CHAPTER NINETEEN 💛

Note: To be revised.

------------------------------------

The sun shone on the window as I sat inside the Seaside Bistro, waiting for Yohan to finish cleaning up in the kitchen finally. He had insisted on going to Jeju, and I couldn't resist the offer. A new place would mean a new blog to share.

Plus, it would be another experience for me. It's been a few weeks since I arrived but I couldn't really say that I've seen all that there is to the place. There were a lot of tourist spots I hadn't been to and Jeju was probably one of them.

I decided to pass the time by looking at my messages. My parents had insisted on updating them and sending them pictures of the places I've gone and so I did, giving them some of the scenic shots I had. A few of those photos were taken in the sea. Another was photos of me next to a waterfall. They were beautiful. Nature made everything look like it was out of a dream or in slow motion. It was breathtaking.

Yohan walked through the door and wiped his hands on a towel before stopping to glance back at me. "Hope you didn't wait that long. I had to sort them out."

"No worries. I was just checking some stuff on the internet." I answered, putting back the phone in my bag as he finally takes off the apron and puts it away. "Finished with the boxes?"

He nods. "Rearranged and put some of the items in the pantry. Even checked some of the dates and labels from the stock."

"Sounds like you're done, then," I couldn't help but say as another nod came before he walks up to me with his phone. My eyes shifted to the map that was shown and raised an eyebrow.

Yohan noticed this and waved his hand before setting the phone down on the table. In the app, it was on a place called "Seopjikoji." I had heard it before. I remembered Yohan mentioning it yesterday to us.

He saw invested I was in the place so he insisted to give me a little bit of its history. Apparently, the place had a folklore behind it. An old rock was located within the location. As the ancient story goes, there was once a prince of the dragon king who waited eternally for the fairy to descend on Earth. Even though it had such an outstanding lore, it wasn't as much known by people.

Jotting down the details, I asked him. "Any other things I should take note of once we're there?"

Yohan puts a finger under his chin in a thinking pose. "Stay close? And also try not to stray away from the path. The rocks and edges there are dangerous. Not to mention, it would be a bit windy. We wouldn't want to get any scrapes or anything."

I nodded at this. Yohan then looks like he's ready to ask if I needed something but decides against it as I stand up from the table, grabbing my bag before walking past him to walk towards the doors. "Let's go. The weather is nice today. Hopefully, the place wouldn't be too crowded today."

I can feel the heat coming from inside the restaurant, but the breeze outside is nice. It feels nice. We both walk over to the car without saying much else as we get into it, heading down the road to our destination.

The road to Seopjikoji was far. We had to take the ferry and take the car with us. It would be a long trip after all. I sat quietly next to him as he drove the car. My eyes were focused out the window, taking in the scenery before me. It seems like it was already spring, the flowers in the fields softly swaying in the wind.

We arrive at Jeju after a few hours, which makes it a bit surprising to see so many people. Most of them were families with little children running around. Some of them were tourists, with huge backpacks and luggage. Yohan took a full stop at a restaurant nearby. Though, the design seemed familiar. He smiled as I stared at the signage as he parked the car.

"Familiar?" he asked, interrupting my thoughts. A smile formed on my lips as I finally knew who ran the place. He noticed this and chuckled before we both decided to get out of the car. A familiar chef was inside, taking orders and putting the meals on the customer's tables.

The bell rang as we entered. The chef only took a second to look at us before retreating back to the counter. "Didn't expect you both to come here."

"Oh come on, hyung. If you couldn't go, then it was better we visit you ourselves, right?" Yohan snickered as Daewon finally rolled his eyes. "Besides, I wanted to show that you're stationed here for today."

It didn't seem like Daewon minded as he pulled out the notepad and mentioned us to sit at one of the tables. Yohan decided we go to the one next to the large windows so I followed him as we sat. Daewon followed right after, taking our orders. I made sure to order the same, Chamchi Gimbap. Yohan went for another dish, Chuncheon dakgalbi, and a Bingsu.

Spring Falls didn't change as much. The decorations were the same. If I would have to observe further, I would say that the location was the only thing that changed. I took a second glance at the counter, seeing a panda plushie with a blue bow on it. I hummed. It was like Yohan's but with a different animal.

Finally, Daewon came with our orders a few minutes later, and we decided to finally eat. We didn't take long though, knowing fully well the trip to Seopjikoji would be for another hour or so. After we finally finished, we bid farewell to the chef.

Daewon only waved while seemingly throwing a worried gaze as he saw us running to the car and as I almost slipped before even reaching the vehicle. Luckily, I didn't and got in the car with no problem.

It did take us an hour before reaching the location. The place looks ethereal. There was a beautiful meadow on the cliff on the coast. The beautiful blue sea illuminated the bright sun. A lighthouse was seen in the distance. Oilseed crops scattered around the fields, filling them with yellow flowers on the way to the other attractions.

"It's beautiful," I couldn't help but comment as Yohan smiled before stopping the car at the parking lot. Though, I did notice that the weather was rather hot and windy — no shades would save me from this but an umbrella. But the thing is, I forgot to bring one.

Yohan seemed to have seen the look on my face as he laughs. "No worries, it's not that hot."

As soon as we both stepped out, he smiled and turned around to look at the scenery. I took my camera and got a photo of the mountains and the field. I then heard Yohan next to me, taking a peek at what I got. "Nice view, right?"

"It's nice," I commented before we started to walk to the path. There were brown wooden rails as you trek and the lighthouse was seen near the edge. Noticing how Yohan walked in front of me, I decided to walk right behind him. Since he was a bit taller than me, he became a bit of shade from the scorching sun.

"Dara?" he then stopped before being surprised as I bumped into him. "Oh, I didn't know you were behind me. I meant to stay close but not too close."

He chuckled as I groaned. "I was kinda hoping to use you to cover up the sun a bit."

"Well, you should've brought an umbrella."

"The weather app said cloudy."

Yohan stops for a minute before he shakes his head and sighs. "I didn't bring an umbrella either. I'm accustomed to the weather."

I couldn't help but just stare at the sun and nod, putting back my camera in my bag. Taking out a water bottle I had, I drank before walking again — Yohan behind me. "Looks like I'll have to adjust to this as well."

After a while, Yohan shared so much history about the place until we reached the lighthouse. Climbing the stairs, I stared at the blue sea and the sunset, cherishing it as I felt content. Yohan had also been taking photos of the place before I assumed he had sent them to the others. I did the same, though for my parents. They would love this spot.

"Beautiful sunset," Yohan said right next to me.

I hummed. "Thanks for suggesting the place."

"Figured we all needed a break at some point," Yohan told me before asking, "After this, what do you intend to do?"

Glancing back at him, I shrugged. "Maybe figure out new hobbies. Write the blog then travel and do something worthwhile."

He nods. "Then, if you need some ideas, we might help."

Yohan mentioned the others and I softly smiled. I couldn't help but feel welcome in the circle of their friendship. I was glad.

"Thank you, Yohan."

He waves his hand at this before leaning to the rail and watching the sunset right beside me. I could hear him answer me but his gaze was fixated on the mellow sun setting on the blue sea.

"What are friends for, right?"
