Chapter 2. Reunion
The orange sun peaked over the shallow mountains in the distance; ending the dark abyss of time we call night. Cadets roamed the cold, silent training grounds, making their way to the mess hall for a stale breakfast.
The sky was a beautiful mass of violets, pinks, oranges and slight yellows that stretched across the globe; ending where not the human eye could see.
Quiet voices chatted along with their friends, exchanging thoughts and comments of their dreamtime.
At the edge of the forest; a small girl could be seen; the very same girl we have been watching intensely, seeing the out come of her actions and words.
Akira's chocolate brown hair still remained in a messy braid, cascading down her back while her lively golden eyes glared lightly at her target - an innocent cherry blossom tree.
White knuckles crashed against the hard trunk, shuddering; a fair amount of the tree's pearly pink leaves fell, joining their fellow brothers and sisters on the ground.
The golden eyed girl elbowed the tree, earning stares from her fellow trainees as she played the role as beater against the tall, form of nature.
Sweat beaded across her forehead and fell down her temples, some managing to get caught in her thick, raven eyelashes while she sent another blow at the defenceless cherry blossom.
A trio of 'cadets' stopped a fair distance from the training girl, their hidden eyes glued onto the small human.
Oh, so we thought.
The group of three did not ware the normal trainee attire; but had one or two added accessories.
A bulky, forest green cape was draped over each of them; ending uniquely at the top of their thighs while a hood of the same colour hid their face, abandoning anyone from seeing their covered head.
No one seemed to notice the trio; all except the very person they were watching. Akira watched the three out of the corner of her golden eye; still managing to throw punches and kicks at the silent tree while observing the suspicious group.
They talked in hushed whispers, pointing at the training girl every now and again; making it obvious the trio where talking about the brown haired human.
Grinning, Akira took her attention away from the group; not wishing to be caught even though it was practically impossible.
Barely minutes later; a small tap on her shoulder pulled her out of her thoughts. On instinct, the small girl spun around; back handing the person that took her by surprise.
A loud groan erupted from the strangers mouth; yet as Akira looked closer at the female figure a spark of hope lighted inside her eyes.
The figure had silky brown hair; much like her own yet somehow more.... Beautiful.
The victims face was covered with golden tanned hands; rubbing the place where the golden eyed girl had 'attacked' her. Most likely leaving a big bruise.
"Yeash, Akira. Is that what you normally do to old friends that want to see you again?" Groaned the 'stranger'
"Cadenza?!" Akira cried in delight; for she had not seen her friend since the Titans had breached Wall Maria.
"The one and only!" Lifting her hands off her face; Cadenza revealed her intense purple eyes; something that Akira adored dearly about her friend.
"Where have you been?" Asked the golden eyed girl. Her voice suddenly changing into one of a stricter tone, Cadenza hesitantly answered;
"Uh, well, mainly sitting around in the crematory, ya know, after the humanoids made the break through... I couldn't find my parents." She explained, giving her old friend a forced, closed eye smile, "but that's okay, anyway, after all this, I'm going to join the Recon Corps and get my revenge!"
"Sure, I believe you." Akira softly replied, her golden irises blanketed with a far away
"This got awkward quickly...." Cadenza murmured slightly, earning an agreeing 'hn' from her friend.
Sighing, Akira looked up at her friend and smirked. A murderous glint in her eyes sparkled, making her friend flinch in return.
"I missed you, Cadenza.. I thought you where dead.." Akira dreamily said. "But, now I know your alive. I don't have to be alone
"Uh, Kira? Since when did you get so depressed? You're turning into a egotistic duck butt!" Cadenza playfully cried out, hoping to lighten up the mood, if not only a little bit.
"Maybe I am." A certain golden eyed girl mumbled quietly, a loud, roaring voice soon taking over the silence between the two old friends.
"OI! BRATS, LINE UP!" Roared the unmistakable voice of, the one, the only... Commander Shadis.
One groaning as the other stayed quiet, the two girls jogged side by side; Akira forgetting about the suspicious group cloaked in green.
Well, the small girl thought having friends again won't hurt, right?

Hi, little stars!
Okay, so I just wanted to point out the Cadenza is based off my friend (who is also in my other book, Lady Of The Pegasi, Harry Potter Fanfiction :P);
