twenty four

Wooyoung opened his eyes blearily, wincing when unwanted light shone down on him. He closed them again and focused on his separate body parts.
He could move his fingers, his toes, his arms and legs.....it appeared he wasn't dead just yet. Though as soon as the boy attempted to lift himself, or at least shuffle into a more comfortable position, his entire spine seized up and his neck shot out bolts of pain.
"You have to be kidding me....." he rasped out in a dry and hoarse voice. Clearly, he was in dire need of water.
Immediately after his eyes adjusted to the sharp rays the sun insisted on beating down, his mind whirred back to his last moments of consciousness.
Bloody Jeong Yunho and his stupid games! He inwardly hissed with a lot of bitter undertone, I'll fucking kill him!
Around him was silent, like his room. Though the more he looked around, the more apparent it became that this was indeed his dorm room. The empty bed to his right was as untouched as when he'd left it. As when Seonghwa had left it.
The lamps were all off since the brightness outside would lead one to assume it was around midday. Wooyoung groaned as he forced himself into a sitting position, the cracks and pains following his reckless actions making him regret it slightly.
The vivid appearance of Seonghwa sent a chill down his already gnarled spine, throwing the teen into a state of panic. The vampire changing process was a long and painful one, so what if these problems were.....oh hell no.
He checked his teeth, dramatically feeling for fangs, then pinching himself and noting all his bruises and cuts. Clearly, nothing huge had happened while he'd been unconscious.
Yet this led to another question - that being how long he'd been out.
As Wooyoung tiredly attempted to pull himself off his bed, he ended up collapsing down the side, rolling onto the carpet and twisting even more problems for himself than he needed. The faded purplette wailed, clutching his sore neck and allowing uncontrollable tears to spring free.
He wasn't even sure why he was sobbing. Or why his body was wracked with agony and sadness. The boy just hurt all over.
As he crawled on his hands and knees towards the floor length mirror upon his wardrobe, he brought his hands up to clutch the wooden frame and his eyes widened exponentially at what he saw.
Marks. Bruises. Hands.
There were horrendous purple strangle imprints looping around his neck. Scabs had formed in the shape of crescents, only possibly left by nails.
"What the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck?!" He screamed, slamming his fist down against the glass. It shuddered, but he was too weak to break it.
His vision became quite blurry, most likely from the tears, and his whole body was telling him to just shut down and sleep. Sleep until all the pain went away.
The sound of the door creaking open almost scared him half to death, sending Wooyoung scrambling backwards along the floor and away from the entrance.
His panic only slightly subsided when he saw Kim Hongjoong leaning against the frame, arms folded and eyes examining his every move.
"I'm on babysitting duty," he stated monotonously. The sheer level of 'I don't give a fuck' radiating from his figure would've put even a sinner in church to shame.
"B-Babysitting.....?" The younger croaked, raising his hand up against to touch his wounds. "What?"
"It's been three days, Princess. We were actually starting to wonder if your oxygen was being cut off from you brain due to the, uh...." he used his hand to motion towards his neck in a swirling manner, "Crushed pipes? Popped arteries? Psh, I don't know. Yunho fucked you over, and that's all I really tuned into-"
"He what?!" Wooyoung shrieked, barely having the physical capacity to scramble to his feet. He did so with all sorts of creaks and snaps screaming from his joints. "Where the hell is San? I need to speak with him."
"He's got a major detention right now, Kiddo. His vampires, a.k.a Mingi, Yunho, Jongho and I are in a crap tonne of trouble."
"Why?!"
"Apparently we're a 'nuisance', which is sort of understandable. When I was getting trained, I threatened to kill the principal's daughter when he told me I was 'in the way'. Mingi bit a vampire student, Jongho managed to burn a fifth of the orchard a year or two ago......and then there's Yunho."
Wooyoung listened and cringed with every addition to the story. They were unbelievable, yet that was all in the past. San's vampires were now respectful and subtle beings....all except the most recent member who was still teething.
"Then, why are you here? I thought you were getting punished," the younger ended up asking, slight concern bubbling up in his mind, though not enough for him to truly acknowledge.
"San is taking the hit for us, Sweetheart. He's taking each individual punishment, including Yunho's, and dealing with that asshole later in his own way. I literally told him not to, but he specifically said, and I quote; 'Nobody touches what's mine'."
The human stood there in shock, intaking way too much detail and not wrapping his head around it fast enough. "S-So where is he now?"
"Dunno. He's been missing for three days-"
"Screw it, I'll go find him myself!"
Hongjoong winced, blocking his path and narrowing his eyes. "I'm in charge of looking after you today. What do I get out of letting you run around loose?"
"I'll feed you."
"Feed me what?"
"Blood. I'd do it."
"Very clever, but you know San wouldn't allow for that. Though you're willing to pay up, so I'll come along anyway."
"Seriously? Just like that?"
"Get a move on before I change my mind!"
Wooyoung giggled victoriously before hobbling out of the room, using Hongjoong as support as they made their way down the hallways of the human dorms.
Why the vampire had been allowed in there was a mystery the human didn't care about, so it was left unsaid.
