A Program Knows Where I Live.
Now, this could very well sound mundane or completely non malicious to you, however to me, this entire thing has me double checking and thinking over what I do online, and considering recent events, I'm reluctant to post, because I know this "bot" is going to find this post. It finds everything I do online; every time without fail. I don't know how or why, and that's what I need from you guys. Input, opinions, anything to help make sense of this.
It all started a few days ago, on Sunday, July 8, if I recall the date correctly. As stated, this "bot", called "Gfderjynvff" has managed to find every single social media account I've ever had. My first encounter with this thing was on PUBG Mobile. Stupid, I know.
If you're unfamiliar with the game, it's basically just 100 people in a game, trying to kill each other with guns and cars, etc.
Out of the three gameplay modes, I chose squads as my first ever match within the game, and despite being an avid PUBG player on PC, this game was rather trashy to me, and the reason for that was the obscene amount of bots inhabiting the match.
This isn't news to the public; it's been rumored that PUBG was using bots to fill matches. However, one of my teammates, called "Gfderjynvff", followed me throughout the game. This bot was able to use weapons with precision, and operate vehicles, something I didn't see the other bots doing.
It must be noted that I only assumed "Gfderjynvff" was a bot, because the name is just like the other programmed game fillers: a name of jumbled letters.
As stated, "Gfderjynvff" just followed me; the entire match. If an enemy got close, he'd aim and shoot, however once said enemy was dead? Nothing. He didn't loot, he didn't do anything; just followed me the entire game, which typically lasts about half an hour.
For reassurance, here's a screenshot of "Gfderjynvff"'s PUBG profile:
I had a suspicion almost immediately that this was just some poorly programmed bot. The following was the only thing that got to me. After screenshotting the profile and joining a few more games after that, I just forgot about it. It didn't enter my mind again.
Until that afternoon, when I get a Snapchat notification on my phone.
I open the app and swipe to the "Friends" tab, and the user name puzzles me for a moment.
"Gfderjynvff added you by username".
I read it over a couple times, and the PUBG game earlier that morning came back into my memory. It made no sense. It's a fucking bot, not a real person?
I didn't accept the request, but I didn't decline it either. Further to add proof, here's a screenshot of the Snapchat request.
Now I was a bit creeped out. I couldn't comprehend how what I assumed was a bot, had gotten ahold of my social media. The PUBG Mobile account I had? It had no username correlation to my Snapchat username. It's just so fucking bizarre.
That's not the end however. Less then an hour later, I got a follow request on Instagram. Before I opened my phone or even the app, I had a feeling what the notification was, and I was right.
Another one of my social media accounts tracked down by Gfderjynvff. Here's a screenshot of the Instagram request.
Let me just say, I'm thankful my social media accounts are private, because it didn't take much longer for this "bot" to find my Twitter and YouTube account. Had they been public, this bot could have found pictures of me, my hometown/state, and information about my life.
My YouTube account seems to be getting the worse end of it however, with multiple spam accounts of jumbled letters leaving strange comments, all just mixes of words and phrases; nothing coherent or understandable, except for one phrase in each comment, that I DO recognize.
Always, every comment includes "Gfderjynvff". I get one every few minutes, going on almost a week. I usually remove them to keep my comment section spam free, but here's one from a couple minutes ago:
That's about all I have. At this point in time, I've disabled my YouTube notifications due to the flood of comments coming in, and privated any social media I use, and deleted all others that are dead or unused. I don't know why this bot has attached itself to me, but I've gotten used to living with Gfderjynvff following my online footprints.
Let me say, that I don't believe I'm in danger or that any of this is malicious. Just absolutely bizarre and fucking weird. I could really use some advice or help; anything you guys can add in is of help to me.
