
"Well, alright." Seto had shrugged, sitting down in one of the four chairs. Brice sat next to him, quickly beginning to eat his food. Seto chuckled at Brice's behavior.
Brice had realized this, turning his head as his mouth was full of waffles, "Mmphat?"
"Brice, that's gross." Seto giggled, playfully pushing the blond away. Brice finished chewing and had swallowed his food. He wiped his mouth with his black pajama sleeve and continued stuffing his face.
Seto hesitantly poked at his food. Seeing as Brice was nearly done with his own, Seto began to quicken his pace. The eggs were good, considering they were sloppily placed together in an omelet with a smiley face, that was made up of ketchup, on top. The waffles tasted sweet, a bit too sweet for his liking. It was drowned in honey and maple syrup, but it tasted fine. Then there was the bacon—it was fattening due to the fact that there was a lot of oil. He took a small bite into it, the taste was a bit too salty and greasy. He couldn't understand why a person would have a meal like this, but he figured he would burn off the calories anyway.
After a few minutes, the two finished eating. Brice took Seto's and his own plate and plopped it into the sink, he figured he would wash it later. Quickly dashing towards his own room, he changed his clothes. He decided to throw on a long sleeved golden shirt, a short sleeved black shirt with a skull on it, and ripped jeans. Slipping his socks on and putting on his converse shoes, he dashed back to where Seto was standing. He seemed to be in a daze.
"So, did you like the food?" Brice smiled.
Seto blinked, turning around. "Yeah, it tasted pleasant."
His eyes lit up, "Great! Now, let's hurry up, we have to get to school."
Seto nodded as he followed the blond out the door and out of the house. He made sure to shut the door behind him as he shuffled his feet across the porch and down the three steps that led onto the pavement. He stood next to Brice, humming quietly while shoving his hands into his purple hoodie pocket. He was wearing the same outfit as the night before; a light purple hoodie, black jeans, and his galaxy vans. Brice smiled, throwing his protective arm around the brunet's shoulders once more. Seto's lips curved into a small smile as well, he could get use to living like this.
It was a couple minutes of silence before they arrived at the courtyard which led to the School of Creation. There were students buzzing outside of the school as they entered, voices loud, euphoriant, and yet grim at the same time. Seto's eyes turned a light shade of purple as he scanned the crowd, trying to find a trace of Kyle. All he could find was another Sorcerer, Sub, who had been walking alone towards the back of the crowd. His eyes went back to the bland color of chocolate brown.
"I'm going to head off to my class, missions start today so I assume you'd want to work with me, right?" Brice stopped as he went inside, standing at the corner of the door. Onlookers gazed in shock, seeing the brunet and the blond, supposed enemies, conversing.
"Alright." Seto nodded. Brice quickly wrapped his arms around the brunet, bringing him in a tight hug. Seto stiffened, but smiled.
"Take care of yourself, alright? If you see Kyle in the hall, ignore him. If he does anything to you he will pay." Brice said, letting go.
Seto nodded, "You don't need to be like this, it's only for about three periods in which we would be separated."
"I'm just making sure, alright?" Brice confirmed, ruffling the brunet's soft, silky hair. He began to walk off, disappearing into the crowd as he waved, "Bye bye~!"
Seto gave a small wave before heading off into the sea of people. It was loud, bustling, many pushed and shoved to get their way through the crowd. Seto couldn't see up the array of heads, mostly because his height was significantly smaller than the others. He couldn't help but feel watched, for as there was a feeling of something lurking behind him at every move. He shrugged it off and headed up the stairs, trying his best not to slip or trip on his own two feet.
He eventually stumbled his way into Mr. Wyei's classroom, situating himself in the corner of the room. The desk was recently drawn on in red market with the words "X Was Here." Seto scrunched up his nose, switching seats. The desk he was now sitting at was clean, spotless without vandalism, just how Seto had liked it. He spotted Sub sitting to the left of him, fiddling with his blindfold.
"Do you have any emotions for the Prince, Seto?" Sub signed, staring at the brunet in the eyes.
Seto gazed around; Mr. Wyei was staring at the two. He decided to stay safe and sign back, "No."
"You spent all weekend with him, you even slept together in bed." Sub smirked while Seto's face went completely red.
