Chapter Five
Mason stumbled back rubbing his jaw after Hogun had punched him. So far he wasn't doing well, at least today he wasn't. However, he was learning fairly quickly, which was good on his part. The new son of Odin stared at Hogun and began circling him, he then lunged forward with a punch to the mighty warrior, who evidently dodged his attack with ease. Mason then kicked under Hogun and threw a punch at his face. Hogun landed on his back with a small grunt, he looked at Mason and stood up, "Your performance was worse today, yesterday you did better."
"I'm aware of that." Mason shot a look at him feeling a little weirded out that he wasn't out of breath to a big degree. The male was breathing heavily but not by much.
"The sun is setting, we are done for today, you may leave." the warrior told Odinson.
Mason nodded and walked off, thinking about something, he began to rub his hands together quickly pulling them apart to see sparks connected between them. He smirked and looked up at the palace, "This just got a lot more fun."
Emily hummed softly as she made her first item appear from nothing, Frigga had tasked her with doing this with a knife, once Emily had watched Frigga do it many times and had her explain it many times she had finally got it, "I can hide so many things by doing this." she smirked.
Frigga narrowed her eyes, "Do not steal anything from this realm."
"Hey, before I gained Loki's powers I was a person of the law, I follow the rules or try to; to the best of my abilities anyway." she told the Queen.
"I see, if you are a person who follows the rules do not let the power corrupt you." she warned.
"I'm already corrupt." Emily joked, with a small smile, but did not receive any laughter from the Queen, "Alright, alright jeez..I'm going to read some more stuff." Emily sat down at the table she was previously sitting at with her studies laid out all around the table. Emily was not aware of Mason having snuck in beginning to rub his hands together to form the sparks between them, he then placed his hands on Emily's shoulders to give her a shock. She practically screamed as she turned around and stabbed him using the new trick she learned, "Why would you do that!?" she yelled at him.
Just had cried out in pain from the stab and looked at her, "It was funny! You didn't have to stab me!"
"I panicked!" she raised her voice taking the knife out.
"Don't take it out!" he yelled. She groaned and put it back in. "Don't put it back in!" the female glared at him and ripped it back out. "Stop stabbing me in the same place!" his voice had raised and even cracked a little.
"Well make up your mind! You either want the knife in or you want the knife out!"
"Keep it out!" he yelled at her, neither of them noticing that the wound was already healing.
After what seemed like forever of fighting the two had finally realized that the wound had healed completely. Mason and Emily looked at each other, blinking in confusion then back to the nonexistent wound. Emily began to smirk as she began to get an idea, "Being in Asgard just got a lot more fun."
"Stop thinking whatever your thinking."
"Not gonna happen, Thor~" she taunted him and looked at the knife, "I can stab you, and you'll just heal within seconds, I suppose it depends on the wound." she smirked, "This is gonna be fun."
"I can no longer trust a thing you say."
"You never did." Emily remarked.

As the days went by, Mason and Emily had gotten use being to be called a different name than their own, at least Emily did. The female seemed to have quickly adjusted to Asgardian traditions, unlike her accomplice. She had also learned how to manage her powers fairly well along with learning how to use the scepter with the mind stone in it. At least she did this on the side when nobody was watching her. Mason, on the other hand, seemed to have made friends with the Warriors Three along with Lady Sif in his training. As he trained, he had learned from Odin that he would one day have to take over Asgard, which was something he was not interested in. He had begun to understand the meaning of being an Asgardian god, or at least the God of Thunder. Mason had learned to use his hammer which seemed to have been a lot easier than he thought it was, but he also learned the importance of it so he kept it in safe places when he didn't feel like carrying it around.
"You have done well with your training, Thor." Hogun told the male.
"It was pretty easy since I took self-defense back at home." He shrugged.
"You're friend on the other hand..has caused too much trouble already." Sif stated lowly.
"She does that." Mason had shrugged once again.
"I would have not guessed that someone would adapt to being Loki so easily." Volstagg put in.
"As I said, it's what she does." Mason just shrugged.
"Hey, guys." Emily walked up to them smirking, "Mason we have to get back home, "Heimdall is expecting us, and Odin wants to speak with you."
"Alright. I'll you guys later." Mason sighed and followed the new God of Mischief.

Steve furrowed his caterpillar-like eyebrows as he watched everyone around him, he heard that what happens here is basically bending light, but while he was learning he found it a little more difficult since he knew absolutely no one. His anxiety kicked up from time to time and he tended to like to train privately. "This is ridiculous..." he sighed softly to himself
"You must learn these things so you can protect the New York Sanctum." Wong said walking over.
