expect the unexpected

"The Silva brothers are mine."

"I just got back and you're already ignoring me", Saul says as soon as I pass by him the other morning, "It's almost like you're a typical angry teenager." "Maybe I'm just trying to avoid this conversation?", I state the obvious.

"Well, maybe you shouldn't have started going out with someone who's similar to your uncle", Saul replies still relaxed which surprises me. "It's not like he's my real uncle. Stephen and I have never felt that kind of relationship as if we're a family. We've been friends and then we fell for each other."

"That's actually the last sentence that I want to hear coming out of your mouth", Saul sighs letting his shoulders drop down. "Yeah and I didn't expect you to have fallen for my mom while she was dating my dad", I counter.

"That's something completely different, Scar", Saul corrects me strictly, "I got to know your mom in a normal way not by living with her since she was a little girl." "You still want someone who you allegedly cannot have", I argue, "If I was you, I'd just tell her what I feel for her."

"Oh yeah, you'd be so honest?", Saul replies chuckling. If I let myself feel offended, I'd admit that he just made fun of me making a point. Saul sees the offended look on my face and gets back to the topic, "I've told her about my feelings many years ago. She's decided for your dad. He was the one to propose to her-"

"Wait, you've told her about your feelings after dad proposed to her?", I exclaim now being the one who chuckles, "That's a shitty move. Of course she wouldn't just tell dad that she would replace him with you after getting engaged."

"This conversation shouldn't even be about Olivia and I. We're supposed to have a serious talk about your relationships", Saul changes the topic once more making me roll my eyes. I would like to tell him that he's not my dad and cannot decide about my love life but the first part is something I'd never say, not even when I feel offended.

"My relationships in general or what's between your little brother and I?", I emphasize slightly enjoying his reaction, "Who do you like less with me, actually? Riven or Stephen? Because I swear, they're both good in-"

"You know, I'm kind of glad that you're Andreas' child", Saul interrupts me jokingly but sighs, "How about you don't torture me with those informations?" "Sorry, I just thought you'd like to be informed", I shrug grinning as he's giving me the 'why-does-god-torture-me' look.

"For the record, I don't like seeing you with any of these boys. Riven's a good fighter and he can be a good guy but he's also a hothead. Stephen.. I always knew that he cares about you. But no matter how much easier his character is, he's your teacher now and he's too old for you."

"He's just a few years older", I correct Saul, "Plus, Rosalind would let me be with him officially. He's not like you who people look up to. For us, he's just an older friend showing us some tricks."

"That actually hurt my feelings", Stephen of all people says behind me and I look at him shocked when we turn around. "Well done, Scar", Saul chuckles so I hit his arm lightly. "Come on. Let's get you warmed up before training", Stephen tells me but I furl my eyebrows.

"I'm not fighting against you." "I'm one of the specialist's teacher now. If I say you fight against me, you do so", Stephen shrugs, "Who hits the floor first." I sigh. He's not a bad fighter but he wasn't a specialist as good as Saul or dad so I'm afraid I might hurt him.

I get up onto the platform with him and we start to fight. We hit each other a few times and I already know that he's not as bad as I expected him to be. Why does everyone say he's so bad? I'm about to hit his chest with my foot but he reacts quickly taking my foot and throwing me down on the ground. Ouch. That actually hurt.

"You could have been softer", I complain growning. Saul laughs as I jump down from the platform and Stephen grins at me. "You may think it's luck but watch me fight against Sky", Stephen suggests and calls Sky over.

As both of them begin to fight, Saul points at Stephen. "He's a great specialist and an even better fighter. He just never wanted to be a soldier." He's completely fooled us all and now he gets to win against me, Riven and Sky. Dad doesn't like what he sees so he challenges Stephen to a fight. Guess who won. Of course, the one we expected to be such a bad fighter.

"I have to admit, your lover looked good fighting", Beatrix starts a conversation her way as I walk back to the rooms. "What do you want?", I groan remembering the last time that we've been talking to each other.

"I'd chose Riven. He's been talking about you all the time", she replies rolling her eyes, "He's pretty obsessed with you." "It's not like I need your help", I mumble trying to minimize the time that we spend together.

"He's lied for you, you know. He knew it was you who saved Silva but he didn't say a word." "I also know that it's been you who told Rosalind", I snap back. How could she do that to Riven? He's been fucked up already but after Rosalind has played with his head, it's been way worse.

"She's been hurting Andreas", Beatrix says seriously and looks at me angrily, "She's been doing it to him before. You may not understand me or him but he's raised me and I wouldn't just leave him alone when I could help him."

I watch her thinking about our situation for a moment. If I'm trying to understand her, I'd say Andreas is to her what Saul is to me. He's raised her for as long as Saul has raised me. I doubt that they have such a great bond, but if they're just a tiny bit as close as we are, then I understand why she's doing what she does.

"Do you have any siblings?", I ask interestedly. Maybe she's got someone like Sky. She looks at me confused at first but shakes her head, "No, not that I know of. I don't know anything about my family."

"That's why Andreas means so much to you", I conclude nodding, "Listen, I still don't like you after killing someone and letting Rosalind out, but I understand you better. I know what it's like not knowing who your parents are so if you need help finding yours, I'll be there. Until then, you can have my dad. It'll cost you a few dollars a day."

I joke about the last but and Beatrix laughs with me. "You'd have to give me Stephen on top. He's hot", she piles in. "You can have Sky but none of the Silva brothers", I reply shocked but playfully and we laugh. Who would have thought that Beatrix and I would laugh together?
