'Things are starting just great,' Alyssa muttered to herself as she trudged to heat up her lunch. Although things aren't going as well as she thought, she managed to bypass and think more optimistically. From getting threat letters to being publicly humiliated, whats not to love?
"Cheer up Alyssa," Mckenzie yelled to her as she started picking up her pace to catch up to Alyssa's.
"Things won't be as bad as they are right now."
"Hopefully."
As they finished heating their food, both heard a yell from the table they were eating at.
"Hey, you guys, get back here!" Vien screamed out to some seniors who were sashaying out the school gate, possibly to get their delivered lunch, but they didn't even turned around to address the issue.
"What happened?" Alyssa asked.
"Some of those senior form girls, they always think they rule this school..." Sia replied bitterly, while following a few curses.
"Basically, we got this table before them, but they claim that it's theirs when the evidence was right in front their eyes-" Terra started.
"Like we were right in front of them, sitting at the table, and what did they do? Friggin ignore our existence and just put down their stuff here!" Sia continued, while pointing at their stuff.
"How about we just put it at that empty table next to us?" Alyssa offered out, followed by her friend's nods of approval. So, one by one, they carefully put the Senior Student's belongings at the table beside them. After that, they went back to their table, and started eating their lunches, while chatting on what they did in class.
"-and I was like, 'whats a 'rabbit cell'?' And the teacher was like 'a red blood cell'" Alyssa laughed as she mimicked how her Science teacher spoke.
"Omg, rabbit cell! You serious?" Sia chuckled, followed by a small nod from Terra. Slowly, the group erupted into laughters.
It was then Alyssa caught the previous Seniors who tried to have things their way at the corner of her eye. And from the glances and looks they're giving to her an her friends....
Things aren't going to end well.
"Guys, guys!" She quickly hissed to the group, "the squad, they're back!"
"Umm... okay?"
"Is there any problem with it?"
"They're looking at us if we're their prey!"
"Oh shite. "
"We...might be screwed."
"Ya think?"
Sia paused for awhile. "Maybe they're not gonna do anything to us? I mean we didn't do anything wrong. " she squeaked.
"Sia, they think they rule the school, they can do anything." Vien harshly whispered back.
"But maybe we can hope...." Alyssa trailed off while all of them shuddered, hoping their demise wouldn't come to them.
But, eventually it did anyways.
Around 15 min later, one of the 'squad' girls sashayed over to their table.
"Which class are you guys studying in, and what are your names?" She demanded.
Alyssa gulped, as she tried to think of what what to say. "Eh..."
"Whichever class and whatever name we are called is non of your concern or business, why do we have to tell you?" Terra shot back, while earning Alyssa's sigh of relief, Vien and Sia's smirk, and an alert face from McKenzie.
The Senior was obviously baffled, hearing how a junior student, especially these who stole the popular group's table, was just angering.
Her expression quickly changed into a snarl, as if to warn the group that they made a bad decision, and sashayed back to the table Alyssa and others helped put their stuff on.
"Nice going Terra," McKenzie scolded, "she's definitely going to make us pay."
"Don't get that mad at her McKenzie," Alyssa intervened, " at least she saved our reputation."
"Still-"
"But it really isn't their business anyways," Terra replied "if they insist that we did do something wrong, we have evidence to back us up. "
"Ugh... guys, lets just finish eating quickly and just get out of here as soon as possible" McKenzie ended
But the gang was a little bit too late.
As they started gaining speed on finishing their meals, the Senior that came over just now brought along her other squad members, and they circled the table, as if they were vultures waiting for their next meal.
Alyssa shot a worrisome eye signal to the others, while Terra just mouthed back 'act natural' to her.
"Oh god, so these are the little snots who got our table?" One of them spat out in an annoying tone, as if they intentionally wanted the group to hear what they're saying.
"Ugh, such an annoyance." Another voice called out.
That voice.... it's so familiar....
Alyssa then looked up, searching for the owner of the voice she just heard. To her surprise, it was coming out from an old friend of hers- Caroline.
As soon as she knew, Alyssa's heart stopped. Was Caroline okay with rallying up and bullying people, specifically her? She quickly brought back her attention on her food and ate as quickly as she can, while Terra and McKenzie tried to finish their homework as fast as they could.
"Hey Mari," on yelled across to the girl who asked for their names, "should we dump water on their homework to steer them clear?"
There was a paused moment from the group, all of them were shocked and utterly ticked off from what they've heard.
"Obviously not," Caroline cackled back, "would you want to waste your precious water on these nuisances?"
For some reason, Caroline and her other goon gang started closing into the table, as if they were pressuring them to leave. Finally having enough of this, Terra and McKenzie gave Sia, Vien, and Alyssa the signal to leave. In a few seconds, they all fled from the 'popular' table, leaving The Seniors to their own devices.
The quintet quickly fled to one of the benches at the corner of the school, and were left breathless when they got there.
"Never, am I sitting anywhere near those tables ever again." McKenzie panted.
"Exactly, I'd rathe leave those bitches to rot from their snottiness" Terra replied back.
"I'm so mad, I'm not even ashamed to call them the 'bitch squad'!" Sia wailed out. Which caught Vien's attention.
"Hey, that's actually not a bad name." Vien laughed bitterly.
"Lets just call them that then, suits them!" Alyssa laughed.
And from then on they just labelled them as the Bitch Squad.
"Anyways, I'm heading off to the library to finish my assignment." McKenzie said as she stood from sitting on the benches. "Anyone coming with me?"
"Count me and Sia in." Vien moaned out as they struggled to stand. Eating at that rapid pace left their stomachs feeling pain.
"How about you Terra?"
"I think I'll go to the computer lab and recode my app for the workshop I signed up for" was the reply.
"Okay then. Alyssa? Alyssa???"
Alyssa was as if she's in a chance. She blocked out all the noises around her and was absorbed in her thoughts. How could Caroline do that to her? Even if they haven't talked for a while, she couldn't have changed that much. After all, she was her friend. Her Friend.
"Earth to Alyssa, HELLO?" Mckenzie shouted into her ear, quickly pulling Alyssa back into reality.
"HUH HUH HUH WHATTTT?" Alyssa replied back with a startled scream.
"I asked if you wanted to go to the Library with me."
"Oh, no thanks. " she replied back, "I'll just stay here for a while. Y'know, digestion..."
"Oh well, suit yourself" Mckenzie replied back, and grabbed all of her belongings to go to the library, followed by Sia and Vien.
Once all of her friend's have left, Alyssa went back to her thoughts.
I swear, I will get back at them. Someday. Somehow. She paused again but how? That's when she got the idea. Okay, I could go tell the teacher, file a report at them and let their student behaviour drop... Hey, this could actually work! She gave herself a mental pat on the shoulder
Tomorrow, I'll go tell, whether someone stops me, I'll go with no mercy.
