I was late for lessons, and the teacher was more than annoyed. But she let me off, to my relief, and I just rushed to my seat. I was sitting next to a girl called Belle, she was a nice person and all, but I wasn't really close to her.

Basically, since the start of the year, I have been hanging out with just Bill. Otherwise it's just Dipper and Pacifica.

Bill. What a pity he isn't here with me. Oh and Pacifica, I haven't been talking to her for quite a while. I have to speak to her later. Oh, and ask her about her and Dipper too.

The teacher was talking about polynomials while scribbling furiously on the board. I placed my belongings down, while I looked out of the window.

Looks like I'm going to not be able to understand polynomials easily now.

Recently, I have found myself frequently zoning out in class. And talking a lot to myself.  But luckily, there are good people in this world who help you in your work. Although it's a pity I do not really have other close friends, the world is a happy place.

Guess I only have Bill. Luckily, I have Bill.

"Hey. Hey Mabel." Belle shook me from my daze.

"Huh?" I blinked a few times.

"Ms Hong just gave us a worksheet to do."

I laughed sheepishly. "Oh thanks sorry I zoned out."

She looked worried as I looked at the worksheet.

"Do you understand?" She asked with concern.

"Well, uh, not really?" It came out as a question.

She laughed.

"Come here, I shall explain to you. Stop zoning out next time, okay?" She teased me lightly.

"I'm so sorry, thank you so much!!" I said with immense gratitude. She gave me a warm smile, and prairie rly explained the basics to me. After a while, I was able to get the hang of it.

"There you go!" Belle smiled and I thanked her again profusely.

She smiled again and I realised that I actually did not know her well at all. I decided to give it a try.

Before I could say anything, she asked first.

"Anyway I have been wondering for quite a while, but why are all your books wet?"

"By accident." I lied as she nodded.

The bell rang.

"Oh, time to go." She said, while packing her bag.

It's now or never.

"Hey Belle, uh," I stopped for a moment, "since we also have the next class together, why don't we go together? We can get to know each other better too!"

Phew.

"Oh sure, I bet my boyfriend wouldn't mind, let's go!" She said cheerfully.

Phew again.

It's still not too late to make a new friend, is it?
