I grew up with a dog
I was just a little boy
He wanted to play
So we played
Until it was dark
The street lamps was on
It was just me and my dog
But it didn't last
There was someone else with us
Listening
Watching
But I was just a little boy
I didn't know nothing
Until I heard footsteps
Glancing up
I caught sight of him
Now much closer then before
Can feel his hungry eyes on me
My dog didn't make a sound
For he was already long gone
Tears coming now
I backed up
The man took a few steps closer
Heart pounding
He called out to me

"son what yah ass doing out here so late its time to go inside"
