Chapter Four
It was strangely comfortable in Stark's jet, it was smoother than most plane rides and it had reflective panels so no one could track the small group that was huddled in its cockpit. The air was warm from the heat of their bodies and breath but it was still spacious and had a great view. It was only about 5 minutes before the plane reached its first destination. The group on the jet suggested going to different places to figure out their powers. Everyone agreed to this and set out to go to different areas. The small group was tense since no one was steering the aircraft, and if Autopilot went out, someone would have to pilot the jet. Some of the others were off in their own jet to go to their own areas, so not everyone was in the one aircraft. Grace looked at everyone and then at the controls, "I want to go down into Manhattan to train and find a place to do it."
"Alright, let's just punch in some coordinates and we'll get you to Manhattan." Jordan said looking at the controls. The brown haired male furrowed his brows as he stretched a hand out to press a button before retracting it, "Well I am honestly not sure how to do this. It's not like we can say find us a landing point in Manhattan."
"Finding a safe landing spot in Manhattan." an electronic voice suddenly came.
Jordan blinked, "I stand corrected."
The Quinjet landed safely in Manhattan, a door opening for Grace to leave. The dark-skinned female stepped out, "So I'll see you all in a little?" with a nod from the others she got out and left them.
Ally sighed softly and shook her head, "I'm really tired."
"We all are." Jordan put a hand on her shoulder and smiled softly to comfort her.
"I think I'm just going to take a nap while we drop everyone off." she yawned.
"Don't sleep for too long or you'll be alone and not be able to figure out how to use your strength." Delilah warned.
"I can take her to Wakanda for some basic fight training." Jacob offered.
"That could work." Jake agreed.
"Then it's settled, Ally will travel to Wakanda for a week with Jacob and train for a little bit." Jordan mused.
As the Quinjet traveled across New York, it became evidently clear that Jacob would have to go and get it fueled before his travel to Wakanda, seeing as they had taken it before fuel was added. However, it would not be an immediate necessity because he soon found out it is not completely dependant on fuel. The group of teens were slightly tired from such an exciting day, but they knew that they had to get better with their powers or newfound strength to be able to protect the people of the world.
The jet soon received a call from Fort Hamilton saying that they needed Captain America to help out with some new troops. Jordan pursed his lip, "I don't know how to teach military soldiers, what am I going to tell them?"
"Tell them to screw off." Ally grumbled, drifting in and out of sleep.
"I can't do that," he retorted, shaking his head, "Take us to Fort Hamilton." he told the control panel while leaning on the wall of the aircraft. Jordan then glanced at the vibranium shield, picking it up, I've seen this on TV so many times, it doesn't even obey the laws of physics, it's kind of surreal. He thought to himself, soon succumbing to his own mind.
"Earth to Jordan." Jacob waved his hand in front of the male's eyes, snapping him out of his trance.
The brown haired male shook his head, "Ya, what is it?" he questioned.
"We're here." he replied.
The new Captain America blinked a little, "Already?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, I guess I'm heading out." he put the shield on the holder on his back, walking out of the Quinjet and greeting the people who had been waiting for him.
"Captain, thank you for coming." said a man in uniform, going to shake his hand.
Jordan shook his hand and smiled, "Thank you for having me, "
"General Williams." he responded, answering Jordan's unasked question.
Jordan gave a small smile, "Listen, General Williams, there has been a little problem recently."
"Oh? What might that be?"
"I have no idea how to train military soldiers, I might just have to join them because I forgot all my training." he told him sheepishly.
The general blinked a few times, "Well I guess we'll have you train with the others, no harm in retraining Captain America."
"Jordan is fine."
The group looked at each other, like Jordan's method of telling the truth while also not explaining he isn't the Captain America they were used to. Delilah, Jacob, Jake, and Ally said goodbye to Jordan before taking off once more.
Jake looked at the controls, "Take us to the closest-"
"Incoming call from US Armed Forces Air Force." a robotic voice interrupted.
"Answer it." Delilah responded to it.
"Is this the Avengers?"
"Only a few of them." she answered.
"Is Falcon and the War Machine there?" the voice questioned.
Delilah bit her lip and glanced at the others for help. Ally stepped up to the panel, "Yes they are here."
"I request their presences at our base."
"Alright, we will be there soon." Delilah told the person on the other end.
The Quinjet soon landed at the air base, Jake and Delilah stepping out with the suits on. Delilah looked around with the faceplate off.
"Good to see you Colonel." a man greeted Delilah.
"I'm sorry, but I'm no Colonel." she apologized.
"We aren't the same people you know." Jake added.
The man frowned and narrowed his eyes, "That's not a funny thing insinuate, you were here the other week."
Delilah sighed, "Well then, we forgot how to work our stuff." she told them
"You forgot how to fly?" he questioned.
"Yeah, we did." Jake answered.
"We need your help to figure out how to work this stuff." Delilah told him.
"We can try our best." he shook their hands and led them inside.
Ally yawned as the aircraft took off once more, "Finally some peace and quiet." Ally sighed and leaned back in her chair.
Jacob looked at her and rolled his eyes, "Take us to Wakanda."
"Yes, sir." A robotic voice answered as the Quinjet took off once again.
Emily looked around stumbling a little when she and Mason arrived, when she looked around she found that everything was gold and in the center looked like it steps leading up to something that had a slot with a sword in it. At the top of the steps was a very dark skinned man with what looked like dreadlocks, he was wearing golden armor and his pupils were a golden color.
Mason looked around, "Where are we?"
"I believe we're in Asgard." Emily answered looking at the guardian of the Bifrost.
