Seto sighed, avoiding eye contact as he strolled down the Grand Hall. His head was held down as he felt eyes gazing at him in bewilderment; in wonder. In his sweaty palms, he grasped an envelope laced with black threading, as well as having a red sealing stamp with a Black Lotus design.
Dignity.
Judgement.
Wisdom.
Power — The four pillars that a Sorcerer must comprehend and use to an advantage.
Cruelty — Something that we were all born with.
Seto understood these "things," comprehensively to say the least. They were just words, simple phrases that Seto rarely took skin deep. Yet, everyday these words were put to an advantage to the person who decided to use them. Seto understood this as well.
Yet, here he was, strolling down a familiar hallway and down a path of dignity with judgmental eyes staring down upon him. Among his people he was considered a "hero," or possibly someone who was willing to risk their life for the sake of other people's fortune. Of course, it was the opposite of that, for as Seto's Father, otherwise known as "Headmaster," bestowed this mission upon him. In all honesty, it was more as to force.
As he stopped at the end of the hall, breathing slowly, Seto swiftly opened the two bulky, oak brown doors. Stepping into the room, he was greeted by his Father, as well as his other family members that had conveniently came to wish him the best of luck. Occasions like these were rare amongst Sorcerers, due to the fact that there is an uncanny amount of emotion to be shown. Seto didn't like this "emotion" ordeal one bit.
But, he managed to toss out a couple of words the best the could as he strolled past the sea of peoples' welcoming, smiling faces. Seto clenched his fist until his knuckles turned a paler white than his own flawless skin. His teeth grit sharply as he finally made his way through the crowd and up behind the curtain. His glossy, chocolate brown eyes peered over to see a crowd of Sorcerers awaiting his own speech, as well as his Father's, the Headmaster that most widely recognized.
Seto cursed under his breath at the thought of the Headmaster.
His sickening smile with his perfect, glossy teeth that were as bright as the sun. His hair that was an ashy oak color and his fringe that occasionally swept over his eyes. His pale green eyes that swirled with the color of hazel, and his perfect pale skin that complemented his eye color. His sharp jawline, and his perfect, well built figure. The Sorcerer Cloak he always wore; black and golden, that fell perfectly to the floor, almost like in a fantasy-like motion. That was the Headmaster, the Father that Seto had always knew and despised.
They weren't similar in appearance at all, with Seto having a brunet colored hair that he had inherited from his Mother, and a fringe that had grown too long, which resulted with it sweeping over his left eye. He had skin that was a snow white color, pale to say the least. His eyes were the natural color of a soft chocolate brown, which caused him to look like an outsider to most Sorcerers. His teeth were perfectly white, but he had to get braces when he was younger to keep them properly straight. And finally, despite his short stature of 5'4 ½, he wore a long, purple and black colored cloak that covered his face most of the time, which did not look elegant. The sleeves were outlined with a golden color, but slightly baggy. He also had a black and golden cape to match his Father's colors, which he hated.
Yet here he was, standing behind a lush, dark red curtain, waiting for his Father to finish his speech and welcome him onto the stage. The thought of public speaking shook him, especially since this was his first impression in front of his own people. No one has seen the supposed "Legendary Prince," and no one knew his true identity. To reveal that he was a short, frail looking male that probably shopped at Hot Topic was embarrassing enough. The fact that he could stutter on his words, or slur, makes it even worse.
In summary, he just panicked.
Judgement, Cruelty, and Dignity.
"Seto, are you alright?" A voice asked, tapping on his shoulder. Seto snapped out of his thoughts.
Seto stiffened, but managed to keep a calm-looking composure. "Yes. I am alright." He replied monotonously while turning around. He was faced with one of his older acquaintances, Kyle Komics.
"Look, you're nervous right? Just don't think about it, I mean, although it's your first time, you'll do fine. You're perfect. Your brother would say the same thing. Besides, what's the worse that can happen?" Kyle managed to smile, patting his back. "I'm coming with you as your personal protector, after all."
Seto winced at the thought of his older brother, but he brushed off the thought. "Alright. Thank you, Komics."
Kyle's smiled widened as he threw out a small laugh. "Just call me Kyle."
Seto nodded as he watched the fuchsia pink haired male walk away and seem to fade in the sea of people. He calmed his own breathing and poked his head out the curtain, attempting to listen to his Father's speech. It had looked like he had just started speaking as the crowd was listening with intent, yet settling in their seats.
