Chapter 20

"You can't stay mad at me forever Cherry," Jungkook chuckled, hooking his hand around mine before I could react. "You're soft for me~"
I groaned as his fingers intertwined with mine, making it impossible to break away from his grip. He held on tightly to my hand, he knew I was going to try and run away after he made his argument. There was no other choice for me but to continue walking through the halls right beside him. In all honesty, I felt like a deer in headlights with the number of people staring and talking about us. They weren't even trying to be subtle; I could hear their voices spout rumours about why we were walking so close to each other with our hands linked together. You know it was the usual things like "Why is he dating her?" or "I'm so much prettier than her, I should be dating Jungkook." You know, like those snobby dish girls who thankfully lose their man to a much nicer girl. Was it like a high school drama? Yes, yes it was.

I knew most of the students were harsh and disrespectful, I thought that of Jungkook first but he proved me wrong. Besides my friends and the teachers, I hated about almost everyone in the school. Most of them were jerks, spoiled brats, or divas, but it was all the same to me. My friends are the only people I am concerned about in this place, so I try not to let the others bother me. There was one time where a group of girls tried to pick a fight with me, but I "told" them to back off. (I actually slightly beat them up, but that's a story for a different day.) I warned them that if anyone else had the notion to mess with me, they shouldn't; either I would beat them up, but it was more than likely that Jungkook and Yoongi will let all hell loose.

Jungkook didn't appear to be bothered by the comments flying around about us. He only looked at me, having no sights on anyone else. The boy was right though, I am soft for him, really soft. Just like when grumpy grandpa Yoongi is soft for me (he calls me Biscuit). We weren't dating yet, as we were still growing closer and getting to know each other better. Well, I mean we were connecting more often than not; he has literally been living in my house ever since the sleepover. I found it odd that Minhyuk and Jaehee asked him if he wanted to live in our house and keep me company while they were away at work. I found it even odder as to how Jungkook accepted it within a heartbeat. When we're home alone, and I'm sitting on the couch with Mulan, he would hop towards me, plop down onto the cushions by my side, pick me up and sit me down on his lap. And of course, he wouldn't let me go unless I had to go to the bathroom or to let Mulan out into the backyard. Sometimes he would sneak in a few hickies along the nape of my neck, my upper back and shoulders, and I would elbow him to stop. Of course, he would stop but not until almost my entire back was covered in love bites.

At home, I've resorted to wearing hoodies and sweaters just to stop Jungkook from marking my back and to cover up what he's done, otherwise, the others would tease me and kill him. The first time Jungkook gave me a hickey, Yoongi got really pissed off and almost left the lunch table to rip his head off. I would hate to imagine if Yoongi found out about all the red marks on my back, he would be an angry grandpa.

I gave Jungkook a poker face, puffing out my cheeks as he looked down at me. He leaned down, and gave me a quick peck on the forehead, promptly silencing everyone in the hallway. I sighed and shook my head, staring down at my ankle boots. Jungkook loves both skinship and PDA, I can't really stop him.

We thought everything was going well, until Hobie came running up to us, with Jin following closely behind him. I looked at them with bewildered expressions, watching them hunch over and breath like they just ran a marathon.
"Hyungs? What's up?" Jungkook asked.
"Bad news," Hobie huffed. "VERY bad news!"
Jungkook and I were probably thinking the same thing; whatever they were going to say, it was not going to be good for either of us. My hand had tensed up in Jungkook's, and he had done the same, but he wasn't hurting me.
"Jungkook, don't freak out and certainly don't run off with Chau," Jin warned. "But-"

Before Jin could deliver the bad news, he was interrupted by a very loud screech. It was almost as if a celebrity was in the building, and people were fangirling their heads off. The sound of that voice was making my ears bleed, and out of reflex I covered them with my hands (as well as Jungkook's hand).
"No..." Jungkook gasped.
The gut-wrenching tone of Jungkook's voice made me gulp, and try to hide behind him as I heard the clicking of heels approaching us like a stampede of heavy bulls. My breath was caught in my throat as I saw one of the tallest girls I have ever seen in my life (but it's only because of the wedges she was wearing). I felt utterly sick to see a face caked in makeup, revealing clothes and a mess of tangled black hair approaching us like a bullet train.

Just like Jin had warned Jungkook not to do, he did do. He let go of my hand, turned around to face me. For the first time in a few weeks, Jungkook bent down, wrapped his arms around my legs and hoisted me up onto his shoulder before running away. Both Hoseok and Jin groaned, grabbing my bag that flew off of my back.
"Jung-" I tried to yell, but my face hit his back. "Kook!"
"Sorry Cherry!" he apologized, securing his arms around my thighs and waist. "But we're skipping today!"
"What?!" I gaped, looking up at the two boys following us. "Jungkook, Minhyuk and Jaehee will scold me! And you!"
"You're not skipping anything!" Jin corrected me. "We're just going to hide until class starts!"
I groaned, pinching the bridge my nose. Right now, I really don't have a say in the matter, Jungkook is literally carrying me through his plan. But the least he could do is carry me bridal style instead of manhandling me like a sack of rice!
"Can't you carry me normally?!" I yelled.
"No time!" Jungkook replied instantly.

With an hour still to go until class starts, we dove into the bushes of the school's gardens. I didn't even know that we had a garden here. The four of us hid behind a hedge a little taller that Hoseok and sat down on the emerald green grass. The three guys were panting heavily, while I was fiddling with the edge of my skirt. Today was a formal uniform day, and we had to wear it if we didn't want to get detention. I was thankful that Jungkook kept my skirt flat against my backside as he hauled me over his shoulder, otherwise, he would have seen the embarrassing kittens on my undergarments (I hated that those were my only clean pair of underwear, I was supposed to do the laundry after school).

I watched as Jungkook loosened his red tie around his throat, and unbuttoning the first couple buttons on his dress shirt. His skin was dripping with sweat, the beads travelling down his glowing skin. The boy's brown hair clumped together against his forehead, making it look spiked. He was panting heavily, hunched over as he crossed his legs and rested his arms on his knees. However, Jungkook looked slightly angry, his eyebrows furrowed together and nose crinkled up. He looked discontented, causing chills to run up my spine. Jungkook caught my gaze, and I ripped my eyes away from his. Hearing an apologetic sigh from him, he placed his hand on my thigh, squeezing it gently.

"Why is she here?" Jungkook growled.
"We don't know," Hobie sighed. "It's going to be hell..."
"Where are the others?"
"They're hiding too, Jin answered. "Taehyung went to warn the others."
"Who are you talking about?" I spoke up, causing everyone to snap their heads towards me.

From the looks on their faces, it wasn't going to be good.

First day of school was meh, already got bio homework...
