A few nights later, everyone working from 3-9 was moved to 12-6 just for that day. A dinner party at the bosses place for late Memorial Day. Him living in a beach house, which really nice I hear, it was an outdoor BBQ.

He has a daughter who's my age.

Everyone got there, he started making everything, showed us around a bit. We met his wife and his three kids. Amanda, the one my age, Johnny, he's about 13, and then little Andy. He's 2. I had been hired as an intern right before he was born bejng he was gone for about a week with Andy and afterwards decided to keep me there. I only planned on being a temp for that week and then they hired me under a 5 year contract.

We were all relaxing in the sand. Letting the sun soak in. My eyes were shut. It's been forever since I've been able to fully relax and not worry about anything.

When I felt a presence over me I opened my eyes and his oldest daughter was not an inch away from my face. Eyes closed. Going in for a kiss.

Dam right I pushed her off of me. One, I don't even really know her, two, she's my bosses daughter, three, and most importantly, I am in a relationship I am happy with.

She got so mad as her father came out and she lunged at me. I rolled to the side and she crashed into Jamie. Which startled him.

The she grabbed a knife. And not a plastic knife.

A stake knife.

And jumped to me, and thank gods I had Riptide. Because otherwise I'd be a dead man.

"Amanda!" My boss, Jacob, and his wife, Cameryn yell, running over as I once again get her off of me and her parents hold her back as she is trying to murder me.

"You don't know who you're messing with." I told Amanda. "I suggest you don't want to find out, otherwise it will get ugly. And that is a promise.'

Yeah, it kind of pissed me off.

Her mother took her to her room.

" sorry about her.' Jacob told me. "Lately she's been acting weird. But I wouldn't imagine her pulling a knife to anything."

"Whered you learn to do that?" Trinitty asked me. "If anyone came at me with the knife I'm dead. Not a question about it.'

" I have to do something when my dad's at work." I said. "And I'm not. Two hour classes 12-2 Monday through Friday while I'm there. I've been doing them since I turned 12. Around there.'

'Classes.' That's what I do. Totally.

As long as they believe it.

When it started raining, we went inside to eat and just talked about whatever.

The question was asked.

" why did you have to stay with your dad for a full year?"

Well...

"I don't know if you actually want that answer." I told them as Amanda came out of her room. Us not noticing actually caught me off guard with a kiss.

Once again, I pushed her away.

"Are you getting the point?' I asked her. "It's not happening. Ever."

Somebody forgot about their anger management classes.

She wanted to be a part of my life. She wanted to grow old with Me.

I laughed. She wanted me to be able to grow old.

I was supposed to die when I turned 16.

And she wanted a guarantee that I could always be there.

"No you don't." I told her. "My life is fucked up. You can find somebody else to go grow old with and be there with. Because that's not happening."

We sent Amanda to her Grandmother's for the summer in Alaska. She hates Alaska. Punishment. She tried to kill him and then she tried to date him.

I really wouldn't mind Percy as my son. I wouldn't. He's a pretty cool dude. Who actually enjoys his job. With ADHD and Dyslexia school isn't easy. I am well aware or that. I had a sister with dyslexia and school just wasn't her thing. She didn't work until she graduated college because of the stress of school. And he's not even a high school graduate, working practically full time, with school and divorced parents and ADHD along with Dyslexia.

How he manages it all, it'd beyond me. But he will be successful. That's a no brainer.

Speed ahead 3 years.

Long by now everyone knew about Leo and myself. We were still together. I was done with camp. He had just finished. Both of us graduated. I had bought the house we had all stayed in that first summer. I now make $53 an hour. Same hours, down to 5 days a week. Which is about $76K a year. Leo going into college for Blacksmithing, he still works part time. The surgeries were this summer. Currently Christmas Day. We celebrated everything yesterday.

It's been 3 years. To the day. Tonight we were going out for dinner and just have some fun.

I had big plans.

Anyways, I woke up to the alarm. Leo  not hearing it, stayed fast asleep. He looked so adorable when he slept. So peaceful.

I gave Leo a kiss on the cheek as I silently headed downstairs to make some breakfast in bed. I made myself a little bit, eating here and there as I finished his and brought it up. The smell waking him up as I set it down. Which was a surprise.

But anyways, as she ate I got ready for presents. We had some for each other. Just a few, we wanted to open today being there wasn't time yesterday. One of the presents in my sweater pocket. In a little blue box. About a year ago both us got highly addicted to Doctor Who. My YouTube channel, which actually my job now, wanted me to see a little bit of our Christmas and plus so did my parents. So I'd put it up. But I grabbed all the presents I got from him from the basement and up to the living room as he brought his down. I said hi to the channel and all before he came down.

But anyways, when Leo got down he let me open presents first and he got me quite a few things this year.

As I finished and she started to open hers she opened what I got her. And usually we get each other 10 things. It's a deal we have and he only opened nine.

So Leo was confused.

"I have the other one with me." I explained. "But for three years. Three amazing years you have made me happy, Leo, and I can't thank you enough or tell you how much I love you. And with that I ask. Leo Mitchell Valdez."

I got down on one knee, taking out the little blue box as I opened it to a ring inside.

"Will you marry me?"
