I watched as my only happiness in the world died before my eyes, first my father now, Nolla. Why? The Shredder laughed and a mist fell from the vent, everything else is forgotten. I woke up in my bed, with a washcloth on my head, and a stomachache. At first, I thought I'd had a terrible nightmare, till I saw my crutches in the corner, then I saw I still had a wounded ankle, meaning Nolla was.... Fine. She's fine. I told myself this a million times, yet I never believed myself. The doorbell rang, mom answered. Mom!! I tried to run but fell, mom heard and she and Kate then ran upstairs and aided me, I hugged mom, Kate tried to fake a smile, but failed. Nolla was out there, alone. Or worse, in the hands of the shredder. No. I stopped myself, I can't think like that. "Kate, can we go for a walk around the neighborhood?" I asked. "Huh?" Kate said as she snapped to attention. "Oh, um, Maria?" "Sure, just use your crutches." My mom said. "Okay, let's go" I said.
