Chicken
A/n: Hey, guys. I just wanted to let you know that I will be rewriting some Ninjago events in this story (you probably already know that!), but they won't be in the right order as my story doesn't quite work that way. Sorry about that!
Again, I do not own Ninjago.
Lloyd's POV
Kai was having a great time with Skylor. We could hear them laughing and joking from our table.
"Our Kai's growing up," Jay sighed and took a bite of his sandwich.
"I'm happy for him," I said, stirring my tea (courtesy of my uncle). "He does deserve a girl."
I looked at everyone sitting around me. "We all do- well, a boy in Nya's case. Though, gender doesn't matter...."
Jay blushed and snuck a glance at Nya. "Yeah, we all do deserve a girl...."
Cole sniggered. "And who do you have in mind, Jay?"
Jay blushed a darker shade. "N-no one...why do you ask?"
"No reason," Cole shrugged and took a bite out of a slice of cheesecake.
"You packed cake for lunch?" Jay asked, changing the subject drastically.
"That's not very healthy," Zane stated.
Cole put his fork down. "Dad said I could pack whatever I wanted for lunch, so I did." He counted the pieces in his lunchbox. "..Two, three, four, five different slices of cake- jam sponge, black forest gateau, cheesecake, classic chocolate and carrot cake, to be healthy."
"I'd hardly call that healthy," Nya said. "You also ate that Neapolitan cake at the beginning of Maths, remember?"
"It's a good thing you play touch," Jay swallowed the rest of his sandwich. "Or you'd be like....this huge." He stretched his arms out all the way to the sides.
"My parents don't allow me to eat anything sweet 'til the end of the day," I said enviously, checking my watch. "Hey guys, I gotta run. My English class is all the way at the other side of the campus. You're all coming over to my house after school, right?"
"Right!" they all chorused. "See ya!"
I waved in farewell and headed for my locker. The bell was going to ring in five minutes, and I still had to pick up my books...
I stopped. I'd just entered the Red Building, where my homeroom was. And there was a bit of a scuffle going on right in front of my locker.
A small, blond-ish boy wearing a blue shirt with a white rooster on it was getting pushed around by these other, funny-looking guys. One of them had his hair pulled back in a black ponytail, and was wearing the fakest tan I'd ever seen. He literally looked like a walking traffic cone.
"Why don't you fight back?" he growled at the boy, pushing him to the ground. "I know- you're just chicken- like the one on your shirt!"
His cronies laughed.
I'd seen enough. "Hey!" I yelled.
Everyone, including Traffic Cone, turned to stare at me.
"Why don't you go pick on someone your own size?" I started walking towards them.
"You wish," Traffic Cone smirked. "Who are you?"
"That doesn't matter," I growled. "Just leave the boy alone!"
"Make us," a new person spoke. He was holding two (toy?) pistols, and was wearing a large, black moustache and an odd green helmet with goggles. I almost laughed, he looked so ridiculous.
"It doesn't have to come to that," I replied. "Just leave him alone. Look at him! You've given him bruises." I walked towards him and held out a hand to help him up. "C'mon, let's get you some help."
Traffic Cone's smirk turned into a snarl. "No one tells the Captain what to do! Get him, crew-"
"Nadakhan Djinn! Just what do you think you're doing?" a lady rounded the corner. She had short, blondish-brown hair and was wearing a blue jacket. I think she was Kai and Jay's Spanish teacher. What was her name? Ms....Forests? Ms...Jungles?
"Ms. Woods!" Nadakhan turned around, plastering a fake smile on his face. "Me and my friends were....were just...playing! Yes, we were pretending to be...pirates."
"Well, its one minute to the bell, so I think you should get a move on!" she ushered them out of the building. "C'mon! Move it!" Then she turned to me and the boy. "But you two can take your time. I'll be with you in a minute."
