thirty two
Pretty long chapter, guys. But there are only a handful left, so we're nearly done :)

"Wooyoung," a soft voice broke through the boy's sleep driven thoughts, his mind pulling his consciousness back from the depths in which it had run to. "Woo, please wake up."
The purplette tensed, his body once again in agony like it was every morning now, and his desire to fall back to sleep returning. In fact, not waking up ever again seemed like a cherry on a very big cake.
Nevertheless, he peeled his eyes open for the sake of humouring the man above him - Choi San. A delicate hand was gliding its fingers over his flushed cheeks as he blinked back the blurriness.
"Mhm," Wooyoung hummed, unable to shift to get any more comfortable, unable to stretch, and unable to think of anything other than the intense burning feeling in his muscles. It was excruciating, like someone was holding a naked flame over them, but not touching the skin. Just heating it and heating it until the pain was unbearable.
"You're awake," San smiled, sitting on the edge of the mattress and looking rather tense for a man with no worries. Clearly, something was bothering him.
"What is it? Why are you here?" The human enquired ever so quietly, assuming he was in his room since he couldn't quite bring himself to check. His neck was sore.
"You've been asleep for about two days, Darling. I've been wishing to speak with you for a while, but you just weren't coming to. I supposed waking you up by force was the only way to speak to you."
Inside, San was growing evermore concerned that the boy wouldn't wake up at all. The longer his eyes remained sealed, the easier it was to believe that he'd never see those hazel irises again. So by assuring himself that he wasn't just a comatose shell of Jung Wooyoung, he was putting his heart at rest.
"I've been asleep for two days? What?"
"Listen, I am not the best person to explain this to you. I'm somewhat angry right now, I'm not in the mood for another one of your refusals, and this is serious. But honesty is all I'll ask of you right now."
What is he so upset about? Wooyoung wondered, eyes heavy and body far too hot.
"Tell me," San retracted his hand from the younger's cheek, "Has Ahyoung, a friend of mine, been visiting you? Has she been giving you anything?"
"Ah, that's what you're upset over. Of course she has. Don't worry, I agreed since she said they were from you-"
"Damnit!" The older growled, slamming his fist down on the duvet and quickly breathing in and out to regain his composure. That had been the first time in a long time that his true frustrations had come through. How could he not have kept them in check? "This is a disaster. I didn't want to punish her without proof, but clearly she's been trying to kill you off. Yeosang and Rina were right."
"What? She's been doing what to me?"
"What were they? Pills? Injections? Or, perhaps a drink?"
Wooyoung furrowed his brows, "Little bottles of this yellowish stuff. What was it? What do you mean 'trying to kill me off'?"
"It is as it sounds, my love. Ahyoung is a possessive and greedy vampire. But of course, you couldn't have known that, and she's a fabulous little actress."
"What do I do?"
The ravenette leaned down and pressed a chaste kiss to his forehead. "There are two options, and I am so sorry that they have been posed to you."
".....San...."
"The only way I can think to save you is to make you mine. A 'toy'. It's a dangerous plan that I've concocted, I will admit....but Ahyoung has left us no other choice. It's that, or I let you go."
"Let me go? San, what the hell is going on? I've just woken up and now you're telling me I'm about to die, that Ahyoung is some-some sort of psycho, and that I have to be a 'toy'. Why is this happening?"
All prices I must pay to keep people in my life, the older thought, connecting his lips with Wooyoung's briefly before pulling away. "Tell me. How badly do you want to live? And how much do do you hate me?"
This is crazy. I don't understand how all of this has happened in a matter of two days of my sleep. Or have I just been so oblivious and missed completely all the warnings and hints I was getting? Have I put too much trust in those around San, and not asked enough questions? "But....of course I want to live. And San, I don't hate you. I did once upon a time, but it's not like that anymore."
The vampire's 'dead' heart fluttered for the first time since he'd ever come here. Hell, since the first time he'd met Wooyoung. The feeling was there that night too. Maybe he had a chance, and god would he die for that chance. "Then Darling, would you agree to be my toy? I know it's such a horribly vulgar word, and I'll agree to any other title you want. I won't force a single thing on you, and it's your life, I'll just share a part of it-"
"Shhhh, it's okay," the human smiled softly, feeling as though he was looking at an entirely different boy from the one he met months ago. "I want to live.....and I'll live with you. But you can't drag me around. I won't belong to you. I'll make my own decisions. Understand?"
