CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE 💛
Note: To be revised after completion.
Yohan running towards us was what surprised both Shin and I at Daewangam Park.
If my assumptions were correct, he was supposed to be at Seoul.
Shin's eyebrows furrowed as Yohan caught up to us, suddenly taking a little break to breathe. He stood right next to us, sweat dripping down his forehead. I scooted over to give him some space to sit down as he took his water bottle from the bag and drank. He then proceeds to wipe the sweat off with his towel. I could tell he was a bit tired already.
Though, I couldn't really tell if it was a coincidence that he was here or not. I pushed the thoughts away and softly smiled, greeting him. "Oh, hi Yohan. What brings you here to Ulsan?"
"Hey, sorry for the sudden meet. I didn't expect you guys would be here too," Yohan chuckled as he said this before putting his hands on his thigh, looked at me, and grinned. "I was just taking a little bit of break myself actually."
Shin just hummed as I couldn't help but feel more happy that they both got the time to themselves. But my eyebrows furrowed, suddenly asking them, "Oh, but who's running the restaurant?"
"No worries, we've got the others to cover up our duties. It's more like a short break but we'd come back right after," Yohan explained as I nodded. That makes sense. I then closed the lid of my take-out before putting it away.
As my gaze turned back to him, I noticed that he was wearing a sports attire, a black tanktop and some shorts. Running shoes so I figured he was out running. "Jogging, at this time of day?"
"It's a little bit too sunny but the cool breeze and the trees helped a lot," Yohan answered. It was understandable. The park was wide enough to jog on and some were also just walking and taking in the view. The trail almost made me think of New York.
It didn't take long before we decided to walk again. Shin seems to be deep in thought as Yohan shared a couple of stories of him traveling. Of course, I listened in, smiling and nodding as he seem so ecstatic over it.
When we finally thought it was time to come back, I heard Yohan's voice calling out Shin. "Ah right, hyung, can I get a ride?"
"You want me to call you a taxi?" Shin turned to him with crossed arms. Yohan put his hand on his nape and grinned, shaking his head.
"No, I mean, like come along with the both of you."
"You didn't bring your car?"
"I decided to commute."
Shin pondered for a minute as Yohan waited with a curious gaze. We all stood at the side of the park, hearing most tourist chatters and birds chirping.
It almost seem as if Shin wanted to decline but I then decided to tap Shin's shoulder, grabbing his attention. "We're heading the same way anyway so might as well, right?"
"Fine, he can come with us." Shin looked like he already gave up as he raises his hand in surrender. Yohan beamed at this, grabbing Shin and hugging him tight.
"Thanks a lot, hyung!"
Shin's eyes were wide in shock before turning to me. I stifled a laugh as he seems to be pointing at Yohan, telling me to get him off him. When Yohan pulled away, we went back to admiring the view and taking a few photos.
It was almost lunch time when we finally got back at the entrance. Shin got his car keys from his pockets before turning to me.
"Where should I drop you off?" Shin turned his gaze to me as I crossed out some of the spots on my list. There was the museum, the lighthouse, and possibly other restaurants. But since I've already eaten and there was still food left, I decided to go to the third one on the list.
"I was actually thinking of going to the museum..."
Yohan's eyes suddenly held a curious gaze and he grinned. "Oh, I'm not too busy. I can guide you there."
"I thought you want a ride back to the restaurant?" Shin furrowed his eyebrows at him before he opened the car door. I went to the passenger seat as Yohan sat right behind us.
"I only said I needed a ride, hyung. I don't remember saying any particular destination," Yohan explained before Shin turned to look at him in the mirror.
"So you'd still commute?" Yohan nods.
I sighed before nodding as well in agreement. "It's alright, we can probably catch a bus or call a taxi."
"You're too nice to this guy," Shin replied before shaking his head and starting the car. I only gave him a shrug.
It took hours before we finally arrived. Shin parked the car shortly as Yohan and I got out. He then opened the windows to wave us goodbye.
"Thanks for the ride, Shin," I told him as he just smiles brightly at us.
"No problem. Safe travels you two." Yohan saluted as Shin finally drives off. As we looked at the car from afar, Yohan turned to me before putting his gaze at the museum behind us.
"So, you like museums?" I nodded at this as we finally went inside. There, I could see a bunch of artifacts and paintings displayed as we ventured further in the building.
When I finally looked at one particular painting, Yohan standing right beside me, I smiled. "You know, art depicts what others think and feel. It's like human psychology where you try and acknowledge different perspective in one particular topic."
"No need to be philosophical on me now," he commented teasingly as I chuckled. We then walked to another room, this time full of relics.
Facing Yohan, I rubbed my arm and shyly replied, "Sorry about earlier. Force of habit. I ramble when I get too fascinated."
Yohan waves it off. "It's alright, I like art too. And no worries, I get what you mean."
I just hummed at this as we both took in the features of the museum itself. It was unlike the other ones I've visited. This one was more on history. I was supposed to go to the whale museum but I chose this one instead out of curiosity.
And I have no regrets.
It was finally almost 3 pm and Yohan said he still has to go back to the restaurant. Since we're both off to Seoul, we got a taxi and he sat right next to the driver while I got in the backseat. Putting my headphones on, I looked outside the window and smiled.
I wonder what the other days got in store for me. Whatever it may be, the moments would be worthy to write down.
