Training
Alyssa started her Trainee period a week after she got the letter. There she was accompanied by her friend Terra and also a classmate close to her, Sammy. It wasn't all bad, before-
"Oh my god, did you seriously print this sheet in black and white?!" The president of the MSF shrieked in an overdramatic tone, while walking towards her, and snatching her papers up.
"Oh, um, my printer only prints in black and white, so...." Alyssa defended herself, hoping her reason would get through the 'thick skull' the President had.
"Absolute disgrace. " The president finished, while throwing the printed sheets at her. However Alyssa couldn't catch them in time, resulting in her getting tangled at the chairs, with white sheets fluttering next to her.
The commotion caught the attention of the other committee leaders and trainees. At the corner of her eye, Alyssa saw Terra, wanting to rush over to help her to her feet, but was blocked by the other older team members, while slightly hearing on what the others told Terra,
"Stay out of this, newbie, the real show's about to start."
Alyssa froze. This wasn't going to end well for her.
"What a clutz," she heard someone jeered at her.
"We definitely can't have someone like her on the team," another sneered back.
Alyssa quickly scrambled to her feet, and shuffled the papers together. Her face felt hot. Whether she was embarrassed or mad at this situation she was whirled into, she wasn't enjoying this one bit.
"Ladies, ladies..." the President chittered, while signalling the girls to stop talking.
Slowly, they dropped their conversations and turned their attention towards her.
"Anyways," she continued, "A kind reminder to all of you: remember that all the equipment here- from the audio panel to the lighting panel, they're all really expensive. So all of you got to move and hold things carefully, or else..." she then rolled her eyes towards Alyssa's direction, while discreetly pointing her finger at her direction. The other committee members caught on and laughed at her poorly made joke. Soon, everyone was in on it.
Well maybe everyone except Terra.
Alyssa's frustration rose to the maximum, but she knew she had to keep her cool in order to prove others wrong.
She had to stay strong.
Instead, she stood up, and walked back to her stations. As the others heard the moderator's footsteps coming closer to the room, the president quickly called the crowd to disperse, and they all quickly went back to their individual work stations.
I know things are going to be hard, Alyssa thought to herself, but if you're there God, can you please give me the strength I need to stay strong ...?
She then shrugged to herself ,Well I can't always rely on God, I need to put in my own effort as well... come on Alyssa, you got this. You can do it, You can do it-
Although her thoughts points her into thinking that everything is going to play out fine, there's a shadow of doubt still looming over her, and is slowly growing.
