Rats-

Hello my name is Ashley and I love working with animals. I just turned 17 and I work part time in a pet shop. My favorite animal to work with was the rodents especially the rats. The little guys are so smart. However just recently I had witnessed something extremely disturbing.

I walked to the pet shop right after school and as I passed down a corner I felt a cold breeze. It's in the middle of summer so I thought it was a little strange. Then I felt as if I was being watched. I shrugged it off as a normal feeling and went on my way.

As I arrived at my job I put my backpack in its usual place in my boss's office. I greeted my co-worker Letty, who was currently helping a customer pick out a bird. I went to the rodent section to go visit my little furry buddies when I saw the rat cage empty. I went to the rodent section to go visit my little furry buddies when I saw the rat cage empty. I looked around and saw a blood trial and a rat just sitting by it sniffing.

I picked up the lone rat and started following the trial. Eventually I came to the cargo room's door. The door was open a crack but the trial led behind it so I had no choice but to open the door and find out what made the trial.

As I opened the door slowly I caught a glimpse of a rat. Then I saw another, and another and another! Then that's when I saw it. I saw what looked like a man covered in blood. He was crouched beside a dead body. My boss! I covered my mouth to muffle a scream and hot tears ran down my cheeks.

The man turned to me making his banes fall to the side. He grinned with his razor sharp teeth with blood dripping down his lip. His eyes were just like black orbs. After than I ran to the front of the pet shop and dialed the police.

When they got here they found my boss's corpse but no sign of what I saw. My boss's corpse was found with his stomach ripped open and some of his organs missing. The pet shop closed down but the memory of what I saw that day will stay with me until death.
