Fallen Pawns
This just in, pro hero, Edgeshot was found dead in his home.
Reports say there were no signs of forced entry.
Drugs were found at the crime scene.
Cause of death is still to be determined.
"After going through the evidence, we discovered that the drugs in Edgeshot's home were in fact quirk suppressing pills, tracing back to the ones confiscated from the Shie Hassaikai Compound." Detective Ukai answered the interviewers questions with simple and blunt responses, that way even the most dense person could understand.
"Could these be the same drugs that were found in Katsuki Bakugou when he was abducted by the Yakuza?" The reporter asked.
That information was never made public so it threw the rookie cop off guard. Officer Takeda adjusted his glasses and stammered nervously, not wanting to give out too much information without all the details. "Uhhh- well... Yes. These are in fact the same substance. It's still unknown where Edgeshot or the Yakuza acquired these drugs. But the police force will get to the bottom of it." He assured confidently.
"Do you believe Edgeshot may have supplied the Yakuza with these drugs?"
Takeda stiffened his body. These questions were so straight forward and he wasn't sure if he was allowed to answer them without getting approval. Even worse, he truly believed Edgeshot had become an extremist when it came to keeping quirks only at the hands of pros. So why wouldn't he sell these drugs to a faction that wanted to rid certain threats of their powers? "Ummm- no comment!"
Detective Ukai, as well as the reporters, who are followers of ReDestro, were purposely positioned front and center at the scene. They asked the questions that the Shin Sekai Order and The League needed society to know the "answers" to or at least for now question what was happening behind the scenes.
"Is it possible for a drug ring to be going on between hero's and extremist groups to annihilate violent quirks?"
"Whoa! Askin the big questions!" Ukai put his hands up in defense, playing his part as a clean cop. "That's way too early to tell but it's rather unlikely. And as far as we know, these drugs would have to be taken almost everyday for there to be a quirk diminishing affect."
"Have there been any past cases of this drug being accessible on the streets like Trigger?"
"Not as of yet. We're going to be searching day and night to find the source of this drug and where it's located." Ukai held in a laugh. The rookie was really believing it which meant everyone else was too. All the pieces were becoming theirs for the taking.
"If you have any information reach out to your local police department." Ukai added, "No more questions. Thank you."

Endeavor flung the remote at the wall with the force causing the object to explode on contact. This was bad. How could he call himself a hero while protecting his eldest son who more than likely has something to do with this.
No matter what the media claims, there's no way Edgeshot was supplying drugs to the Yakuza. He was a proud supporter of heroes staying true to the title. When Dabi revealed his true identity, Edgeshot was the first hero who reached out to Endeavor and said that he would do everything in his power to make sure the Todoroki's were safe, that was including Touya. All he needed was the go ahead from Endeavor, who at the time believed that was asking too much.
*flashback*
"How did you all get in here?" Edgeshot stood back in a fighting stance. "I have a very high grade security system and my location is off records."
Sam had done some digging and managed to break into the heroes database which had every detail about them that wasn't allowed to be made public. It had everything from addresses, known family locations, bank account information, secret hideouts, even something so small as a simple allergy was jotted down.
"Just don't struggle and it'll all be over soon."
Edgeshot activated his quirk to turn 2D and use it to knock out the mysterious pale girl that leaned in his doorway, like how he did to the villains back in Kamino. He was pushed backwards out of his nearly invisible form by another unseen force.
Tyra stood to the side, showing that she has a quirk so similar to where she can turn anything, as well as herself as thin as paper. "You're not so special, fake hero."
"League of Villains. You're not anybody I'm familiar with though."
Tyra did a dry chuckle, "Not L.O.V anymore. We're under new management. And some of us are trying our best not to be known," she shrugged, "While others-"
"Gah!" Edgeshot jerked around to pull at the tube that attached itself to his neck.
"Are trying to get society to look at us differently!" Toga flipped around in the air and caught herself with a one handed cartwheel to stick her landing. "I think I got enough to get the job done." She giggled, slurping Edgeshot's blood from the tube.
"Who sent you!" Edgeshot sprung his serpent like body at Toga who was pushed back by Tyra.
"Does it matter? You're gonna be dead in a few minutes!" Tyra shouted. The two spared long enough for Toga to be able to transform and start pulling out pill vials from a black duffle bag.
Edgeshot took notice of his copy who was putting all of his fingerprints on the small bottles. "What is that?" he yelled before getting knocked to the floor.
"Pause!" The girl who stayed quiet finally spoke. Edgeshot's body was struck still. He couldn't speak. Couldn't blink. He was paused in time but his consciousness remained alive.
Kami Aiko. Her quirk: Remote Control. When her sight is locked onto a target she can pause time around people, objects and places, but can't stop time itself. In order for her quirk to remain activated, she needs to stay at least 5 miles within the effected area. Anything that enters the paused area will also stop as well. Kami is the only one that can freely move around in a paused scene.
"Stay still. As if you have a choice." Kami held her hand out as if there was an invisible remote in her grasp. "Would you guys hurry it up. The last thing I need on my record is breaking into a top heroes house."
"Don't worry. I'll make it as quick as suffocating can be." Tyra put on her oxygen mask, as did everyone else. "Which should be around 2 minutes since training my quirk." Tyra grunted as she slapped her hands together to make the air around the room as thin as she possibly could. You could still partially breath but just barely. It was like a pillow being held firmly over your face. Just give it a moment and you're as good as dead.
Edgeshot felt his lungs begin to collapse. Even though he was paused, all of his organs were still working which meant he still needed air to function. The blood vessels in his eyes bursted, turning the white orbs into clots of red. The veins in his neck turned a dark shade of blue and his lips faded into gray. Soon he was a cold, lifeless corpse.
Kami released her quirk but it felt like it was still activated with the way the body remained still. She slapped a hand over her mouth to ease the feeling of bile slithering up her throat. She was only 19 years of age and already had become an accomplice to murder thanks to the influence of the SSO.
Tyra went over to the teen and placed a hand on her shoulder as comfort. "You get used to it."
"I pledged that I would do whatever it takes to change this world. But I'm not going to kill for the hell of it." Kami stared back down at the body, forcing herself to remember this sight and what she was currently feeling. It made her stomach churn. "This was necessary."
"Ukai probably already got the anonymous tip. We have approximately 5 minutes to plant the drugs and get outta here." Tyra pointed at Toga, "You sure your DNA changes too when you transform?"
"100%. I can set somebody up for any crime just as long as I got their blood."

