Joker got ready for school as he make his toast for a quick breakfast. Once his toast was ready he ran towards his door and ran towards school. He saw many people greeting him but didn't mind much. It all went well until he bumped into some red head. Akai, Joker thought.

"Akai, what are you doing in my way?!" He asked harshly. Akai smiled.

"Sorry I was about to catch you from those water balloons." He said pointing at some young children playing water balloons. Akai shivered at the thought.

"Ghee, water balloons. Nightmare fuel." He walked towards school. Joker followed him as he finished his toast.

"What's your business with water balloons?" Joker ask, in mind planing to go a water balloon prank on him.

"It's nothing much, I rather not talk about it." Akai said. Joker sighed.

"Fine. Oh and about the question you asked me yesterday, was it all of them?" Joker wondered. They reached the school gate and Akai sighed.

"Bingo, sadly yes." He said. He walked inside the school as fangirls started to call him, squeal at his arrival. Joker felt a bit weird and angry when those girls did that. He then shrugged it off and walked inside his classroom. He say Akai looking at the window watching the same white silver bird hanging there.

Joker was still wondering why he prefer to look at birds instead of other students. Is he a birdie type person? Well, his nickname is Phoenix, an ancient bird of mythology. Joker and Akai soon noticed a second bird came towards the little white birdie. It was red. A robin perhaps? He wasn't so sure. But it seems like they love each other based by both of it staying in the same nest. Akai smiled.

"How adorable, those two birds. A red and white, such a lovely combination besides purple and red together. What do you think, Joker?" Akai asked with a charming smile, a smile that Joker couldn't hold back from blushing at. Akai chuckled.

"Don't tell me you're blushing. Aww, you like me, Joker?" He tease. Joker blushed harder.

"No I don't! Besides, those two birds just like each other. And yes I think they're adorable okay?" He said and sat down. Akai smirked and took out his eraser, toss it at Joker and made a weird face that made Joker laughed.

"Why would you do that?!" Joker asked still laughing. Akai smiled.

"I just like your laugh. It's beautiful." He said. Joker turned red and look back at the front of the class. Akai sighed as his mind wondered, looking at the birds once again.

"Will me and Joker be like the two birds? Perhaps not..." He said and saw the teacher coming in. Mr Silver Heart.

"Morning class. It is I, Silver Heart! Today is Science class and since your teacher will be off for her medical pregnancy checkup I'll be taking over this class until she can return again. Now, I would explain on how lights works. Joker, please give me those matches if yours?" Silver Heart asked. Joker sighed and gave his matches he planned to make a fire place behind the school. He wanted to experiment something but looks like he won't be able to.

"Now, close the lights here please, Queen." Silver asked. His granddaughter nod and closed the lights and the room went dark.

"As you all know, shadows are created when the light can't shine at the object. Example, Cyan's big hair here." He pulled Cyan and placed a torch in front of him. Some of Cyan's hair blocked the light, created a shadow.

"So now you understand this principal, you can now officially call Cyan Shadow, the shadow of Joker!" He said jokingly. Akai chuckled.

"Now, can anyone tell me what will happen if the matches fire was set in front of the torch light?" He asked. Joker raised his hand.

"Yes, Joker?" Silver asked. Joker smirked.

"There won't be any shadow since the fire is already the source of light itself." He explained. Akai whistled at the answer.

"Very well done, Joker. I thought you're more than a nerd, and I was right." He said smirking. Joker blushed a bit.

"It was nothing." He said. Akai looked at the birds again next to his window. Eh, they have eggs now? How sweet. They'll be having baby chicks. They'll become... A family.

Family...

Akai sighed as his mind wondered about his family. His parents. How sad that because of a fire, their lives is now gone forever.

"Mom, dad! No! Don't leave me!"

The flaming fire burn his soul inside, he couldn't help but cry over it. Water being sprayed all over the home, only to see corpses of his decaying parents.

Why...

His childhood thought boom in his mind and heart.

Why...

One tear.

Why....

Two tears.

Why?

Three tears.

Why?!

His eyes opened rather quickly as Joker looked at him worriedly.

"Are you okay, Akai?" He asked. Akai sighed.

"I'm fine." He said rather bluntly. Joker was worried but decided to wait until after class. Perhaps Akai doesn't want to talk in public much. He is pretty new anyway.

Soon school was over and he packed his bag to leave the classroom. He thought of not waiting for Joker but then again, he is his friend. Friends stay together, his heart said.

"Hey Akai?" Joker asked as they both walked back to their home. Akai hummed.

"Yeah?" He said and stopped by a store to buy some sparkling water.

"Um, I want to know why you weren't focus much in class." Joker asked the question. Akai got quiet for a while before sighing, hugged Joker unexpectedly, bought him a soda and smiled sadly.

"I guess you need to find out yourself. If I give you options, it'll be too obvious." He said and walked towards his house. Joker sneakily followed him, saw his house, memorising it before rushed back to his home.

He grabbed his pen and papers to start writing possible answers, but none of them make sense. He sighed as he lay down on his bed, looking at the soda Akai bought him earlier. How thoughtful. He drank it and smiled sadly.

"I wonder why..." He asked himself as his eyes drifted off.

Akai however, didn't fall asleep. He looked at the moon at his rooftop as the cold breeze flows by smoothly. He took deep breath before smiling. He thought on how lucky he managed to find someone who worried about him like this. Joker. He wondered if that was actually his real name.

He jumped of the roof and walked towards a park. The park is quiet. He say down under a nearby tree and look at the shining moon and stars. He saw a Southern Cross, for some reason is particular favorite constellation. Perhaps it shows his eyes. It was pretty.

"Mom, dad. I hope you can hear me. Now, I'm actually being okay. But things hasn't been the same without you. It was hard and I barely have friends until I met Joker, and for some reason I have his weird feelings around him. Should I tell him? Please leave some answers for me." Akai smiled and walked back towards his house. He was still lonely.

He rushed towards bed and sleep like no tomorrow. His body was tired so sleeping is a must. His eyes was closed shut as midnight came.

He doesn't know that a few strangers were talking about him. They all smirked at their conversation and hide away in the shadows, waiting for tomorrow.
