Chapter 5 (Sand)

He tried to get out but he couldn't. He was falling deep into the sand. He couldn't get out. At all. Worse, he was just a cub and he was weak. I can't do this! I'm too weak! He thought.
I can't give up.
He tried harder, but no good. Sand was too weak. He let himself sink into the deep sand.

Sand was still stuck, but he hadn't sunken into the deep sand anymore. He smelled another animal--it was near him. Next to him. He let out a yelp and nipped at the huge animal. The animal pulled back.
"Its okay, little fox!" The animal said.
"What are you?"
"A camel," the animal answered. "And your a fox. A fennec fox, right?"
"Ca-m-el," Sand sounded out. "Okay. Now can you get me out of this deep sand thing?"
The camel laughed. "Its not a deep sand thing. Not thing, at least," he said.
"Just get me out of this whatever!" Sand growled, annoyed.
The camel nodded briefly, then tried helping Sand.
Sand yelped.
"What?" The camel asked.
"TOO ROUGH!!"
The camel seemed surprised from Sand's response, so he pushed gently. A few pushes then Sand was out.
"Thanks," Sand said before hurrying to the shelter of a small tree.
The camel didn't say anything for a second. Then he said quietly, "welcome." He followed Sand to the tree."where is your family?"
"THEY LEFT ME! THEY ABANDONED ME! THEY LIED!!" Sand howled.
"A mother would never do such a thing!" The camel said, but Sand caught a bit of sarcasum and hesitation in his voice.
"They did," Sand replied and whimpered.
"I'm..sorry," the camel said.
Sand didn't answer.