"Listen, I am not going to protect anything, ok? I just need to get to school after whatever this is" Steve answered slightly annoyed.
"You have already been training for two days, and have learned well, not only that but you are already the protector of the New York Sanctum."
Steve sighed harshly and put a hand to his head, "Look, I still have a ton to do once these two weeks pass and I still have school to go to, my friends will be ticked if I don't come back after the week is over. After stuff that happened before with me, yada yada metal stuff."
Wong furrowed his brows as he listened but soon nodded, "Fine you can go back to your school, however, you will come back once you are done with school."
"How about" he pauses just for a second "no." he retorted as he then began to walk away from the bald man. How could that guy not see that he had no interest in protecting something that he didn't care about? "I mean why do I, ME, out of all people have to protect New York? Why can't you just get an adult to do it, there's many already here, am I wrong?"
"There are many people here that could protect the sanctum, but you alone can protect it." the bald man explained.
"I really don't think it's necessary." the brown-haired high schooler said bluntly. Wong gave a sigh and shook his head, finally leaving to let the fifteen-year-old brat be alone. Steve watched him go and shook his head, "I'm out of here." he put the sling ring on and opened a portal back to the lab.
When Steve got back to the lab he found the others there waiting for him, "Am I seriously the last person here?"
"No, Jordan and Grace have yet to come back. Delilah and Jake just got back from their area, as for Ally, well she seemed to have disappeared after coming back from Wakanda." James explained thoroughly.
Steve only arched an eyebrow but nodded slowly, "Alright."
Emily came over to friend, "Hey, hey hey hey!" she seemed very giddy.
"What do you want?" Steve asked.
"I learned how to conjure weapons from absolutely nothing!" she grinned.
"They don't come out of absolutely nothing they come from somewhere." Alissa stated, walking up to them.
"Okay well it comes out of a small little pocket universe then." the blonde huffed.
Jacob shook his head, "Guys I don't want to be Black Panther, it's too diplomatic, and not me."
"Well some of us don't really have a choice on what we get or not." a voice said.
The group of students looked over and blinked.
"Grace!" Alissa, Delilah, Cristine, and Emily yelled in unison going over to the female.
"This past week sucked. A lot." she sighed pushing away the hugs that came her way.
"That goes for a lot of us." a male voice chuckled causing the group to see Jordan in the tight Captain America outfit with his dinner plate of a shield, " Military training is harder than our military makes it seem."
"Hah, we didn't have to deal with US military." Emily teased sticking her tongue out.
"No, we had to deal with Assgard military, which is worse."
"AS-gard, Mason, Asgard." Emily corrected.
"I really don't care." he snapped.
The others sighed and shook their heads. Seeing everyone together they decided to come up with a plan.
"We need a place to meet up that isn't New York." Ruby reasoned.
"Oh I know a place, you all just have to promise me that you won't come and bug me when you all go and meet there." Emily began.
"No one is going to make that promise." Charles put bluntly.
"Alright then don't go destroying my place." she glared.
"Just give us the area already." Roger snapped, "My god."
"Right, anyway there is this lot in front of my apartments and nothing has been built there yet, we can have a building there, its convenient because it's only a mile and a half from school so we can all walk there, or take bikes there if you have any." she then told them.
"Oh, I know where you're talking about." Alissa exclaimed.
"Yeah, that place."
"Who would even pay for that?" Lewis asked as the majority of the kids pointed to James almost immediately.
"Um, what?" James questioned having not planned in sharing his unhuman riches with anyone.
"You took Tony Stark's place, meaning that you have to pay for everything we do." Jordan told him.
James groaned, "I really don't want to."
"You have to get used to it." Emily said a little hotly.
"Fine." he sighed violently taking a pretzel to his mouth and eating it, while everyone looked at him in confusion.
"Where did you-" Ruby started.
"Don't question it." everyone else interrupted.
"Oh...alright, I guess?" the poor female was very confused. The others just shook their heads as they showed each other what they could all do with the practice they had during the given week for practice. However, Charles did not want to show off his new powers because he did not like them, which only ticked him off more.

"Guys, we have to make sure we have a plan." Jordan said slowly.
"Plans are for suckers." Devin whispered a little loudly.
"You guys do what you want, I'm just going to watch, I don't even know what I'm doing here." Emily said leaning on the wall.
"Oh no, you're helping." Mason snapped grabbing her coat.
Emily groaned, "I'm good."
Alissa shook her head, "At least help get Ally back."
The female tensed and groaned, "Fine, whatever."
Roger just shook his head, "Wow."
