CHAPTER 2;

BAD PLACE

𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐚 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 . she crawls inside and he passes her a pillow and blanket. "hey um, i never asked your name" stan says as she places the pillow inside.

she pulls her sleeve up to reveal a tattoo on her wrist. stans eyes widen. 

'010'

"is that real?!" he reaches to touch it but she pulls away, looking at him her eyebrows furrowed. "sorry just, never seen a kid with a tattoo before." 

"whats it mean? ten?" she points at herself and he arches an eyebrow. "that's your name?" she then nods. 

"ten, okay. well, my names stan. short for stanley. maybe we can call you t, short for ten?" she frowns at the name. "you like ten better?" the corner of her lips lift and she nods. "okay.. well, night ten" he stands up and walks over to the light switch.

"night stan." she mumbles. he smiles and pulls down the sheet covering her. stan turns off the light before going upstairs.

she rests her head on her pillow. a couple tears forming in her eyes, then she falls into sleep.

"dude, what if in the middle of the night she comes up and kills us all!" eddie whispers. "she won't. and her names ten." 

"ten? who calls their kid ten?" richie asks laying on his pillow. "i don't know, but she has a tattoo on her wrist that says, '010'."

"do you think there's like clones of her or something?" eddie stutters. "c-can we just leave it? t-theres school t-tomorrow, and we n-need rest" bill says sitting up.

"fine, but if you are all dead in the morning. its stans fault" eddie says sitting back down. "just go to sleep eddie." stan whispers.

in the morning, stan rushes down and places some eggos in the toaster. he then rushes upstairs to see the boys getting ready for school. "stay here, i'll talk to her." 

"don't die" eddie calls out.

stanley grabs the eggos and rushes down to the basement. "hey, i see you have found my super com. i use it to talk to my friends" he says hands her an eggo. she takes it and starts eating it, like she has never eating before. 

"listen this is going to sound a little weird, but i need you to go outside and knock on the door. my mom will answer and then she can help you get back to your parents?" he explains. she looks up at him and swallow the eggo.

"no." 

"no?"

"no."

"no, you don't want my mom to get help?" she takes a bit out of the waffle and looks back up at him. she shakes her head. "you're in trouble aren't you?" he asks.

she looks at him, her innocent ocean eyes glistening. "who are you in trouble with?" he asks.

"bad."

"bad? bad people?" he asks. she slowly nods. "they want to hurt you?"

she holds her fingers up to her head like a gun, then points them at stan. "understand?" she whispers. 

"stanley, where are you? your friends are waiting!" stans mom calls out. "alright, wait here i will be back." he pulls the cover over her and rushes upstairs.

"guys, go without me. i'll pretend i'm sick okay?" stan says. "what? i thought you were getting rid of her!" eddie yells. "i will, when mom gets home okay?" he hisses. "i can't believe this" eddie mumbles and walks out. 

he runs downstairs and sees ten doing the same thing as before. "you want to look around the house?" he asks. she nods and steps out of the tent he created for her. 

she walks over to a picture of stan's family. she sees a picture of his older sister, "pretty" she mumbles. "i guess, that's my sister. and my parents. but my sister doesn't even live in derry anymore, shes at college."

"want to see my room?" he asks. ten smiles in reply. stanley grabs her hand and leads her up the stairs. 

she enters his room, its painted a nice baby blue color and very neat and tidy. she leans down and looks at a picture of him and his friends. she then turns and sees a picture. 

in it is the four boys at a 4th of july parade. but she recognizes someone. a little boy, standing next to bill. she then points to the little boy. stan's eyes widen, "you know georgie?" 

ten turns and looks at him, she then nods. "yes."

"remember number ten. try focus on the man okay?" dr brenner's voice echos through her head, while she stands in the black void. number ten looks around and doesn't seem to find anything when she notices a boy. running along the road, chasing a toy boat, laughing and skipping. he wore green galoshes and a bright yellow raincoat. he giggles as he chases the boat down the side walk.

she steps closer to the boy, who then screams. "no!" ten steps back, gasping. the boat flows into a drain. he kneels down, peering into the drain. ten arches an eyebrow and walks towards him. "bills going to kill me!" the boy whines. he suddenly screams and jumps back, frightening ten.

"hiya georgie!" a voice is heard. she looks closer and sees a clown peering at the little boy.

the monitor back at the lab starts to beep, as ten's heart rate goes up. 

the boy reaches into the drain to fish the boat back out when the clown bites the kids arm off. he screams and starts to crawl away. 

ten shouts and covers her face. blood spilling down her nose and ears. tears start to pour down her eyes. the clowns hand then pulls georgie back into the drain. "billy!" he shouts. ten looks over and runs to the drain. the clown looks up at her.

"want to join them ten?" he hisses. "come join the clowns. you'll float too" she closes her eyes and screams.

"hey, hey ten calm down!" stan says as tears fill her eyes. "its okay, your okay" he pulls her into a hug. 

"stanley! your friends are here!" his mom yells from downstairs. "tell them that i'm in my room!" he yells back. ten sits down on stan's bed when bill, richie and eddie walk in. 

"are you out of your mind!" eddie yells, infuriated. "she will murder us! whats the bet she's diseased too-!"

"she knows about georgie!" stan hisses. "w-what do you mean she knows about g-g-georgie?" bill asks, putting his bag down. stan walks over and grabs the picture, "she pointed at him. she knew he was missing i could tell."

"she said that bad people were after her, and maybe these bad people took georgie!" stan says. she looks up at him confused, and opens her mouth to say something when eddie turns and walks up to her. "do you know where he is? DO YOU KNOW WHERE GEORGIE IS?" he yells grabbing her shoulders, shaking her. she looks up at him tears swelling in her eyes. 

"stop it you're scaring her!" stan yells. "she should be scared! if you know where he is tell us" eddie yells, bill walks up to him. "eddie-"

"this is nuts i'm telling your mom!" 

"no! ten said telling any adult would put us in danger!" stan argues. "what kind of danger?!" richie mumbles. eddie and stan continue to argue. "GUYS--! what kind of danger?!"

"danger danger!" stan says.

stan holds a finger gun up to richies head, who gasps. and then points to bill then eddie, who slaps his hand down. 

"no! no! no! we are going back to plan a. we are telling your mom!" eddie yells and opens the door. 

it slams shut. 

he looks at it confused. and opens it. 

it slams shut again, this time the lock turning. 

the four boys turn to the girl, shocked. her eyes shifted from scarlet red back to ocean blue while blood trickles from her nose. 

"no."