"The Black Lotus X Members are laborious and preeminent Sorcerers that have been personally selected by me, Hayes Fuzen Sorcerer. Black Lotus X Members consists of four individuals, one of which is deceased. These members have familiarized themselves with the following rules;
Endurance.
Dedication.
Ingenousness.
Ruthlessness.
With these stanchions, Black Lotus X Members are given stability with their actions, along with maturity and proper consciousness to devise the correct standards for themselves. In summary, Black Lotus X Members are personality selected by me, Hayes Fuzen Sorcerer, and are at the top of their class. They should be respected, and have the regard of all Sorcerers whether young or old.
Now, knowing this information about the Black Lotus X Members, it has up brought the 'Creation of Arts' Mission, one of the first Black Lotus X Missions in years ever since the failure of Jason Universe Sorcerer, my eldest child out of two. The Creation of Arts Mission has been assigned to Harvey Seto Sorcerer, my second born child.
The Creation of Arts Mission is essentially a Mission that requires stealth, as well as a good judgement. Harvey Seto Sorcerer is required to go under the alias of Seto Kaji to gather as much information as possible within two months about the training, regulations, and influence of the Hybrids at one of the superlative training schools, the School of Creation. Once finished he will report back, and we, the Sorcerers, will finally conquer the wretched Hybrids.
Without further ado, here is Prince Harvey Seto Sorcerer."
Seto's heart seemed to pound out of his chest as he strolled past the curtain and out onto the podium. Many people gasped, but mainly people chattered about the "Legendary Prince." Taking a deep breath, Seto began to speak, recalling the speech he created a few hours prior.
Judgement.
"I request silence." Seto first said. The crowd went silent, following the order.
He continued, "My name is Harvey Seto Sorcerer, aged sixteen and second born of Hayes Fuzen Sorcerer. I have accepted the Creation of Arts, Black Lotus X Ranked, Mission.
The Creation of Arts Mission is essentially a Mission that requires stealth, as well as a good judgement. I will be required to go under the alias of Seto Kaji to gather as much information as possible within two months about the training, regulations, and influence of the Hybrids at one of the superlative training schools, the School of Creation. Once finished I will report back, and we, the Sorcerers, will finally conquer the wretched Hybrids with the information I have gathered. The start of this mission shall begin tomorrow.
Although my older brother, Jason Universe Sorcerer, deceased at only age thirteen and ranked Black Lotus X, has failed this mission seven years ago by getting caught and slaughtered by the Hybrid Ruler, I pledge to not recreate the same mistake as him and bring disappointment onto the Sorcerer name. I have personally selected a Black Lotus Member to be my escort, Kyle Komics, who will be promoted to Black Lotus X once the mission has concluded, and follows a success.
This meeting has concluded, you are all dismissed."
Seto turned, taking a deep breath in, and rushed behind the curtain where his Father stood. They both made eye contact for a moment, but Seto paused, expecting him to speak.
"Good work, son." His voice seemed to be laced with poison.
"Thank you, Father." Seto scoffed, brushing past him and through the now empty room.
As he strolled back towards the two, oak brown double doors, he frowned to himself, deep in thought. People were quite expectant of him, so he delivered their request, attempting to "impress" those who would want to defy him. Yet, he felt like something was missing, almost like a part of the story was lost in the swift, rushing waters of thought.
'What truly happened to Jason?
Why would I be assigned to a mission that was already predicted to fail once more?
What will happen if I, or Kyle, did get caught in the act?
How exactly powerful are the Hybrids?
Will Hybrids suspect me as a Sorcerer, or even worse, the Prince of Sorcerers?
Do Hybrids have the same principals as Sorcerers?
What exactly are Hybrids?'
"Seto, you're zoning out again." A voice said.
Kyle.
Seto blinked, realizing he was standing in the Grand Hall. Kyle stood by his side, seeming to be holding—a hairstylist magazine? He blinked, pretending he didn't notice then sighed, "Right."