The group of kids began to create a plan; Jordan, Mason, Jake, Delilah, Charles, and Lewis would be on the front lines to do the main fighting. The other group would take care of the next line of fighting, this group was made up of Grace, Alissa, Jacob, Roger, and Phillip. The last group was to rescue the kids who were taken by Hydra, this was made up of Cristine, Devin, James, Steve, and Ruby. Emily however, took it upon herself to just find Ally not really caring about the others or for what they were doing.
The first ban of newborn heroes started at the front of the Hydra base. Charles backed off, "I'm good I don't want a part of this."
"You have to help," Mason told him, "some of us don't want to be here either." he then explained.
"You guys are taking way too long." Jordan said throwing the shield at Charles which did the needed effect to tick off the thick man.
As this happened the others went to the Hydra members began to come after the first group of kids Charles began to turn into a giant green rage monster which, in turn, made the enemy back up a little bit.
"Do us a favor and try not to hurt the students, the others are all yours." Jordan then told him catching his shield and putting it back on his arm.
"Aw heck yis." Jake gave a small nod before looking at the enemy with the wings of the falcon coming out of their pack thing.
"I really just want to go home." Mason sighed swinging his hammer in a circle, catching more speed than he wanted.
Delilah looked around in her suit, "Are you guys sure we have to attack them?"
"Only the ones who are original Hydra members we beat up, just knock out the ones from our school so we can take them back to the hotel and pretend that none of this happened at all." Captain America told her, mainly directing it to everyone else as well.
Charles just growled and glared at him, even though he was a giant green rage monster he still had to control it so he didn't hurt the innocent.
The first team advanced and began to fight the enemy while the other group went inside to go do their jobs. Grace, Alissa, Jacob, Roger, and Phillip ran inside first, immediately getting bombarded with more enemies, most of which were students so they were not allowed to fight them too much.
"Well... Shit..." a voice said as the group ran towards the kids, "We'll be right." it then said again as a male ran past the Avengers with the We'll be right back music playing.
"Carlos?" James questioned shooting at his back with his blaster, sending him into the wall and out the other end in front of the Hulk.
Hulk picked him up and looked at him.
Carlos blinked then gave a small smug smile, "Phip phip."
Hulk blinked and snickered a little, slowly beginning to go back to his original size.
Jordan blinked and groaned loudly, "Are you kidding me, we need him."
"That sucks." Carlos replied in a matter of fact tone.
"Delilah put him the van with the rest of the students." Jordan rubbed his face.
Delilah nodded and threw Carlos into the van where he couldn't bug them as he began to yell, "I don't want to go back to normal I'm finally with people who share my ideology! I'm finally a Nazi!"
As this was going on, the last group had gotten to the students in cells. James used his blaster to break the lock while Steve used his sling ring to get them out and back to the hotel. Devin and Ruby shrank down and unlocked the locks from within. Emily went off from the group to find Ally not caring what the others did.
Back outside at the front of the base, the first group of kids were still fighting the main guy who had spoken to them holding back a smirk, "You can't beat me. I am too powerful!"
"Please tell me he's not going to start monologuing." Mason groaned.
"Monologuing is a way for us to find out their plans, it's helpful." Lewis countered.
"Guys, we need to focus on the task at hand." Jordan suddenly interrupted.
The adult male crossed his arms, "You're still acting just like children."
"That's because we are.." Delilah frowned.
"Let's just get this over with." Mason yawned and threw his hammer at the adult male, who in turn, was sent back into the wall making a large dent in the brick. Charles walked over to him and picked him up having gone back to being the Hulk after Lewis had accidentally zapped him. Lewis zapped people with the mind stone or phased through other people's bodies as he fought, using this ability to get kids in the trucks with the others. Soon after some fighting and throwing students in trucks the first group had beaten the first threat. The second group mostly fought students from school so all they had to do was knock them out. Jacob just stood still because the kids would just get pushed back by the energy that the suit had generated. Grace used sheer power and outsmarting her enemy to beat them while Alissa used her ability to climb up walls and use spiderwebs to string up the students. Roger used his arrows that would give the others a slight shock and also using actual fighting skills to beat up his foes while Phillip ran around forcing students into a small group so that Alissa can string them up and before they knew it everyone had been taken care of and the small branch of heroes could take a rest. The last group had just finished freeing the prisoners as Steve made a portal to the hotel the frightened students hurriedly went through some who were fine staring at the male before going through the portal. Devin and Ruby returned to their normal size. Emily came back with Ally looking very ticked off, but after seeing her friends she seemed to calm down a little. Once the Avengers had everyone taken care of they finally went back to the hotel.