"But of course." You'll just have to understand that I must go soon. "Do I have your consent? To put the plan basically, I'll brand you, extract the infected blood -which is most of it- and give you more of mine to heal. A 'toy's' blood is twice as strong as a regular human's, as it has a vampire's 'blessing'. You see why I'm doing this?"
"I-I do. Will it hurt?"
"Want a sweet lie, or a brutal truth?"
Wooyoung gazed up into his now crimson eyes, feeling so soft on the inside as the aura he radiated was designed to calm him. He was going to be bitten. "A sweet lie."
As San crawled up onto to bed to hover over him, he smiled as assuringly as he could, even with his fangs present now. He came down, scooping Wooyoung into his arms and resting him in his lap before whispering in his ear, "This won't hurt a bit, Darling."
Then, as the purplette tilted his head to the side for better access, San licked a soft stripe along his pulse and bit into the skin. Immediately, and for the first time in so long, he was met with fresh running blood. Warm blood that hadn't been stored in a refrigerator, or left out of a body for days. It was new, and it was Wooyoung's.
Wooyoung's voice was weak as tiny squeaks and gasps fell from his lips and his fingers gripped onto the back of the other's shirt desperately. Somehow, the pain his body endured everyday was going away, all concentrating in one place: his neck.
Everything was getting easier until a deep scratch was cut into the lower section of the human's back, slicing right over and eliciting a pained scream from him.
San pulled away, breathing heavily as he kept the other's face buried in his shoulder by holding the back of his neck. The scratch was reshaping, sliding like a digital drawing across his clear skin until a small picture was created. Choi San's brand was a butterfly, which surprised him to no end as he hated insects.
Interesting, he thought, returning to draining the blood from his love, I suppose I'll learn to love butterflies if he has one on his back now.
"S-San...." he whined out airily, flopping in his arms as all strength left and his body didn't seem to be his anymore. It wasn't linked to his mind, and he didn't care.
"Mmm, Love, I know," he whispered gently, slowly releasing him from his hold and laying him down. Wooyoung was now running on minimal amounts of life force, his heart beating rapidly to pump more blood, yet failing and slowing down. He was dying, and the process had begun.
The window slammed open and in jumped two vampires, Seonghwa and Yeosang. They said nothing, eyeing the space frantically as stress continued to build.
"Don't let him die, or so help me," the oldest boy glared, and the pureblood took it in his stride. Of course he'd do his best.
The only human in the room fell unconscious, never to wake again if San couldn't pull this off. The older viciously ripped his wrist open with his nails, arteries snapping and blood flowing fast. Just as it needed to.
He then cut a long wound into Wooyoung's already pierced neck, shoving his limb at it and letting the two separate blood types mingle and interlock, multiplying cells, regenerating the human's broken body that couldn't do it itself anymore.
Paler.
Paler.
The teen was drifting further and further away the longer the transaction took, but in his heart, San knew this would work. His blood was too strong for it not to.
"Sang," he murmured, brow twitching angrily as tension built up.
"Yes?"
"Find Ahyoung. Tell her to meet me tonight. She's not getting away with this."
"Of course," Yeosang agreed, leaving Seonghwa alone to stand and make sure everything went smoothly.
Everything was going quiet. Sounds faded as no new ones were created.
Thirty seconds.
A minute.
A minute and a half.
Two....
Wooyoung suddenly started coughing violently, back arching as long, needy breaths were inhaled and exhaled. The ravenette smiled with both excitement and relief, leaning down to connect their lips and breathe a more regular pattern into him, slowly and safely.
"What-" the boy gasped, shooting up into sitting position and clinging to San tightly. His wild eyes darted around the room, and his hair went from purple to white, losing all pigment as he no longer had the ability to be individual or creative anymore.
He was a toy.
"We did it," the pureblood pulled him in for a loving hug, squeezing more air out of him that he probably needed. "I knew you were strong enough for this."
Seonghwa trailed over to sit on the other side of the bed, ruffling the human's hair. He hadn't grinned so much since his humanity was taken from him, and boy did the sight of a relieving scene make him smile. "Well done, Woo. You did so well!"
With a body that felt invincible, sight sharp and hearing sharper, Wooyoung could honestly say he had never felt better. This was as amazing as a human being could be without becoming a vampire.
A rebuilt genetic structure.
A body designed originally for protecting his master.
The process went exactly as it had supposed to.
They had been successful.

Look, I know how rushed this all is at the end. I honestly think it was such a long endeavour getting them to get along in the first place, so I hope the sudden speed isn't as awful as I think it is....
Love you all~