The two started strolling down the Grand Hall. Kyle was the type to joke around, he was laid back and quite casual. He would be perfect for an escort, since no one would suspect anything of him due to his personality. Kyle had fuchsia hair that you could spot from miles away, along with a little pink scruff. His eyes were bright blue, almost the color of a blue diamond. It reminded Seto of Jason's eyes. His skin was a bit tanned, and he wore a purple-pink colored vest with a scarf and four buttons, all colored gray. His inside shirt was colored lavender, and his pants were colored a pinkish-purple as well. His shoes were what you'd expect—dark purple.
Despite his appearance, he still could be powerful when needed.
"Where are we going?" Seto finally asked, breaking the silence.
"You'll figure out later." Kyle smiled, patting the other on the head. Seto shot a glare, crossed his arms, and followed behind the other.
The two exited the Grand Hall and went outside. The air smelled of wet grass, and the concrete below them was covered in sticks and dirt. It was messy to say the least. In the sky were tumbling dark gray clouds, which threatened to give a lightning storm at any moment. Seto and Kyle's pace quickened, trying not to be caught in the storm. Seto put up his hood, thus covering his face. His eyes tried to adjust to the sudden change in light, but it slightly stung for as he was use to the darkness (even though there was barely any sunlight in the first place.)
As the two strolled down the sidewalk and away from the castle and into the public, the raven haired male couldn't help but feel hundreds of eyes staring down upon him. He adjusted his hood to droop lower than his chin, then grabbed Kyle's sleeve. Kyle blinked, understanding the situation and put his arm on the Prince's shoulder, guiding him in where he should walk. Seto only trusted Kyle to even touch him, and he was the only person who rarely saw his emotion. But, eventually, people began to catch on, surrounding the two as Seto was bombarded with questions and statements.
"Prince, are you sure you can take on this mission?"
"Prince, are you sure that you won't fail?"
"Majesty, are you sure that you won't need two guards?"
"Harvey! Will you be alright, everyone's worried about you!"
"What are your opinions about the Hybrids?"
"Look at him, so frail and petite, I bet I could beat him in a fight if I wanted to! He shouldn't be assigned to this mission, he'll fail like his brother!"
"It's the Prince! Rumor has it that he has the power to wipe out all Sorcerers with the snap of his fingers!"
"Didn't he go through a lot of abuse as a child, that's why he's so monotonous and emotionless most of the time?"
"I bet he won't last one second out there!"
"Have faith in the Prince, he is the new generation after all!"
"Have faith? The faith I have on him is dwindling!"
"Do you think you'll successfully complete this mission, Harvey?"
"Look at him, he's worthless and pitiful. He's only doing this because of Headmaster!"
"How will he manage as the new Headmaster once Fuzen gives it up?"
"He's so worthless."
Judgment.
Dignity.
Cruelty.
Endurance.
Ruthlessness.
Questions turned into statements and statements turned into harassment. Seto clenched his fist once more, visibly showing a ruthlessness that would be quick to erupt. As the crowd grew, and sight of Kyle began to disappear, Seto was ready to snap.
"Show them, Seto. Show them your power."
He pulled his hood down, revealing his pair of dark purple eyes. As his hair began to to lift up and the ground began to shake, the crowd trembled in fear. Lifting up his left arm, the color of bright purple could be seen from his hand. The purple began to grow in size around Seto's waist, but then began to create a pair of arms. Vigorously slashing his hand downwards, an explosion could be heard as the crowd was thrown backwards. A large crack in the ground was seen, separating the crowd from himself.
"Kill them off. Make them regret every word they said from their worthless mouths. Make them regret the words they said about your brother!"
Without hesitation, the arms grew longer and bigger in size. Slashing his arm upwards once more, the purple arms grasped the crowd in one big swoop. Now, raising both of his arms up, the purple arms carried the crowd 30 meters (98 feet) into the air. Thrashing both of his arms downward, the purple arms released the crowd by throwing them downwards. Screams could be heard, followed by another explosion as a couple hundred Sorcerers were thrown into the Earth, creating a crater that looked deep, most likely double the height that they were lifted.
"Mercy!"
The sudden impact caused a small fire to be cast around, as well as a powerful gust. The purple arms were wiped away by the wind, leaving purple sparks in the air. Seto's hair went back down, and his eyes went back to the color of a milk chocolate. Strolling to the crater, the Prince smiled to himself, finding most of the people dead.
"To the ones who managed to survive that..." Seto began a devilish smirk forming on his face.
"I was only using ten percent."