-Meanwhile-
"Mommy!" A little boy shouted as he jumped off the swing. His messy, black hair fell over his eyes and brushed all over his face because of the cool breeze. He jumped into his mothers arms who gave him a loving embrace.
The mother had snow white skin that appeared almost ghostly. The contour in her face was a cold shade of gray that accentuated her thin facial features, and high cheek bones.
She and her son both got up from the park bench, holding hands to cross the street that lead to an ice cream shop.
Lurking behind the trees with a surgeon mask and cap was Yoku. Back when he wandered onto the campus of Tsuka's school, he had been making his way through the streets after watching over his old hook up and their son.
Nobody knew of his family. Not a single soul. That was including the woman he shared several nights with. Whenever Yoku ingested someone's DNA they'd be under his control and remember nothing of the encounter. For a bachelor like him it was perfect since it prevented the possibility of men and women blabbering about intimate experiences with him. The downside of this was that Yoku's own carelessness led to a woman getting pregnant and having no knowledge of how it happened or who did it to her.
Yoku was never the monogamous type and neither were any of his partners, which was what made it so hard for the woman to pin point who the father could be.
His son was 5 and had similar features to his own but Yoku never got close enough to see anything other than the boys red eyes and black hair. Yoku had no intention of raising a child and that was why he was full of self hatred that he hid all too well. Someone like him shouldn't be allowed to roam the streets. He was a liar and a coward who ran away from his own wrong doings and thought it was better to leave things in the past. What made it hard was that these were real people with real emotions. And unfortunately, Yoku never learned how to fully let go.
This war that he joined wasn't for his own benefit, what he really wanted was a better life for those who had no idea he existed and who he had created a bond with. They didn't remember him but he never forgot their faces or their stories.
All with different backgrounds and up bringings. Everyone with their own sad struggles. Hearing it all made him hate the world he lived in and that was why he was doing this. A hard reset was what the world needed and he swore to be apart of that. Until-

"Todoroki!" Aizawa snapped at his student. "This wasn't the plan we discussed. I told you no bloodshed."
"Mr.Aizawa I-" Todoroki put his hands up in defense.
"Vlad and I can't look past this. We agreed to go along with this revolution but don't forget that we're heroes and I don't care what the reason is, we don't murder." He scolded angrily.
Tyra stepped forward and moved Todoroki behind her in a protective way, acting as a shield. "It wasn't his fault Eraser. We all agreed to the plan that got the go ahead from you and Vlad but keeping Edgeshot alive seemed too risky so I acted on my own accord."
Aizawa shook his head. If Shouto wanted to be a leader then he was going to have to understand that it wasn't all about making orders. If someone who worked for him messed up, it was his fault. "We've discussed this in class before Shouto. When you're out in the streets trying to protect citizens and things take a turn for whatever reason, the casualties fall on your shoulders. All the blame is on you and you have to own it, not shift the blame."
Todoroki restrained himself from balling his cold hands into fists knowing that if Aizawa noticed this, he'd be in more trouble than he already was in. "Yes sir." Was all he had to say for himself. He bowed his head down in respect to his advisors. "It won't happen again."
"Oh we know." Vlad pointed to Tyra, "You're an asset and we know that, but this can not go unpunished." The woman stepped forward and held her balled up hands upward, ready to be taken away in restraints. Vlad waved her off. "We can't arrest you for murder or else it'll be traced back to all of us. But you will have to serve time. Until then, you'll lay low and if it wasn't clear, your aid is no longer needed in the Shin Sekai Order. But your allegiance is forever." Those last words had nothing to do with sacred loyalty. It was a warning saying that if you leak any information about the SSO, something worse than death was coming your way. "Like Aizawa said, us heroes don't kill, but I guarantee that you'll be wishing you were dead."
Tyra nodded in agreement then looked back at Shouto and winked. Aizawa and Vlad led Tyra away, leaving the young leader in the room all by himself. Shouto lifted his once sorrowful eyes up from the floor as a smile crept upon him like a killer in the night. "Just one pawn." He flipped his long bangs out of his face as he looked out a large window that presented a sleepy city. "Taking that away isn't going to hurt me as long as I keep collecting everyone else's pieces."
Underestimation was Shouto's greatest weapon. This didn't happen by accident. He knew that someone was going to have to pay the ultimate price if Edgeshot was killed. Lucky for him his followers would be loyal up to their last breath. Tyra had previously volunteered to take the fall prior to the mission, knowing that her sacrifice would only push the movement forward. Great soldiers are only loyal to great leaders, and Shouto saw himself as the best soulfully because everyone thinks they're guiding him to make the right moves only for them to be played like little shogi pieces. "This is only the beginning."
