Chapter 1
You had been sailing for a few days and then suddenly you saw two young men who had just escaped a ship fire and were calling out for help on a piece of driftwood. You felt something kick in inside you, like some sort of maternal instinct. You immediately grabbed some rope, threw one side into the water, and pulled the men up. They were both trying to catch their breath as they explained themselves.
"The fire was a mere accident, set by improper coal handling." said the first man who had introduced himself as 'Jacob'.
"We thank ye for yer bravery, and to show that we appreciate it...we shall serve on this ship." said the second man nervously who had introduced himself as Wilmer.
"Ok, ye shall serve, but do not be frightened, I ain't Davy Jones." you said. Wilmer whimpered and quivered in Jacob's arms.
"Was it something I said?" you asked.
"When our mother died...father raised us by himself, then he went on a trip and we never saw him again...we have reasons to believe Davy Jones took his soul." explained Jacob. You felt a twinge of sympathy for the two men, you thought it was strange, but you didn't think much of it.
"I know how ye feel, I never knew my mother either, so my father had to raise both me and my brother by himself too, the difference is we had a family, ye never did." you said.
"Thank you, that's very kind" said Jacob. When Wilmer calmed down, he was ready to talk again.
"Can ye please direct us to the hammocks? We are terribly tired from trying to not drown after the fire." he said. You lead them downstairs to rest and went back up to the wheel. You were determined to find Jack and have him back in your life.
"You can't stay hidden for long, Jack, I will find you" you said.
*3 days later*
After a few days, you decided to make port in Port Royal (see what I did there?) to get some more supplies, you told Jacob and Wilmer to stay hidden in the bedroom while you went out dressed as a fancy woman (minus a corset). You gave the man 3 shillings to tie up your boat and not give your name. You walked around, bought everything that was needed, paid, and scurried away. "How'd it go?" asked Jacob.
"Very well, I managed to get all the stuff we need without giving away my identity" you said. After putting all the things away, you headed back to the helm (wheel).
Sorry for the poor ending. Wow, I'm really sucking at chapter endings for this book!