"We were talking on the hillside and I had fallen asleep!" Seto sloppily signed, "I'm only doing this because I want Brice for—"
"Gathering information." Sub finished. "Your ways are amusing, I wouldn't be shocked if the Hybrid had developed emotion for you either. You don't want to recreate what happened to your brother, correct?"
"How do you know what happened?" Seto signed.
"I use to be his power source, do you not remember mentioning it to you before we made the agreement?" Sub's smile grown from ear to ear, "I'll just replay a crucial memory into your head, it'll feel like you'll have a migraine at first before it quickly fades into your mind. I'll freeze time in the meantime, only you and me will feel time going past."
Quickly, the Sorcerer in green had casted a spell. Mr. Wyei widened his eyes, attempting to stop it as he dashed towards the scene. It was too late, their surroundings around them froze as the memory began to sink it. Seto held his head, his eyes widening as a shrieking pain travelled through his head and his screams erupting. He fell backwards, hitting his head and passing out. The last thing he had saw was Sub's taunting smile, waving, "Bye bye~!"
It was strange, the air was crisp and cool. Seto gazed at his hands, pale and semi-transparent. On his pinky finger was a purple string that was attached to someone within the fog of some kind of battlefield. Seto coughed, the air and fire making his eyes tear and his nose itch. He could sense a power source radiating from the end of the room, he began to follow it.
The air began to get more fumed. Seto's eyes managed to adjust to see a woman in royal attire laying down on the golden floor, eyes shut and a pool of blood coming out from her stomach, arm, and head. A blond boy sat at her side, his crystal blue eyes flooding with tears as he screamed, "WAKE UP!"
Was that Brice?
While the screaming continued from the young boy, Seto turned his attention to the purple string. It was attached to a boy, a Sorcerer to be specific, with overwhelming power. A silhouette that was completely downed in black stood over him, thrashing at another boy, Hybrid, who was managing to block with his own elemental.
"This isn't like you!" The Hybrid screamed, continuing to block, "Snap out of it!"
The Sorcerer sneered, eyes becoming red. The power seemed to have rose as the ground began to shake. "Stop? I've only started!" The voice was demonic. It wasn't like the silky, calming voice Seto remembered as a child.
The two continued to battle; the Insane vs the Triumpher. Seto stepped back, the overwhelming power scaring him. He didn't want to see anymore, he held his head in pain and screamed. The Hybrid downed his elementals, walking towards the Sorcerer. "Are you going to lose to the insanity, after all this trouble we went through?"
The Sorcerer didn't stop attacking. A black Sorcery bullet struck to his shoulder, the Hybrid continued to walk, "We need to defeat the leader to get the peace that Sorcerers and Hybrids both need."
The Sorcerer growled, stepping back into the wall. The Hybrid continued walking, enduring another bullet through the leg. "Stop this—remember everything that we've gone through!"
The Hybrid and Sorcerer stood face to face, the Hybrid quickly bringing him into a hug. The Hybrid spoke, resting his chin on his shoulder, "We can't let our friends go to waste! Do you want to lose everyo—!"
The Hybrid gasped, coughing out blood. The Sorcerer had summoned black spikes to go through his stomach, they were large and stiff. They disappeared as the Hybrid fell to the ground, spitting out blood and eyes still wide opened. His breathing stopped, the Sorcerer stood bloodied and smiling.
"One by one they'll all fall to my feet." He sneered as he held his left eye, laughing. "No one will stand in my way~!"
The young blond stood up, tears still streaming down his face as he turned towards the Sorcerer. He clenched his fist, screaming, "Y-You monster—! I should have never let anyone trust y-you! Do you have no recollection, no feeling! I'll—I'll kill you!"
"Don't make me laugh." He grinned as she stroll towards the boy, picking him up by the throat. "You remind me of my younger brother, but Hybrids deserve to perish, burn to the flame of ignition!"
Slowly, the blond began to scream as his hand became a flame. Seto widened his eyes, quickly pushing the Sorcerer over. Somehow, he toppled over, groaning as the two made eye contact. The blond took the opportunity to run out of the castle and into the outside world, his neck burnt and in pain.
Seto gasped, stepping back as he went transparent. He covered his ears, shutting his eyes tightly, "Take me out of here, take me out of here, take me out of here—!"
The world faded back to the sickening color of black.
