The Red Room

This here my friends, is a Japenese urban legend, known as the red room, funny thing right here is im doing this at 1am by myself, its gr8

It was my day off to stay by myself at home, i could do whatever i want, relax, sit down, enjoy a drink peacefully, looking into the sunset. Most people would do that, or something fun, like going out with friends, or something. But no. That wasn't me, i decided to go on my laptop, looking at books to read online and looking at random things on the internet and things.

After while of randomly searching through things, i found something wierd. Now, let me note, this was a new laptop i had gotten awhile ago with the newest opperating system, so when a pop-up came up on my screen, it was really suprising. Not just because i have pop-ups disabled, but just... The style of it. It had the style of an older opperating system.

I frowned, maybe i have a virus? Or something, which is usually my first thought when i see one on my laptop. The message though on the pop-up was in Japenese, and it read, "Do you like it?" The text seemed to be in black and the backround bright red, to be even more clear, there was nothing else on it.... I was confused.

But i figured it might've been a scam ad or something, like, "Congrats!! Your the 1,000 user!! Claim your prize!!!" Or something, so i just ignored it. So i clicked on the red x in the corner to click it out, then exited out for good measure get some tea before streaming some of my favorite shows. Yum, tea. I was only gone for about, ten minutes? Until going back into my room, and the ad was back.

Now i was more worried about there being a virus, after all the laptop was brand new!! That would be terrible.
I also didnt have anything open on my computer, so it couldnt be just a pop-up. I clicked out of it again, pretty worried, starting to run a computer scan, before it umm, popped up.... Again..... But this time, a voice, followed it. "Do you like it?" It was a high pitched kid voice, a little girls to be infact, the voice also seemed to echo, like in a tunnel, or cave. It wouldn't stop so i went to mute it.

But it was already muted. I felt goosebumps travel up my spine, i clicked out of the pop-up quickly, but it popped up again, it wanted my attention. And the voice seemed louder.... I closed my laptop, "Nope!! Not today." I muttered to myself aloud. I went to go out of my room again, going to try to get my mind off the pop-up. But it wouldn't open.... i started to frantically pull the knob, it wouldn't budge, there also was no lock on the door, so couldn't get how that could happen. There was a pinging noise behind me and i jumped, getting startled. I looked at the laptop screen, getting even more scared the more i turned to it. "Do you like red?" The voice echoed again, the annoying little voice.

At this point, i knew what this was.... How couldn't i have known it earlier? This was a very popular urban legand in Japan, it was The Red Room, i then dashed to the window and threw open thw curtains as fast as i could, i pushed at the frame, wouldn't budge, i looked outside, hoping for someone to be outside, of course it was the middle of the day, who wouldn't be? The sky was a bright blue, a beautiful blue, it was shimmering outside. But, the childs voice grew louder, and louder, still echoing in my head, my room also began to darken, even though it was still shining outside. I couldn't use my phone, it was in the kitchen, and i couldn't break open the window with my hands, so i grabbed my chair and started banging at the window.

It took some time before starting to view some forming cracks in the window, after some time i had put the chair down, forgotten, on the cold floor. I could've broken the rest to escape, but i didnt, a feeling told me not to, i couldnt move, i, i didnt want to... Also, the breathing on the back of my neck.... It didnt let me move... i didnt want to.... "do you like the red room?" "Of course i like the red room." I thought to myself. "Ive always wanted a red room. But wait.... This room isnt red.... That needs to change." I kept thinking about how i could make the room red i searched around, i found a box cutter, "perfect" i thought, "hands are not enough, need to make sure i dont waste a single drop." I don't remember exactly, but im sure i passed out.

"Sumire?" (Quick A/N i don't know how to spell her name) that was my co-worker, he was knocking at the door. I was confused, "what was he doing on my day off?" I groaned, i then opened my eyes and immediately starting to grow dizzy and about to pass out, "what happened in here?" He asked, i coukd barley hear his question before my vision turned black for a slight second. "What are you doing here? Its my day off" i mumbled, i looked up into his eyes, finally figuring out i was in the middle of my room, sitting down. "That was yesterday" i then began to feel stinging pains in my body, as my vision became a little more clear. I pulled my head up to look at my hands, they were covered in blood and cuts, and my legs were in the same state to, i guess i took my clothes off, having my body also covered in cuts and scars. I looked up at my co-worker fearfully, "lets get you to the doctor" he said as he wrapped a warm blanket around me, picking me up.

It was then when i noticed my room, it was covered everywhere in blood, specifically, my blood. I got my co-workers attention, "my laptop! Check my laptop." I said, fear in my voice. He set me down and opened my laptop, there was only one window open. One, single, window. One screen, black text, and a beight red backround, in a bulky old fashioned window. "Do you like the red room?"