The dark skinned man took a sword out of the slot that had jutted out in the center of the staircase, "You two are not from this world originally." he began to descend the steps, "So why do I sense that you belong here?" he questioned.
"We have always been from here." Emily answered expertly.
"You are trying to deceive me." he looked into her eyes, then looked at Mason.
The blonde rolled his eyes, "No what happened was that we gained the powers of the Avengers and the exception of Loki. We're just high school kids."
The man arched an eyebrow slowly, but nodded, "Who are you two then? Since you are evidently not Asgardian."
"Oh yes, how rude of us." Emily smiled, "I'm Emily Currin, but I suppose in your culture it would be Emily Danielsdottir." she introduced, nudging her friend.
He looked down at her with a face that said he knew what to do, he then turned to the adult, "I'm Mason Hooper. I'm not going to get all formal with cultures though."
The man looked at them with his golden eyes, "I am Heimdall, the Guardian of the Bifröst." he introduced himself.
Emily smiled at him, "Coolio, I'm guessing that we'll be getting an earful from Odin since we aren't the real Loki and Thor."
"You might." he answered, "Follow me, I must tell Odin of what has happened."
Mason and Emily looked at each other for a brief moment, before following behind Heimdall. It was a long walk across the Bifrost, but the two made small conversation during the walk. Emily talking about how nervous she was to meet Odin. Mason really couldn't care less, but he humored her a little, but only a little. Soon the three arrived at the palace of Asgard, they went into the throne room where Odin sat.
"My King, I wish to tell you something that I have discovered." The dark male nodded to Odin.
Emily bit her lip as she watched, hoping Odin wouldn't end up yelling.
"What is it Heimdall?" Odin asked standing up from his throne.
"Prince Thor and Prince Loki are no longer alive, these mortals have-"
"Mortals?!" Odin snapped before Heimdall could finish, rage filled his eyes and face, "Heimdall, you know there are strict rules about having mortals in our realm!" he raised his voice.
"Yes I am aware of the rules, however-"
"I want them out of Asgard this instant!"
"Majesty, please if you let us explain!" Emily tried to tell him.
"Silence! You will be sent back to Midgard immediately!" he came over and stood in front of them.
"If I may Majesty," Heimdall began with a raised voice, "The original Prince Loki and Prince Thor are no more because these two Mortals have been given their powers."
Odin paused for a moment and looked at the two mortals, "What do you mean by that Heimdall? Explain."
"I am not the one who can explain it, for it is beyond my knowledge, I only saw it happen." Heimdall explained.
Odin looked at the two teenagers and gave them a hard look, "Why are my sons dead?"
"Majesty, we were only getting a tour of the Avengers tower, when my friend Mason over here picked up Thor's hammer-"
"You picked up my son's hammer?" Odin interrupted.
"Oh yeah, do you want it back?" Mason asked holding it up to Odin.
The grey-haired man's eyes widened considerable large as he looked at him.
"Anyway, as I was saying, he picked up Thor's hammer and basically made the entire building have a power outage, and next thing we know we have powers, personally I think it might have something to do with our universe changing, but that is just a hunch, which would mean we are your new kids." Emily explained.
Odin held in something that he would not allow out, "If this is true, then while you two are here you will go by the names of Thor and Loki, I will not allow you two to have mortal names while on Asgard. Is that understood?"
"Of course Majesty." Emily nodded.
"We also need to be taught on how we can use our powers, can you help us with that?" Mason asked.
"Yes we can, my wife Frigga(for now until we have learned our powers Frigga will be alive) can teach Loki how to use his or her sorcery, Thor will come with me." he answered. The two nodded in understanding, "Heimdall you may go."
The Guardian bowed and then left the three to be alone.
Frigga took the new Loki, Emily, to a quiet library for her to practice and study her new powers. She was calm, and seem to be a little hung up on her adopted son no longer being there with them. The light in the library was soft and soothing to the eyes once the two had come in. Emily looked around in awe, "I've never seen so many books in my life.."
Frigga nodded, "Yes there are quite a lot of them." she looked at the female, "If you have Loki's powers then you will have to spend a great deal of time in this area."
"Majesty-"
"Frigga is fine, if you are part of our world now then I am like a second mother to you." she interrupted.
Emily blinked but nodded, looking around at the books, "Anyway, what even were all of Loki's powers? We don't see him much on the news so no one really knows a lot about him."
"Well, my son's specialty was sorcery so he could do many things, including some things normal Asgardians had."
"Alright, so what should we first start with?" she asked the Queen of Asgard.
"We will start with changing your form." the queen answered.
"So how does sorcery work in Asgard?" Emily questioned.
"Well it is mostly in your mind. Sorcery is all mind power, so you will have to read books on how to do it."
"Alright what then once I've figured out how to do something?"
"You will come find me and I will evaluate how you do."
"Ha!" the female burst to which Frigga gave a look at. Once the female cleared her throat she gave a nervous smile, "Sorry, I just found that very funny."
"Yes of course. I will leave you to your studies, good luck." Frigga then left the large room.
" You will learn how to fight like a warrior." Odin told Mason.
"What do I have to do?" the blonde questioned.
"You must learn how to fight in combat. Once you have learned how to fight like an honorable Asgardian warrior you will learn how to use Mjolnir." the older male explained.
Mason nodded slowly, "Alright who is going to train me?"
"You will be trained by Hogun the Grim from the Warriors Three, he will train you in hand-to-hand combat." Odin explained.
"When do I get to practice how to use my powers as the god of Thunder?"
"Once you have learned everything that can be taught to you." the male responded sternly.
"Alright." the new son of Odin sighed, 'Why couldn't I be Deadpool or something..' he thought to himself.
